"DWTS#7, Episode 12, ECST"

Another week, another chance for Clorky to cause carnage via VFTW and, if you believe a "source", voters from the other networks to bring the show down. I think the group dance number is tomorrow, but we might get a preview of it tonight...... It's supposed to be Hip-Hop based this time......

Also, next week I'm gonna need segcappers again. The Steelers are playing Washington on MNF, so next week's Election Eve episode will be pre-empted here in Pittsburgh.

"Conspiracy theories?"
Posted by Estee on 10-27-08 at 07:37 PM
Let me guess -- the rest of the Big Four have decided that if Cloris wins, it'll effectively destroy the show -- and they've asked all their employees to vote Cloris for as long as their texting fingers will hold out: don't worry, they've got the bill?

You had me up until I had to consider the chance of FOX paying for something.

Silly Estee, they can vote with hundreds of free fake email addresses, no need to pay for texting.

Apparently Brooke got bit by the injury bug this week...... she was seen in the open with a bag of ice over her foot.

"Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:05 PM
This is only their second Ballroom-style dance so far. The last time they did a ballroom dance, they got 3 6s........ in week 1.

Dancing the Viennese Waltz to "Gravity"?

Scores: 7~7~7 for a total of 21

Apparently we do get to see the Hip-Hop Group Dance tonight........

I liked that, and think they really should have scored higher, considering the scores other people have gotten.

That was lovely, but not great.

Maurice is definitely getting better so much better.

Tall glass coming up! Celery, olives, lime or all of the above?

At the casino, they put olives and limes in every time. I had 3 rounds and called it my salad lunch for the day.

Celery and lime please.

"Lance and Lacey"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:15 PM
The judges hammered both Lance and Lacey last week, and they had the biggest point drop from one week to the next.........

They went to the old 'NSync recording studios in Florida and got a visit from Joey Fatone.....

Dancing the Jive to "Tutti Frutti" (spelling according to CC)

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

That was fun!

Lance shines in these kinds of dances - when he doesn't fall. It was nice to see Joey Fatone. Lacey even tried to take it down a notch.

eta: What's up with "Tutti Fruitti" for Lance's dance??

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

Lance is quickly becoming my favorite.

"Susan and Tony"

In an attempt to break out of her glass box, he took her to a club.

Dancing the Mambo to some traditional Mambo music.....

"RE: Susan and Tony"

That was letting loose?

You'd think someone who does pilates would have a greater range of moment.

Good heavens, girl! I had such hopes for La Lucci, but maybe this is too much for her. I still love her, though, and she gets my pretend votes.

"Brooke and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:38 PM
She apparently injured her foot right around the end of her Jitterbug last week.....

Dancing the Rumba to "Breathe"?

"RE: Brooke and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 10-27-08 at 08:40 PM
I thought that was really pretty, especially with the injury.

"RE: Brooke and Derek"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:42 PM
Scores: 8~10~8 for a total of 26. (This might be Michael's only 10.....)

The signal got interupted during the Samantha-bot interview.....

"RE: Brooke and Derek"

Brooke gets my real votes. Derek gets a loud raspberry ... and a finger.

"Cloris and Corky"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:50 PM
They can't believe that they weren't in the bottom 2 last week. They're starting to act like an old married couple..... and it's nice that she's acting ornery to even Corky...... He had to recruit one-time hubby, George to crack the whip.

Dancing the Cha Cha Cha to "See About Me"

"RE: Cloris and Corky"

Well that was, um, interesting?

"RE: Cloris and Corky"

I could have lived without that entire visualization. Gonna need some drops for my burned corneas.

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 08:59 PM
Basically the dance was a WTF?

Carrie Ann was kinda sad that Toni got eliminated so that could go on instead...........

Oh, and they made a video game about the show, so that households around the world could dance like idjits, since it's for the Wii.

Scores: 5~5~5 for a back down to earth 15.

Most everyone is in their outfits for the Hip-Hop Group Dance.....

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by qwertypie on 10-28-08 at 12:17 PM
I thought Carrie Ann was a little harsh. Take it up with the producers who cast Cloris in the first place if you are unhappy. I wonder how this bodes for your Nov. 4 elections.

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by mindy23 on 10-28-08 at 02:30 PM
Agreed, that was a bit harsh, considering it is NOT Clorky's doing that they are still there.

Unfortunately, SOMEONE out there is getting their jollies voting for them, and having those of us who USED to enjoy this show and the talents that were formed, get sicker and sicker to our stomaches each week.

So, as far as it goes, if this keeps up, she could very well walk off with that giant disco ball. Way above Brooke, Lance, or anyone else who has every right to it this season.

Don't think for a minute it can't happen......

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by Snidget on 10-28-08 at 03:26 PM
I really don't think she will survive the next two weeks and certainly won't win.

This is about the point where if this were AI any VFTW person that also has some popular support gets tossed from the competition.

DTWS has a bit more control at thwarting the public such as causing a huge judge score to be overcome.

"Cody and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 09:03 PM
Julianne had a stomach issue, and it delayed some of their practice time.

Cody got spray tanned, and his hair got spray painted to get into character for the Samba.

Dancing the Samba to.... dunno. I know it's on the pop stations, but I don't know the name.

"RE: Cody and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 09:06 PM
So, Julianne will have to go into surgery to remove her appendix tomorrow. Edyta will be Cody's partner until Julianne can return........

Scores: 8~8~7 for a total of 23

"RE: Cody and Julianne"
Posted by whimsey on 10-27-08 at 09:11 PM
Perhaps the producers should revise the training regimen. Too many injuries/illnesses.

Poor Cody, but he gets Edyta. That should put some whiskers on his chin, IYKWIM.

"Warren and Kym"

Looks like they're gonna recreate their spat from last week and incorporate it into their Rumba this week.

Dancing the Rumba to "Irreplaceable"

Batten down the hatches! The group Hip-Hop Dance is next!

"Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 09:22 PM
If the rehersals are any indication, I predict carnage!

The choreographer had everyone show their best dance moves and it was going smoothly until Cloris arrived with a Big Ol' Boom Box and lotsa bling. If Cloris makes any actual decent hip-hop move, I'll be surprised......

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by vince3 on 10-27-08 at 09:26 PM
After Cody leads off with a little Beat-boxing, the number begins to "It Takes Two"

Cloris and Corky got the first spotlight and then retreated to the stage area to get out of the way!

I tried to look away, but I couldn't. It drew me in, taunting me, daring me to look. I was weak. I got what I deserved.

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"

ITA! It was even worse than I could have possibly imagined! But I just had to watch it.

Enough with making DWTS more like SYTYCD. The dancers (even the pros) aren't on the same level and it just looks silly.

And Susan Lucci? Looked like she didn't show up to any of the rehearsals. She was totally clueless.

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by ShellyMay on 10-28-08 at 09:03 AM
I was surprised at how bad Susan was - she looked at her feet or the person next to her the whole time. I think she even stepped on someone.

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by JessicaRN on 10-28-08 at 10:29 AM
Susan looked totally lost, like it was the first time she had seen this dance. Perhaps her huge boobs on her bony body make it difficult to see her feet. There is something very odd and off=putting about her.

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by MKitty on 10-28-08 at 02:49 PM
ITA...she does look like a stick insect with boobs. Very off-putting, and her dancing *WAS* worse than Cloris's...at least Cloris has some personality!!

"RE: Hip Hop Group Dance Number"
Posted by byoffer on 10-28-08 at 03:00 PM
ITA. Hard to keep Cloris, but she is way more fun than Susan, who almost looks in pain as she moves around. Each part is "do this move" *pause* "do another move" *pause* "do another". very painful to watch, and her hip hop was very bad.

I will take very bad dance with fun attitude over bad dance with no fun.
