The first Survivor: Vanuatu web promo has surfaced. It has been uploaded to the CBS.COM website, but does not appear to be linked from the main pages.

Rupert, the million dollar winner of Survivor: All-Star's fan poll, has apparently been selected to promote this series.

Some new challenge footage is shown, as are the new Survivor buffs worn by the castaways.

Good find, 2patch.

I can't get the picture links to work either. In the first caps of the obstacle course challenge, it looks to me like the men are competing against the women. Gender-segregated tribes again?

If this really is the way the tribes are starting then besides a gender difference there is an age difference as well:

The tribes do not make sense unless it is a total random draw.
TRibe 1 has a huge disadvantage as shown if correct.

What does the person have on her (I think it is a she) head/face that is yellow? It may be a buff but doesn't look like one to me. Also, if that is a buff...does anyone else have a buff on?

I think it's a buff with the Survivor logo front & center. I thought that was a hole at first, though.

Look at the guy on the right, in the reddish tank, diving under the poles. He appears to have a red buff on his head.

Based on the color scheme of the bamboo poles, it looks like red v. yellow.

Also, Survivor Maps has what may be the tribe names (Marum for the red tribe and Benbow for the yellow, with Yatur being the orange merged tribe).

I believe the woman is wearing a yellow buff on her head, you can see the logo, but a regular tube top that also happens to be yellow and is not a buff. (IMO)

I think BR is referring to another woman (although 2 in the picture appear to be wearing their buffs as tops). I believe he means the woman to the right of the woman in the green top.

The woman crouching, who appears immediately above the woman wearing the buff on her head, also has her buff as a top, I believe.

It's pretty clear it's yellow vs. red. Take a look at the poles on each side - there's a yellow pole and a red pole. Case closed, at least for me.

I agree that there are 2 woman with buffs clearly on, one on the midriff and another on the head, and one male with a red buff on his head. So, IMO red and yellow do appear to be the tribe colors, unless CBS is doctoring them.....again!

The doctor could be in the house. If you look at how the field is put together; there seems to be 6 lanes, 3 red, 3 yellow. The red piping appears clear, the yellow not so much. There is a red carpet top left and one red carpet in the middle. Can't see the yellow one. Why a red carpet down the middle if the field is divided red & yellow? As well, there only seems to 6 competitors per side, where are the other 6? Another thing that is odd is the fact that the males seem to be wearing red shirts, not buffs. I'm not a color expert, but aren't red and yellow base colors? Would be simple enough to edit those.

Actually, I think the bottom pic shows us that the yellow team is on the right and the red team is on the left. The first pic (IMHO) is taken right at the top of the bamboo and we really can't tell the depth.

vols, you're confusing me. Do you mean from our angle? From the players POV, the yellow team is to the left of the red team.

2patch, I only see five people visible for each tribe, and all five are the same gender. If Snewser's tribal configuration is correct, the four men from the yellow tribe maybe be competing against the four women from the red tribe in a different facet of the challenge.

The last four are from the arrival (IMHO) and looks like the locals will play a role in the beginning as well.

That last cap looks to me like Kathy O'Brien on the right in her pink all star outfit, and looks like it could be Shii Ann in the green in the group hug with the others.

Edited to add:
She even has her necklace on, and if you look close on her arm it looks like her turtle tatoo.

The VO for that part of the clip is "Make friends."

ETA: The 4th "woman" in that picture is a man wearing a "green" buff on his head. Looks like Colby to me, but 1) it's a really bad angle with his face obscured by Jenna's head and 2) I've got a really bad track record when it comes to identifying people. I'm pretty darned sure that it's NOT Lex or Dicque, but see 2 above.

Also, are these pics close together as far as timeline? If the blue shirt guy is around a couple other guys then that would explain the red shirts of the guys in the challenge pic.

I don't think it is the same guy Doc. The guy with his back to us in the boat has a tan baseball cap on backwards and you can see the dark hair coming out from underneath it. the bald guy is completely bald and his blue shirt is sleeveless.

Behind the bald guy in what looks like gray overalls, I bet that is Travis. the guy in the boat I agree with BR looks like John Palyok.

The bald guy looks like David Finta, though he sure has put on some weight (since 1998), it appears to be the same features.

I posted this before I saw that the bald man above is identified temporarily as James "Chad" Crittenden who according to Snewser may be the one that is disabled (has one leg and half of the other).

Don't think it's the same guy, look at the nose and the ears.

1) The guy on top (David) the nose points down, the picture below has the nose level.

2) Top picture the ears are pointing out, below are tucked back.

3) Those two features could probably be altered with plastic surgery, but the check the ridges on the forehead. Those things are like fingerprints.

I just watched the CBS preview (not intently, I was ironing as it was on so I may have missed something) and I didn't see a David at all (did I miss him?).

Also, Chad is the amputee. John is the guy in the blue shirt with his hat on backwards.

You are correct KO, as always....! I was watching the show this am and jotted down all the names as they were called and I wrote a Brady Finto down.....so that must be Brady Finta...I guess I just did'nt hear the last name clearly.

They also had Romber on and I think Boston Rob was wearing the same shirt that he wore on the CBS Early Show, the day after the season wrap and announcing of the winner.....he needs some new clothes! Anyway they asked for their picks and dislikes and Rob went with Brook, as he's the Boston "Boy", while Amber likes Julie Berry and Chris, from Ohio. They both don't like Lee, the drill sargeant....too bossy! I have a feeling they may be dead on about Lee Master, he does'nt look long for the show to me either. FWIW!

Fp, did you notice they introduced Brady Finta as "an FBI Agent"? There's no mention of him having been an actor at all in his bio on the CBS Website. But I'm sure it's the same guy.

I'm noticing alot of the names sound kind of "actor-ish". I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of these bio's turned out to be bogus.
