"Next new episode"

Was just curious when they would be showing some new episodes, so I looked on the ABC site earlier.

<< pout >> They have the next show listed as March 27 -- what's up with that? That is 5 weeks without the show even airing -- darn!

The last two were so good and gave some new info, I can't wait to see what's in store next.

Freaking ABC. They very nearly killed Alias by doing the same thing.

ABC is being enormously stupid. Desperate Housewives is in the middle of huge popularity swing; the stars are all over the print media--they're popping up as presenters & personalities all over TV-land, and ABC disappears the show. So stupid! I just hope when it finally reappears they don't schedule the show in a stupid time slot. Somehow, at this point, that seems likely.

In the meantime I've found Medium.

Taking the last point first, the 9 PM Sunday time slot is DH's as long as it can stay in the top 20 - perhaps longer. It's not going anywhere.

On your first point, ABC is in a bind because there are only 22 episodes of DH for this season and they've already run 15. They HAVE to run four of them during sweeps month, so that leaves three between now and late April. I don't quite agree with them waiting so long, but I understand why they have to do it.

ER and many of the other network shows have seasons in the same 20-23 episode seasons. I don't see as many breaks in the action with other networks. NBC manages ER much better than this...IMHO!

ABC is doing the samething with LOST. We had a fresh episode last Wednesday and will have a 6 week break before we get another episode. It is just poor planning in my eyes.

I believe that may be in part because these are new series. They had to throw out a bunch of new episodes at the beginning because they wanted to keep the positive momentum of the show going. In future years I suspect you will see a similar pattern to other established shows of having reruns sprinkled in throughout the year.

Depriving the public of my talent is letting the terrorists win.

I hope you are right Bucky! However, I would hope ABC would have better management in place for things like this.

I understand bringing the new shows in the beginning but it has to hurt the show (in the long run) to have a 4-5 week break.

I just heard that Bob Newhart is going to do several eps playing the old boyfriend of Susan's mother. They said Leslie Ann Warren was going to play Susan's mother.

I really wish that they would have thought more about scheduling the next episode. The next episode is scheduled to air on Easter Sunday, for those who are not Christian this is no big deal but I know I will be tied up with family all day and will end up taping it. I think a lot of others will be taping it too. Thus decreasing the ratings it will get. They should consider airing the 3/27 episode on 3/20 and the re-run they are going to run on 3/20 on 3/27.

I dont know about you but I have a solution for the whole re-run problem the networks would be a lit smarter if they did a 6 month season, have the "fall" season start in the begining of November and go till the end of May, and only air a few re-runs.

I'm so excited that there will finally be a new episode this weekend. It's about freaking time.

As far as I can tell, we should have at least three or four consecutive fresh episodes. Let's hope ABC doesn't decide to mess with that schedule.

And for any one interested, there is supposed to be a re-run on this Saturday night. It is the episode with Ryan O'Neal playing Lynette's father-in-law. Ya know the one that she catches him "with a client" fooling around in her living room.

From what I gather we are going to have all new episodes everyweek until the season finale.
Can't wait till this sunday when they are scheduled to begin.

I just saw a preview for this weekend's show on Access Hollywood. Susan and Edie are drinking at a bar. Susan is really drunk and she is blabbing about how Mike couldn't have killed Mrs Huber. Then she tells Edie all about the blackmail note, and Zack killing his baby sister. Edie is sitting there all surprised.

Looks like a good ep.
