SURVIVOR: ALL-STARS WINNER AMBER BRKICH HOSTS
TV Guide Channel's Original
"SURVIVOR VANUATU PREVIEW" SPECIAL,
PREMIERING SEPTEMBER 5

Los Angeles, CA (August 19, 2004) - Back from her Survivor: All-Stars adventure, where she captured $1 million as the ultimate Survivor and found love with fellow castaway "Boston Rob" Mariano, Amber Brkich is set to host TV Guide Channel's original, one-hour special SURVIVOR VANUATU PREVIEW. Brkich and TV Guide Channel will take viewers on location to the island of Vanuatu for a sneak-peak of the ninth installment of CBS's long-running reality hit Survivor, visiting this season's exotic island locale in the Southwestern Pacific Ocean to preview the twists and turns in store for viewers this fall. SURVIVOR VANUATU PREVIEW premieres Sunday, September 5 (8:00 - 9:00 PM ET/PT) on TV Guide Channel.

"We're thrilled to have Survivor: All Stars winner Amber Brkich as our host, who walked away with both $1 million and a fiancé as the winner of All-Stars, making her story one of the most memorable in reality television history," said Danila Koverman, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production, TV Guide Channel.

Hosted by Brkich, SURVIVOR VANUATU PREVIEW features an exclusive interview with the Survivor: All-Stars winner and her fiancé, fellow Survivor and runner-up Mariano. The two reveal the latest details regarding their engagement and wedding, and whether or not they plan to make the wedding a primetime television event. "We know America wants to see it....we are pretty much doing it for America because they are so happy for us it seems," said Brkich. "Everybody has just been so supportive that we almost feel we owe it to them to have it on TV. So if we can give it to them, we will."

The special also checks in with Survivor host Jeff Probst as he gives TV Guide Channel a tour of this season's new Tribal Council area. Viewers will meet the 18 adventure-seeking contestants, who will scrap for the $1 million prize in Vanuatu, a small island nation in the South Pacific home to numerous tribes, some with a history of cannibalism. TV Guide Channel also takes viewers behind-the-scenes with insider access to production, revealing the crew's various challenges as they create a show amidst heat, poisonous insects and hidden predators. The special examines the reality hit's long-running success and appeal to viewers, who made the show a runaway hit when it premiered in 2000. Now entering its ninth season, Survivor continues to capture fans with its format of stranding 16 strangers together for seven weeks with minimal resources, forcing them to band together to create a new society, then ultimately outwitting each other to become the sole Survivor.

After winning Survivor: All-Stars and getting engaged live on national television before 25 million viewers, Brkich is now planning her wedding to Mariano, an event that may become a reality show of its own. Since being crowned the winner of Survivor: All Stars in May 2004, Brkich has kept busy with dozens of appearances across the country and various charity functions. She appears on the August 2004 cover of Stuff magazine, and is currently pursuing a career in television. Hailing from the Pittsburgh suburb of Beaver, Pennsylvania, Brkich is a graduate of Westminster College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in public relations, with a minor in speech communications, in 2000.
