"Summary writer sign-up thread for Survivor: Vanuatu"

OK folks, with the cast of Survivor: Vanuatu now announced, that can only mean that it's time for one thing -- to schedule this season's official episode summary writers!

That's right, with last season's All-Stars edition now in the books, this season's episode summary schedule will not be by "invitation only" to previous Survivor summary writers, but will instead feature the return of the traditional preliminary "indication of interest" thread (although it should be noted that as in previous seasons, in the event that there are more volunteers than available episodes, priority will be given to people who have previously written Reality TV World summaries for other reality shows.) To sign up, please post your interest in this thread, as well as any applicable date restrictions that you may have. Writer selection will be arbitrary, sorry.

Also please note that there will be more than TWO DOZEN reality shows airing on the broadcast and cable networks this fall, so for anyone who misses out on a Survivor summary, there's plenty of other shows available (in fact, if you're interested in doing more than just a single summary, please email me with your interest and I'll try and accommodate you... in the past we've had several folks interested in "tag-teaming" on an entire run of a series or even doing an entire run of a less popular series themselves.)

I'd love to do another Survivor summary. I would prefer an earlier episode this time aorund (just because I can guarantee my availability with greater certainty, although I don't foresee any conflicts and would definitely make room no matter what), but certainly would not turn down any week, from premier to finale (although writing a 2-hour finale would make me a bit nervous). Use me as you will.

I'm also game for The Contender and possibly the Benefactor. Since I got a TAR slot this time around (just about to post it, woohoo!), and the list for next season is already mostly full, I'll abstain there unless I miss the draw for S9.

The only ones I'm committing to right now are Survivor and TAR6. I'd love to do a summary for either or both. Just let me know. The only conflict I can see is that we *may* be out of town for the finales of both, depending on dates. I'll be on a cruise from Dec 12-18, so any episodes falling between those dates I will bow out of now.

ETA:I'll probably at least catch the first episode of the Benefactor for work, so I could probably be talked into doing a recap for that as well. I could tell you things about Mark Cuban that would make you wince.

I'd lvoe to summarize another Survivor episode. Last time, I got the fake-merge-Outcast episode of S7. Doing the merge episode was fun, but you can schedule me anywhere you want. I'm going to have 6 summaries under my belt, come this Thursday (Big Brother 5).

I'm also hoping to get a TAR6 summary, since I didn't get the TAR5 one. Maybe I'll do an Apprentice one too.

I'd like a shot at a Survivor summary, since I haven't done one of those yet (although I have done two for TAR, and one each for Bachelor and Bachelorette). Most other shows annoy me too much to summarize.

I have a family conflict for Thanksgiving week, but anything else is fine.

Oh heck--I was going to just happily read other people's stuff this time, but Survivor writing is like crack for me. I can't stay away. I hereby throw my hat into the random draw!

And as before, if I am selected and Landru is not I would like to cede my week to him because Survivor just ain't Survivor without a nice Landru summary.

No date restrictions so far.

I'm expecting that Burnett will NOT supply a recap of this show, since he'll want to end before Christmas, and he skipped a recap in Survivor 7 with 14 episodes. Thus, I think the show will include only 15 episodes.

I also don't know what will happen with the show on Thanksgiving or whether it will move to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. But the person who has the Thanksgiving summary will have to deal with that question.

If you have any last questions or comments, let me know, because the draw follows as soon as I do the TAR6 draw. (Devious Weasel and anotherkim, please look at the TAR6 summary thread and answer the question therein.)

Mr. C, since Survivor summaries are so popular, only folks who have done official summaries for other shows are considered. You can get yourself in the running for future Survivor summaries by signing up for and completing an official summary for one of the other shows.

It's also the policy for The Amazing Race summaries.

So it looks like I have American Thanksgiving, eh? Not a problem (because I'm Canadian so our Thanksgiving is a different day). If nothing is aired, though, does that mean that I have the week after?

Yes, I deliberately gave a Canadian the American Thanksgiving episode -- I always try to do so.

Something will be aired, I'm sure, although it may be on Wednesday. But no, you don't have the week after, even if nothing airs -- I'll find another way to make it up.

Here's the deal.

thetick is out of the Survivor: Vanuatu summaries due to an excessively busy workload (I empathize). Since Swami pulled out above, that means Silvergirl1 is in.

I've already heard from a couple of people who would like to write the summary for tonight's Ep. 2. But I'll throw it open right here to any one of the people on the Survivor: Vanuatu summary list.

The first person on that list to volunteer for Ep. 2 on this thread gets it!

...and then I'll post the full schedule.

While Landru got here first, I'd like to point out that he's not really a long-relief pitcher. He IS the best closer in the business. Is anything funnier than his reunion show summaries?

Unless he would rather avoid the finale or the reunion show, I think he should get those by executive fiat. Plus, who wants to follow the funniest guy on the board?

And thus, I nominate myself as the long relief yeoman for tonight's episode, and ask that Landru sharpen his pencil for the finale.

Has anyone seen any info as to when the finale might air? I ask this because TeamJoisey is not able to do the finale if it stays on the date on my schedule, so I may have to do an episode shuffle between TJ and one of the other summarizers with an earlier December episode date....
