Was it just me or did Charla look like the little brother in "A Christmas Story" who was so bundled up he couldn't put his arms down?

I loved that the ref just pushed her out there and put her in front of the net.

I noticed that. It really looked like, for the most part, she was wearing regulation-sized gear. Maybe they couldn't get a stick the right size for her, and she couldn't handle a full-sized stick.

The real question is, did they get to keep their jerseys, or will they end up on Ebay?

Can't say anything about how she got pushed on and off the ice. My one time to play hockey, I had to do the same thing.

I thought that was the stupidest one of them all... the whole hockey detour. I mean, both contestants in the same net? Players making no effort to crank up their slapshots to the fullest? A couple of shots were even 'lobbed' in for an easy save. Phfft.

And the vodka shot was a little too easy as well. Better that they made them take FIVE shots off the sword, and only one shot for the hockey part with Al MacInnis shooting his legendary 105 mph slapshots!

Yeah, the blocking took no skill, really. Most of the saves people made were of the "shot happened to bounce off where they were standing already" variety.

Pepe? I think there are about a dozen people here who know who Al MacInnis is, and all of them are technically subjects of Her Majesty the Queen of England, Etc.

Including me. I mean, I have no idea who Al MacInnis is, but I suspect he's big in curling or lumberjacking or something.

Not that you'd care, but Mr. MacInnis has been known to rip a slapshot right through a goalie's glove - including the time where he broke the hand of one particular goalie in Chicago.

You know, that would make a GREAT roadblock. Climb up a telephone pole or tree using those whatchamacallits on the feet, then hack away until it's cut halfway through, then climb back down.

Anything you want to say about hockey in Chicago is just fine with me!

And, no prob on the LL - I rather enjoyed doing it this week. I think BB is back next week.

I also had the privilege of driving through his hometown on Cape Breton Island just a couple of weeks ago! So there!

And there are probably even more of us Canadians on this board than you might suspect....

Amen Pepe.

The Hockey Detour was horrible since if you put two human sized rocks in a hockey net and those same shots were made, I bet that the rocks could have done that detour. At least make the shots difficult. I know that Ping-Pong kid did and there were other sports ones too. They needed more vodka shots too.

That was one of the funniest segments ever. DH, who has played goalie all his hockey life, was lying on the couch and laughing so hard.

That said, I was pretty impressed that they managed to give Charla equipment that fit.

It didn't fit *that* well. It looked like her arms weren't long enough for the jersey. It looked like even junior league equipment wasn't good enough.

I'm amazed that they didn't just roll her out there like Violet Beauregard.

I was worried for the frail Team Seniormoment.com but at least they sustained no major hip injuries prior to elimination.

Charla looked like one of the monkeys in Disney Kids Ice Hockey movie. Pathetic and sad.

But, hats off to them for realising that Charla would most likely not be able to hold a sword. They are the luckeist team in the race. Why, oh why, do they keep getting on planes. They
are so dumb. They did not even book a ticket to Russia, just went on stand by to start with.

just because they went on stand by doesn't mean their dumb...other teams have done this and it is what gave them their lead. the airport is always a scramble...you do what you gotta do.

I used to play hockey. How I wish that I was one of those hockey players taking shots at Charla. That midget would have been getting some chin music. If I would have accidently fired a shot off her mask, oh well, them are the breaks. Besides, these new masks protect goalies better than ever. It would still sting. After facing my shots, I would bet Charla wouldn't "feel so protected"
