Who here on the boards has ever sent in an app for Survivor?

I'm guessing since we're all fanatics that the number might be high.

But we are not all Americans and, unfortunately we can't be selected.

I'd send one in but I'd be too nervous about actually being selected.

I've wondered sometime, "If I somehow ended up on Survivor, I wonder if anyone on RTVW would figure out it was me?" I guess the biggest signal would be if I disappeared during a TAR Casino Game season or something.

We'd recognize you by your Garfield bathing suit!

I will have to confess that I have always wanted to apply, but with all the dings that come with age and being a Great Grandfather, I fear that I have missed my chance. But, I still wonder just what it would have been like to stand on the beach with all the rest when Jeff greats everyone.

I agree with Jims;
whatever would I do if they did want me?

Go out there and win the show, of course! What else is there for one to do when they're selected to be on the show?

Can'tadian here, so not able to submit an application...

I've answered a casting call for Big Brother but never sent in a tape for Survivor. Always kind of wanted to, but I hate bad weather and like food, plus I get dizzy and unable to function if I don't eat while I'm stressed...so Survivor might not be a good fit for me.

Plus, being a lobster, I'd be both a contestant and a food source...

I'MMMM BAAACK!!!!!!!!!!

I promised I'd come back if they ever went back to the format with NO returning players/losers from previous episodes. It appears that will be the case this season, so I'll hang unless of course MB or Jiffy decides to pull a fast one on us and have a former loser pop out of some "jack-in-the-box" and into the this season.

Anyway, to answer the question...my nieces and youngest sister were on hands-and-knees begging me to apply years ago. Problem is I have an IQ over 70 so I'd be walking up to the plate with two strikes already against me, but I said if they came up with a catchy video idea to submit I'd be game. When they handed me the application and it stated if I was so fortunate to make it to the final selection I'd have to spend two weeks in LA during this final process. Heck, that's almost my whole years vacation and still a longshot to even make the season's cast!

But if I defied the odds and got casted, my third strike would be my age. Without ANY question the greatest divide in any reality show, i.e. Survivor has been and always will be--age. I won't disclose my age, but a few diehard posters here know I completed against Terry Deitz (Exile Island) in High School...so if you do the math you could probably figure it out within a couple yeras...lol

On the positive side I've been told by all that I look 10-15 years younger than my age. But that means I'll have to lie about my age. Most know I'm a shoot-from-the-hip, tell-it-like-it-is type of guy, so lying does not come easy to me. If I did chances are I'd probably slip up and say something that would call out my lie and then I'm history.

I'll say the reason why no one from this forum applies (or been selected) is because A) we all have at least half a brain, and B) we probably all have REAL jobs. Survivor/Reality Shows are geared toward acting/modeling wannabees or those in a profession where an extented leave of absence would be no problem.

Glad to see you back but I was thinking your silence was because you were the Tarzan that's on the cast!

LOL...despite the fact I have always said, "anyone over the age of 25 who feels the need to go by a nickname is a monumental Loser", he still stands out as one of my preseason favorites.

I sent in my first tape in early October. I shot it in the spring in my cold woods. It was too large to submit so my friend, who works in video, resized it for me. I uploaded it, they received it and I did not get a callback. I am concerned with my age, 55. I have never played sports. However, to play the game I have spent the last 12 years obsessing over would be my dream. I have written summaries, SOTS, played many games, hosted a few games and gone to several Survivor Events. The only thing left to do is play the real game. I do have an IQ over 70 and know what I am getting into. I have met a couple of casting agents at some Survivor events. They told me if I fit the story line, they would call. I would definitely talk about our site and how great it is. I have thought about what issues I would like to promote if I became a Survivor. I doubt they will ever call, but I am a Survivor Applicant.

You've got guts!
You should give us a one word hint that if we ever hear the word said on survivor - maybe during each confessional - we'll know it's you.

Anyone have suggestions?

Hey kircon...I think you may have misunderstood my IQ reference. I was not insinuating anyone who applies must have an IQ under 70. What I meant was if an applicant actually got through the selection process where they had to take an IQ test, if you scored over 70 the casting agents probably would NOT select you given the history of a large majority of the former castaways.

It would be neat to have someone from these Boards actually play the real game.

But you realize that some of the dumbest players were actually rocket scientists and doctors?

Agreed...which is why I said most; not 100%.

I wish you good luck but as for:

"I would definitely talk about our site and how great it is."

I'd wait for the reunion show because that alone could be a reason not to cast you.

Not sure I would even mention it at the Reunion Show. Then you might blow your opportunity for a second...or a third...or do I dare say in absurd fashion even a FOURTH chance to try to win!

I made a tape for Season 3 (complete with butt shot) and cattle-call auditioned for Marquesas in SmelL.A.. I can see the problems with both and have decided that, even though I would kick some major arse on the show, the camera, itself, is my biggest obstacle. I don't know why but I tend to back up slowly and out of the frame when a camera appears.
I'd be an even more invisible winner than Vee.

I wanted to apply when I was younger, but couldn't because my wife worked for a CBS affiliate. She left that job a couple years ago, but then I was in the middle of my Master's Degree program and wouldn't have stopped that if I did happen to get cast. And now I just think I'm too old and out of shape to win it.

I've always wanted to apply but sadly, my a$$ is too big and boobs are too small. i too wonder what the board would have to say about me, if i ever got on the show. i also wonder how the editors would portray me - dumb blond, b!tch, naive...who knows.

oooh there's a game someone should start on the boards. how would we cast the rest of the people on the boards, solely on what we know about them through the boards!!!

i like jbug's idea too that if one of us were to actually get on, we should have a "word" or sign at tribal or something to indicate who we are! that would be so fun. i suppose i really should just try to apply....hmmm....

The overly paranoid side of me thinks that, somehow, the spoiler community would figure this out without us giving any kind of clue at all. Thinking about my relative anonymity on these boards, I have no frickin' clue how they'd be able to point at a guy on the CBS website and link them back up to here, but they'd probably find a way.

Those spoilers are like CIA agents, you know.
