Thanks for the update shakes.

pending any unforseen interruptions, such as the breakout of WWIII. A possibility. Hopefully they won't be that cruel to you.

What, only a 21 day reign of media whoredom?

You are being ROBBED, even the "Lost" folks got that! ...over a year waiting for this? ...you truly are the on the voyage of the damned.

Tues, Wed, Mon, Tues, Mon, Tues, Tues -- boy, I'm dizzy.

Fox is obviously writing this show off... even the commercials are few and far between recently... they might as well move you to Friday nights versus The Mole.

....you can't spell Love Cruise without "curse"

And yes, we are getting screwed. If FOX had half a brain they would move us to Temptation Island 2's time slot, and then put TI2 on in January, where it did so well last year.

The thing that really sucks about this is that for a year I have been watching all these half assed reality shows do well in the ratings, and I have been licking my chops in anticipation of the soon to come time when LC would blow them all out of the water. And now, because of circumstances beyond our control we are never going to get the numbers we WOULD'VE gotten with a stable run...its just not fair.....they ought to put an asterick by our Nielson points.

Oh well, I'm still going to have a great time with what we do have....I'm not the type to dwell on what could've been, but it is nice to vent once in a while.

Shakes,
This sucks for you and I'm sorry to hear it. You go ahead and vent as much as you like. This is not a Fux fan site!

Is there a bright side? Well, it looks like 3 back-to-back mini events, and then the Finale (one hour or two at the end?). If they get people hooked one night they should tune in the next night. Also sounds like they're avoiding going up against Survivor, more good news.

And if they don't air at 10 they don't go up against Judging Amy or Family Law--two well-written and popular shows. But what is up with the Tue/Wed week? Against West Wing? Booo... Stupid Fux programmers. BTW, you didn't mention the time of night. 9pm?

Let's just hope they promote the hell out of it once it's launched.

Edit: OUCH! I just saw an ad on ABC that Michael J. Fox returns to Spin City at 9pm this Tuesday--as in at the time of your premiere. And next night West Wing season premiere. So basically you are up against 1) real-life coping with (and hopefully triumphing over) Parkinson's disease while focusing on the mayor's office in NYC; 2) TV coping with MS while governing the nation in midst of international crisis...

You may just get the young, healthy, don't want-to-think-about-illness, war, or politics, we-just-wanna-have-fun demographic. Well, wasn't that already the target audience?

...in general, the viewing public is not smart enough to figure out something as difficult as the phrase "Love CRuise returns tomorrow with a brand new episode." People get confused when they are forced to deviate from their routine. Also, the absolute key to building ratings is word of mouth, i.e. people standing around the water cooler for a week talking to each other about the show...that is where you see your big ratings boost come into play from week to week. Wiht the show on two days in a row, we completely miss out on the opportunity to increase our followng through word of mouth. Also, these days television programs are not exactly the hot topic for discussion around the office. In other words, were screwed.

....West Wing's premiere has been pushed back another week, so we won't be going up against ANY new episodes of that show...as for Spin City, I'm really not too worried about losing out to some has been cripple....it didn't work for Corkey from "Life Goes On" so why should it work for the guy's who's most memorable role was "Teen Wolf"?

I'm much more worried about the two shows we have up against Monday Night Football.

Also, we do have one good thing going for us, that being that we are on right after the premieres of That 70s show and Undeclared, which are both great shows (haven't seen Undeclared obvviously, but the reviews have been fabulous). And show #2 comes on the heels of the Grounded for Life premiere, another quality show.

..yeah, that is definitely our target audience from day #1, but we were also hoping to cross over into some other demographics...after all, I want to be able to get some action from some of my groupies, not chaperone their junior high prom.

Well, the bright side I saw was dim, and the dim stuff I saw was less dismal than I thought, but there is more bright stuff AND more dismal stuff than I thought of before. That's what I get from your clarification...

Don't underestimate Michael (Back to the Future) J. Fox, though. He is quite the hero figure and a phoenix figure at a time when the nations needs one.

Having good shows leading in, that's great. The same feeble people who like to see the same thing at the same day and time every week hopefully like to stay on the station that just gave em something they enjoyed.

Football, so what? Don't people have VCR's? I know I do, two of 'em, so I am ready for those schedule conflicts!

As I said on some other thread, I don't get home from teaching til after 10 on Tuesday, but I WILL watch the tape. Promise.

I don't have a water cooler, so I'm no use to you there. Sorry.
I have a bird bath, numerous wild birds, a pond with fish, and a friendly squirrel, none of whom watch TV. I do, however, know lots of hot babes connected by email...

I'm sorry, but I'm LMAO here. . . Just when I was feeling all warm and fuzzy because OFG went out of her way to make shakes feel better, along comes IceCat to knock him down a peg again. . .

For what it's worth, clown, I DO love That 70's Show and Grounded for Life, and I think Undeclared has at least one of the UCB players in it, so I'll definitely watch that--and despite my initial inclinations, if I'm still awake at 9:00, I'll make a point of watching your little ho'fest, too--maybe I'll help put it into the double digits, eh?

No, wait--I bet I'd have to be Neilsen family to make a difference. . . Well, it's the THOUGHT that counts, right?

Sorry they screwed you, shakes--but I'm sure you'll find a way to capitalize on this SOMEHOW!

Well Bozo, I'm trying my level best to feel sorry for you and for the most part....I do! Surprize?!!?

But come on....in the first place this was FOX! Although I can see how the "weight" of the MTV Road Rules/Real World gal/guy team could have influenced your decision. Wrongo---they got their moola up front and couldn't care less.

It's a low-down, dirty, rotten shame what those Yahoos have done to your bid for teevee 15 minutes of fame. But I also have (and know how to use) two vcrs so I won't be missing a moment of Michael and the other other loved-starved members of the Cruise.

Dalton

PS. Being a country/western music fan --- I was fooling around with a "theme song" for you...a version of "Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places". But being a "Republican" and a "Lady" I managed to restrain myself!! LOL.

LOVE THAT SONG! Sorry to be deprived of the Dalton verson, as it sounds quite apt for the subject. In fact, I find I am now humming the tune in my head...

Damn! This is irritating!!! I would love to watch this show - but I'm going to have a very difficult time trying to talk hubby into watching it two nights in a row right off the bat. Is it on at the same time as Amazing Race? For Christ's sake - I have reading and studying to do. I can't afford to watch TV every night of the fuggin week!!! It's almost as if Fox doesn't WANT people to be able to follow it. Reality TV just doesn't get the respect it deserves. I'm actually sorry Shakes that the quality of your coveted 15 minutes will have to suffer because of network stupidity. Aaargh!

The schedule definitely blows... I'm just wondering why they couldn't have simply bumped it all back since it's only two weeks behind schedule? I'm looking at the schedule and it shows THREE back-to-back episodes while it's only TWO weeks behind the original premiere date.

Hopefully it will show enough to allow your show to come back as part 2... but of course that's absolutely no consolation for yourself with a scrunched-up schedule of media ho-dom. I'm hoping that you will make a significant enough impression to get yourself onto one of the late-night talk shows (Leno, Letterman, Conan, etc.) as that'd be a hoot to see how you get along with these guys!

I'd bet our Mike gets interviewed by Howard Stern. Stern is a big reality tv fan and loved Temptation Island, I think he had some of the cast from that show on his.
Ohhh maybe your Dallas fans can get you on RussMartin.
(dang that Fox for having no late night talk show guy)
