"DWTS#7, Episode 4, ECST"

Please limit discussion of tonight's Mambos and Paso Dobles here until the West Coast have either bleached their eyes from seeing what havoc Cloris reaped tonight, or their ears flushed so that the cotton/other stuff put in to block out how horrible that orchestra is is removed again.........

Also, Snidget has volunteered to segcap tonight, I'm pre-empted due to the Steeler Monday Night Football game (I know it's on ESPN, but it's practically a requirement that all Steeler games air on a broadcast network, so tonight since it's on ESPN it's on the ABC affiliate as well......) Anyone else who wants to help her out would be appreciated, I imagine........

All help possible is welcome.

ET said rumbas rather than mambos (didn't they do mambos already?) and with the paso doble the level of incompressible music is going to be off the charts.

any snark about TAR is welcome as well, I've got the summary started, but taking a break for this.

I brought drinks if that'll help. I'm still a little woosie from the SYTYCD marathon this weekend.

Bartender, around on me! What'll it be?

Last week outrageous, but no fun for the eliminated.

Rumba and Paso Dobles. Just 4 days to train. Live This is Dancing With the Stars.

Shortest time ever to prepare and we get costume preview.

Toni got into Edyta's costume closet. Cloris looks stuffed into that costume.

My heavens ... Kym's smuggling some bongos in her top. Clearly she's allergic to those bug bites on her ta-tas!

Who will faint first, I wonder???

First time they gave them these dances this early.

Len thinks last week was tough but this week is tougher. He is fearing the worst.

Tom says it is the nicest he will be all night.

"Toni and Alec"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:05 PM
Alec promised her if they got past the first week Alec had to do something out of his comfort zone and sing.

*AAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!*

My ears, they are bleeding already!!!!

Rumba to "I Can’t Make You Love Me"

"RE: Toni and Alec"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:07 PM
Tom gives Alec's singing a 2.

Len was surprised at how good that was. Great chemistry. Wanted a tad more basic dancing.

Bruno. Captured the sensuality of a something or other mistress. Be careful on the transitions and a bit more basics.

Carrie Ann. You move like you sing. Passion and groundedness. Lift police, there were two lifts.

Only a real man could sing that badly for his partner. Ye gads.
The dance was lovely though. Like warm cocoa.

"Brooke and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:13 PM
They had the first 9s what about this week?

She says the bar is set high so the pressure is on. Derek took her to a karate lesson to work on her aggression.

Dancing to Oh what is the commercial that uses this piece of classical music I can't remember the name of.

"RE: Brooke and Derek"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:15 PM
Carrie Ann. Mesmerized. Your line is gorgeous. You were a hair off balance in the hold.

Len. Two dances opposite of the scale. I think you portrayed the aggression well it was controlled. Too much messing about start and end.

Bruno. You are born to dance and the timing of the song is unbelievable. To keep up with that a professional would take weeks.

"Rocco and Karina"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:23 PM
He is having a hard time channeling the emotion. Brought her to the kitchen to show her where he is most romantic.

Hes is in an apron and she's in a coat to start.

Rocco can cook for me anytime - clearly he is passionate - but dancing, loving, not so, much. He is just to stiff in the middle. I kept thinking his costume would have been better if it had a tucked shirt with Maks-pants, but then you'd really see how little fluidity there is.

Bring on the puns.

"RE: Rocco and Karina"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:25 PM
Bruno. The Stallion has run out of juice. The hip action poor, the rumba walks were poor and it just didn't happen.

Carrie Ann. There is something natural about you. What is lacking is musicality, you weren't quite with the sway.

Len says you are smiling but I know what you are thinking. Tom says he has sharp knives in the car that is what he is thinking. It wasn't really tasty with the ingredients you have.

"Lance and Lacey"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:32 PM
Paso about the cape and the matador. No cape say Lance and no bull horns. They don't want to lose who they are.

The steps have to be perfect they say since they are off script.

Dancing to "I Kissed a Girl"

Someone has a sense of humor of some description.

"RE: Lance and Lacey"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:35 PM
Had a bit of green screen for awhile during the dance. That was different.

Len I know your game and throw in a few things to keep the old guy happy with a bunch of other stuff and it doesn't work.

Tom's offering complimentary blood pressure checks.

Carrie Ann. I thought it was clever. The end threw me off, you take big risks. The beginning was unnecessary for me.

Bruno. You go 100% You have to keep the style going. Did they just bleep Bruno? Watch it.

And Tom was worried about Cloris.

Oh my Lacey.

Loved the music choice, and the choreography. They really attacked it. I liked it.

Still not a Lacey fan, wonder how Lance would do with Karina or Cheryl.

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

I was too distracted by the choice of THAT song for Lance that I just couldn't pay attention to what they were doing.

"Kim and Mark"

No where to go butt up from here.

So they brought in the Pussy Cat Dolls creator to shake her back into her sexiness.

Dancing to "You Give Me Something"

"RE: Kim and Mark"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:45 PM
I really don't like the over wrap of white tattered fabric on that dress.

Bruno. The Pussy Cat Dead. Colder than Siberia. Get the character and sell it. (echo in the audio).

Len. Have so much potential. And it is just a little bit cold. Chemistry and hip action.

Carrie Ann. What you have to do is watch play back. I want you to do well, watch yourself on tape and figure out a way to bring more to the dance floor.

Bruno. Be in the moment

"RE: Kim and Mark"
Posted by whimsey on 09-29-08 at 08:46 PM
Carrie Anne is right, she should watch the playback and see how she looks. She does have tremendous potential, and no clue.

She says she doesn't know anything but attack. He went to the game and talked to her coach.

Rehearsal not going well. She says sometimes a coach being hard on you really works in the end.

Dancing to "Take Me Out"

"RE: Misty and Maksim"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 08:56 PM
I wish she would extend her arms all the way out.

Carrie Ann. Thank you that is the kind of energy and determination I like to see. Ambitious routine for week 2. He says they need to step it up. Love the attack work on the shoulders.

Bruno. Xena the Warrior Princess. Love your energy. Work on the finesse and stretch your knee and too much power makes you stumble.

Len. Good attempt. Had aggression. You lose the connection between the two of you. When you are apart connect with each other.

"RE: Misty and Maksim"

Rumba. He says he is a lover. Working on getting the hips right. So she takes him to a belly dancing place to see what hips should do.

Dancing to "Mercy Mercy Me"

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by Snidget on 09-29-08 at 09:02 PM
Len. You talk the talk, but you don't dance the dance. It is a bit rough and lacks finesse.

Carrie Ann. There is an explosion about to happen. The choreography or something was holding you back. Too stiff.

Bruno. You should be Mister Smooth and you were robotic.

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by whimsey on 09-29-08 at 09:06 PM
He is a bit clunky. Don't know if he can loosen up enough. He is eager, has the drive, but I just don't know how smooth he can be.

Is it just me or did that costume eat her neck.

Bruno. Surreal.

Len. Lovely traditional dance to traditional music. Solo spins excellent.

Carrie Ann. I hope when I'm 82 I'm half the woman you are. She is stopping there to keep it happy. One of your assets is your wit and I missed it.

Carrie Ann. I thought it was nice, and you transported us to someplace else. Nice Chest Tony.

Bruno. It was a very good rumba, everything was there. Danced like the virgin queen, more abandon.

Len. Didn't like it when Tony exposed himself. You have to act the part and you did that.

Bruno. Like a kid in the candy store. Everything is there one beat at a time sell it properly. You have the talent, need the focus.

Len. Because you had one night less it lacked a bit of polish. Avert your eyes this boy is on fire.

Carrie Ann. It was an age appropriate rumba it was set right for who you are. Hips could loosen up a bit more.
