"DWTS#7, Episode 7, ECST"

So, Rocco was Dead Fricking Last last week and would've probably been eliminated if Misty May was well enough to dance and not have to withdraw........ The scores from last week carry over to this week, including the votes, so Rocco's got a hill to climb, and VFTW blocking the pathway up the hill to boot..........

Good Luck Rocco, you're gonna need it......

Ain't enough luck in the world to get Rocco out of last place.

Just sayin'...

"Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 06:25 PM
Their Jive last week re-engerized the judges..... Maurice was more concerned with the steps that he didn't have fun.... until Cheryl summoned Maurice's daughter to slap some silliness into him......

Dancing the Samba to "That's the Way (Uh Huh Uh Huh) I Like It"

I dunno. Disco music for a Lain dance? *shrug*

Scores: 6~7~7 for a total of 20........

Not keen on the disco for latin music.

It was OK but didn't really wow me, but then I was distracted by the hair so I might have missed something.

"Cody and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 06:34 PM
To quote FLCL: Those.....eyebrows! (So distracting)

Julianne had to call Cody's HS Principal to get him refocused.......

Dancing the Tango to "Like You"?

I'm just getting around to watching this on the DVR. The song was "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols. Awesome song! But not for a tango. And of course the band butchered it, but what else is new? *rolls eyes*

"Toni and Alec"

Toni's heart is feeling much better now........

Dancing the Samba to traditional Samba music

Looks like Toni got the keys to Edyta's costume closet.

She looked a bit stiff to me.

Scores: 7~7~8 for a 22 for this week

Two week total: 44 (3-way tie.....)

"Cloris and Corky"

She's feeling that if she fails, she'll fail spectacularly......

Dancing the Tango to traditional Tango music......

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 06:54 PM
Looks like they actually tried to do the dance....... to the best of her mobility and limitations..........

That was Ok, not all that great, but OK

It was nice to see her actually try for a change.

"RE: Cloris and Corky"

Scores: 8~7~7 for a total of 22!

Two week total: 38

Y'see what happens when you try, Cloris? You may actually get through on your own merits.........

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by SilverStar on 10-14-08 at 07:01 PM
That might be the biggest pile of crap I've ever seen. Not the dance, but the scores. Don't get me wrong, it was probably the best she's ever done as far as effort goes, but come. on. An 8? Even the 7's are ridiculous, but an 8?? I get so mad when people are rewarded just because they're old. She sucks. There is no doubt. Yeah, she can lift her leg real high, good for her. She's barely dancing! Arrrrggggghhhhhh! *rips hair out*

"Rocco and Karina"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 07:04 PM
Considering what Clorky just did, they're extra screwed......

A visit from Rocco's mom was to try to help Rocco focus on the fun part of Samba........

Dancing the Samba to "Rio"

"Susan and Tony"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 07:14 PM
Susan's a little livid that Carrie Ann called her timid......

Tony wants to bring out Erica Kane into her dance..... so he did a guest shot on All My Children (ironically, he's on crutches.......)

Dancing the Tango to traditional Tango music...........

"RE: Susan and Tony"
Posted by Snidget on 10-13-08 at 07:16 PM
I dunno, she seems stiff and passionless and the judges will of course love it and see all sorts of stuff I didn't.

To celebrate the first 10 of the season, they went to a club that featured Samba girls....... Brooke even got into costume a little bit and danced a little bit.......

Club Des Belugas Hip Hip Chin Chin (Smooth Return Mix) Lyrics

They've used it on SYTYCD.

It was pretty good, at least she can shake it.

A pro couple, Max (not that Max) and Yulia, popularized this approach a few years ago, with Frank Sinatra doing the lyrics. Max and Yulia were insanely good at this, and the music was far superior as well. I noticed Derrick copped a few of their moves. 4 new dances will debut next week: Hustle, Jitterbug, Salsa, and West Coast Swing.........

Scores: 9~8~9 for a total of 26

Two week total: 54 and the outright lead (almost impossible for anyone else to take over.....)

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by Snidget on 10-13-08 at 07:30 PM
Hmm, with those dances, it could be interesting, it could be a total train wreck.

So who thinks Lacey's going to get the Swing?

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 07:34 PM
Did she do well with that dance?

If not, they'll give her that dance to try to rid themselves of her.......

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by qwertypie on 10-13-08 at 07:39 PM
She's a national west coast swing champion.

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"

Gawd forbid they give a professional the dance that they specialize in.........

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"

But watch all the conspiracy theorists come out of the woodwork

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by Snidget on 10-13-08 at 07:48 PM
Yep, it will bring them out of the woodwork.

I wonder if anyone else has any experience with any of those dances?

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 08:11 PM
Alec wanted the West Coast Swing, remember?

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by Snidget on 10-13-08 at 08:16 PM
Doesn't tell me if he has a lot of experience with it or just knows less about the others.

Now they can talk to other people to get the choreography, but I think they do most of the teaching.

I don't know how long of a warning they had on this. If they knew before the season started that's a different issue than if they just found out now.

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"

My guess from his attempt to explain WCS -- not alot of experience in any of them.

I seem to recall we have some jitterbug experts around here. Can't wait to hear their take on what is presented next week.

"Lance and Lacey"
Posted by vince3 on 10-13-08 at 07:33 PM
They reigned it in last week and might've reigned it in too much.... they're stuck in the middle......

Dancing the Tango to "Disturbia"?

How he can be that light on his feet, but he didn't seem to do as much dancing as I would have liked.

"RE: Warren and Kym"
Posted by kbrockm on 10-13-08 at 08:15 PM
The samba just isn't Warren's dance. He couldn't quite make his body move in the way required. His professional partner had to make the dazzle to take our eyes away from his lackluster effort. But prior performances should prevent his elimination. He really CAN dance; just not the samba!
