I think it's aperfect start.

Love Denise, Malcolm, Jon, Mike, RC, Lisa, Angie and Abi.
Loathe inZane, Russwell, Cooter and Roxy.

I liked:
- RC, Mike, Malcolm and Denise who seem to have smarts.
- Angie and Abi who have spunk.

I still like Jonathan but he's going at it the wrong way.

Then, at the bottom of the list, we have Jeff Kan't and Russell who had bad premieres. Peter is dumb, Roxanne reminded me of Sarah/Cleopatra while Lisa is boring.

The others were non-factors.

Things I Hate: Why the new players can never understand that returning players only make decisions to help themselves win the million dollars.

Things I Like: I look forward to watching Survivor each Wednesday night. I may complain about what happens during the season, but I hope it goes on forever.

Very crude rankings, nothing particularly specific to say about any of the castaways. The first three ladies are the ones who I think I underestimated the most pre-season.

1. Denise

2. RC

3. Lisa

4. Michael

5. Malcolm

6. Abi-Maria

7. Jeff

8. Sarah

9. Angie

10. Jonathan

11. Pete

12. Dana

13. Roxanne

14. Katie

15. Carter

16. Artis

17. Russell

Out:
Zane

Like

01. Michael. Best take on the game.

02. Denise.

03. Malcolm.

04. RC (Roberta).

05. Angie.

06. Artis.

07. Dana.

Indifferent

08. Abi-Maria.

09. Pete.

10. Roxy (Roxanne).

11. Carter.

12. Jeff.

13. Katie.

14. Dawson (Sarah).

Dislike

15. Lisa. Astonishingly bad social game.

16. Jonathan. Really hate to have him this low, like him from previous games, but he made the classic mistake of catching HII fever, ignoring tribal dynamics.

17. Russell. Fell into the classic veteran mistake of playing the exact same game that sent him home the last time.

Loathe

And good-bye to

18. Frankenzane. Like that he tried to gain control of the game by getting in everyone else's heads, but he was really awful at it when the pressure was on. And, honestly, if you know you're going on Survivor wouldn't you try to shape up a bit for challenges, get in some better condition!

You do remember that Russell left the game because he was KO'ed on a maze corner during a challenge? He was never voted out because of his social game.

Yep, I do remember that. If "played too hard" fits anyone to a t that was Russell Swan in Samoa, he drove himself into the ground, collapsed in dehydrated exhaustion.

He wasn't a bad player in Samoa so much as someone who let it go to his head. In that game the tribes were told to pick tribe leaders right at the start of the game based basically just on first impressions, Russ S. was selected leader for his tribe. Instant selected leader Swan then tried to live up to that, thought he had to do everything, be everywhere.

As a returning veteran experienced player this time Swan didn't have the leadership mantle forced on him, he went right into it anyway. I'm not saying he didn't learn anything from Samoa, he's just playing the game the same way again right out of the gate when he had the perfect opportunity to switch up his game.

Anyway, I hope he recovers and gets a better game going, as with Lisa and Jonathan. It's early still. No one except Zane really hit my loathe button.

I'll even add that Russell had no idea of Survivor strategy in Samoa. He thought that the tribe would follow his decision of booting order and was quite surprised to hear that Yasmin was on the block. He needed Erik's input to understand the game. He'd have been toast as soon as he was expendable.

No sweat... I just read more into your post sounding like maybe you had thought he was booted because of poor play than the way he actually went out, as in he would knock himself out cold again or something.

Agree, this seems like a pretty decent cast so far with hardly anybody falling into the loathsome category yet. The one person who could be considered remotely loathsome ended up being booted, the idiot who couldn't shut his mouth when he potentially had something going to keep him in the game.

Do you guys think that InZane could have gotten things to go hiw way if Matsing was a tribe of 9 with 5 guys and 4 women?

Revealing that he had an alliance with everyone was definitely dumb but his admission of weakness could have earned him some sympathy and some trust if the tribe hadn't needed strength.

Strangely, that's a lot like what InShane did in Panama right down to the nicotine withdrawals!

Actually, though I think a larger tribe might have helped Frankenzane's chances of not being the first boot from Matsing, he was pretty much never going to win no matter what. The "get in their heads" game is actually not a good strategy, it is just a good tactic in a smarter game with another control strategy. Zane was nowhere as near as smart as he thought he was, and per his interviews still thinks he is. All it took to blow his game was one other player figuring it out and passing it on to everyone else. "He's trying to make us all his fools and get his way, we're better off without him."
