"Lvoe List 26.12"

Hot dog, what a week! And two boots! One knew it was coming. The other was a total complete blindside! Except it was set up well by the editors so it wasn't a surprise to the viewing audience.

01. Cochran (01). He done good taking the hot dogs, though he got no lvoe for it. The longer Eddie and Erik sat without a chaperone who knows what they might have generated up between themselves. When the time was right he made his move against Andrea, knocking out a major threat to his winning the game.

02. Brenda (05). She would rather fight for it than quit, good for her. Though it put her on Andrea's radar, the girl from the season that gave us Na'Onka and Purple Kelly knows what Survivor thinks of quitters. Kept her cool when she found out Andrea was trying to blindside her.

03. Erik (03). He really should have held out for something better than doughnuts and milk, let Eddie have all that to himself. Head still in the game, handing over the HII to Andrea was the right move under the circumstances (despite Cochran making a joke about it). Though he may have missed his big move chance by going along with the Andrea blindside when he could have gone ahead and booted Eddie, leaving Stealth completely fractured. Good job winning immunity, though.

04. Eddie (06). Bumps up for lucking into a good thing. The Faves are turning hard on each other and the lone Amigo is really just a likeable guy and on the outside of the dramas. It's not a great position but the door is open if he can find a way to take advantage of it.

05. Dawn (04). Fighting her own problems, her need for stability was at least served by the predictable Reynold boot.

06. Sherri (08). Alas, we didn't even get any delusional stuff from her this week, completely buried in the edit.

Good-bye, Reynold (07). Kept his head held up and kept up the fight as long as he could even though the force was never with him.

Good-bye, Andrea (02). Played hard, played a strong game, so good for her.

1- Cochran: Getting rid of the other independent thinker cleared the path for Cochran. Now, he needs to be right about Dawn being beatable.

2- Dawn: She managed to keep her alliance with Cochran secret so they protect each other. That means that she's the only one that can beat Cochran, either by blindsiding him or by getting the votes.

3- Eddie: I doubt it was all planned out but Eddie only needs to win 3 immunities to win this game. Not bad for someone that's been on the outside all along even if it's not a game that earns respect.

4- Brenda: Knowing that her game depended on Erik, don't you think she should have talked to him, made a deal with him? At least, she should have asked that the votes be split with Erik voting for Eddie, not Andrea. If he had been told to vote against Eddie than Erik wouldn't have been able to change the result by switching his vote. He would have had to tell Andrea to play her idol and that's not in Erik's plan.

5- Sherri: She doesn't know she's the goat. If she makes it, her FTC performance could be hilarious. It could get as fun as when Heidi said "I'm the mastermind. I made half the moves out here."

6- Erik: He finally gets a Final 3 deal so what does he do? Votes her out. Cochran says he lies. What does he do? Follows him. How dumb.

Booted - Andrea: She played a good game but Eddie was her blind spot. She should have realized that Cochran wasn't on the same page about Eddie. He told her he didn't want to keep Eddie yet she pushed her agenda on him.

Reynold: The optimist ran out of luck. I wonder what he would have done had he won immunity and found the idol. Would he have given up to Eddie? If Eddie knew that Reynold would give him the idol then it puts his decision to go for food in a different light, making it pretty smart. Either Reynold loses and he goes or Reynold wins and saves them both.

Incredible, wasn't it? Everyone got wary of depending on Erik long ago because they just don't know what he's going to decide is best for Erik. And yet the split vote plan left him three options, not two. With Andrea and Eddie voting Brenda, Brenda and Sherri voting Andrea, and Cochran and Dawn voting Eddie, Erik had more choices than maybe he knew with what to do.

Granted, of the three targets Andrea was the best player and holding the HII, but voting her out didn't do anything to weaken the other side. Voting out Brenda might have bought him some points with Andrea, but he had just proven himself a challenge threat and Brenda was Andrea's target precisely for being a challenge threat. He should have voted out Eddie and left everything in a state of chaos, IMO.

Sherri without Eddie in the game, Andrea with HII but Eddie out of the game, Cochran and Dawn knocked back a bit because Andrea is still in the game and still has the HII, Andrea and Brenda still aimed squarely at each other -- what a wild episode 13 we'd be headed for.

It still should be a good one, but oh he missed his chance to upset the hot dog stand.

Yes, he had choices but made the worst one possible. That's why I have him at 6th. What's your excuse?

That word "excuse" is just biased. I <snooty pause> have a reason. In fact a reasonable reasoned reason.

It's still an interesting way he has chosen to play the game, taking it to the most basic level. Even though he missed a big opportunity this time, he's still in it and still has a chance of pulling something off. And if he doesn't win in the end, it is still a way of playing the game that could take someone to the win.

His way of playing the game can be called many things but interesting isn't one of them. It may have been called interesting when Gabe tried it so long ago but today? One Fabio was more than enough.

He still has a path to victory if he can achieve it, though. Basically, any F3 he's in with Andrea or Cochran, his chances are meager. Any F3 he's in without either of them, he can stand his ground and make his case, he has a good shot at winning.

Granted, booting Andrea this time wasn't his best option, but it really wasn't his worst. Booting Brenda would have been the worst choice.

It's an interesting and tactically sound way to play the game for someone whose alliance got defeated on the first boot. Even if you can't see it, I can, it's good game.

I see it, don't worry. Like I said, I saw it in S4 when Gabe tried it and again when Fabio won with it. Worst.Winner.Ever.

Don't forget that Erik was offered a place in the majority alliance before the first vote but refused it.

Gabe? Seriously? You are further exposing your bias against players who are difficult to edit by comparing a player who has a game to a player who never had a game, was never interested in the game, just signed on for the adventure and only lasted as long as he did because he never went to Tribal until that one and only time. No Game Gabe, honestly, for real?

At least it wasn't Zoe.

The comparison to Jud is fair, though he and Erik have completely different approaches to the bare bones basic game. "Fabio" was more about playing the inoffensive character whereas Erik is actually weighing his options and making interesting choices. In-ter-est-ing.

Well, at least to me, if not to you then so be it.

Yes, Phillip did sorta kinda invite him to be the seventh wheel in Stealth in the first episode, though it wasn't a real firm thing -- claiming stuff about numbers but giving him no good info, no names, and then pulling the "I'm only the messenger here" BS -- utter BS -- utter BS -- utter BS. Shady as heck, and Erik reacted negatively to what he perceived then as Phillip pulling bully tactics. And then he adjusted his game, like any smart player would.

Gabe didn't want to scheme and that's why I compare him to Erik. Did you read Andrea's interview where she said that the pointing to a name of a flag happened 4 or 5 times, not only once? If John had brought Gabe to the merge (Gabe did vote against Boston Rob which is what stupid John should have done) then Gabe would have played exactly like Erik.

You talk about choices but I'm sure you know the song: "You may choose not to decide but you still have made a choice." Making a choice isn't interesting in of itself in this game, it's what you do with that choice. Sherri has made choices too. Up to now, Erik has done nothing but further the alliance's game.

So what if Phillip's offer was BS, it was an in and that's all that a smart player needs. Erik should have said "Thank you Phil, I'll do whatever you say Phil" and then turned to the camera and added "until I hand you over to the Ponderosa staff."

Gabe didn't play the game, he was there strictly for the adventure and the experience.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/03/29/survivor/main504969.shtml

But you just have to make a choice. The experience or the game. They're mutually exclusive. You can have a wonderful adventure and have more fun than anybody else or you can go out there to win the game and you end up coming back and watch yourself on TV and see the things you said to these people and all of their friends and family and the whole country is watching you. And you've got to be able to do that. You've got to be able to come back here and watch yourself. For me I had to be able to be proud of what you did.

So, fine, he's a nice guy and all, concerned about living up to his own standards so he could be proud of himself. Good for him. No Game.

What a fun episode. I do think that Loser Lodge will be more fun than the actual show now, but we will see.

1. Cochran (1): I am still a little surprised by how much I am enjoying him this season.

2. Brenda (5): Big leap this week. No tears and seemed focused. Great job in the challenge and didn't seem to panic when her name came up.

3. Erik (2): Still love this goofy kid. Not sure he made the best move, but he has the potential to keep things interesting!

4. Dawn (4): I like her so much more when she is tear-free. Looks like the tears are back in overdrive this week.

5. Sherri (7): Skeletor!

6. Eddie (8): Still no love from me. I am sure that you don't care since I am not the prettiest person posting (alliteration!).

Bye, Reynold (and hello porn stache).

Bye, Andrea (and good luck hanging with the specialist).

Well, better late than never, here is my nearly outdated lvoe list.

1. Cochran. I would have never dreamed that I would put him first, because I did not like him at all during his first season. I like his style of playing quietly and unobtrusively, yet managing to make things happen.

2. Brenda. She knows how to hang in there and fight.

3. Dawn. She is a bit nuts and inconsistent, but still better than the other three IMO.

4. Erik. At least he didn't give the necklace away. He does not seem in touch with reality to me.

5. Eddie. I don't think he realizes this is a competition.

6. Sherri. Delusional and not very likable.

Reynold--His luck finally ran out.

Andrea--Could be a smart player, but methinks she talketh too much.
