According to Vanuatu Daily Post, here are the maps and satelite images of S9 location. It seems that the merge location (orange)is located near the men's current location. Here

And Satelite image.

Just have to mention the source material is actually from our friend Dan Bollinger of SurvivorMaps a.k.a. Claycritters.com.

VDP may have linked his page, but he's the man who compiled the info and came up with the logistics himself.

Tireless work really. Specially if gone un-credited.

Thanks Tribe. Glad you are able to give credit where credit is due.

Tribe, have a look at the map with the camp locations. The Lopevi camp and the merge tribe location has changed locations. They're now on the same island. I distinctly recall reading a quote from JP alluding to 'their own island'.

What gives?

Any chance you can follow that up with your friend Dan Bollinger?

Oh boy, I hoped I wouldn't have to be the one to tell you this.
BUT ... You must NEVER trust anything coming out of JP's mouth.
I learned the hard way. Don't want to do that again!

Dannyboy is bending to the E! expose' on the tribal camp locations and adjusted his map to match.
Even though his work (and network) is huge, he is wrong sometimes. OR moreso, needs to make adjustments when the truth is exposed.

I always was taught to mistrust E! and especially Kristin from E!, but I've come to learn that they are special friends of MB's who somehow get the reliable NEWS first.

so does this mean the men fare better in creating camp, thereby being the logical choice for merge location?

maybe the women suck at ICs this time? or maybe the men do but made better camp (like in the amazon).

You have to think that there is something like the availability of food, water or the quality of camp that leads them to Lopevi after the merge.

Now if the case is food and the tribes remain segregated by gender, wouldn't that lead you to believe the men have better fare than their counterparts?

Taking a closer look at the satellite image compared to the placement of the camps, it looks as though the men's camp is located in a lush green forest-like area, whereas the women's camp is in a more brownish desert, maybe even mountainous area. Could back-up your reasoning as to the location of the merge camp and the availability of food, twopatch.

I see what you're saying. Sure would make it harder to build camp as well if vegetation were scarce. With all that said, and with all the vidcaps we've seen, there is no evidence to support that theory. Have a look at this vidcap of Julie and Twila building camp.

Plenty of green there. I'm with you, the map plainly shows a difference in the terrain. But what that means or how that affects the Yasur tribe, I don't know.

Hi

The speculation about the two camps reminded me of the area in Vanuatu which I visited about two years ago. The vegetation shown as dark green is extremely dense and nearly impossible to travel thru. I think the men's camp will be very wet, muddy and humid much like the amazon thick jungle. The womens camp on the other hand should have good drainage being sand and coral based earth with loads more sunlight and dry material. I believe this area will have better feeding potenial like well coconut palms, coconut crabs and fishing. The guys will I think do it much tougher....
...Just what they deserve too!
