I watched most of Orientation the other night. In case anyone forgot, this the one where Desmond runs out of the hatch, Jack follows him and Desmond remembers where he knows Jack from. At the time we didn't know that Jack was divorced. We only knew Jack married Sarah, but they were no longer married. Now we know Sarah left Jack, assume it was because he spent too much time working, and Sarah told him she was seeing someone else. Watching the scene now after all these months it seemed to me that Jack's reaction was too extreme. As soon as Desmond starting asking about Sarah, Jack started to cry and kept yelling "it doesn't matter." By the time Desmond leaves, Jack is almost sobbing. I'm sure he was hurt by the separation and knowing he always wants to fix everything, but this he couldn't fix. But there has to be more. I think there were a couple of other times Jack has mentioned his marriage, but right now the only time I can think of was when Sun lost her wedding ring and he told her about losing his. He didn't tear up that time.
So why was he so upset when Desmond brought it up? Was it only because Desmond brought him back to the beginning of their relationship when he did fix Sarah? Either it is that or the breakup was more hurtful than we've seen. I can't get out of my mind that Christian called Ana Lucia, Sarah. Ever since then I keep thinking that drunken Christian consoled lonely Sarah while Jack worked. That would be quite a hurt to get over.
I can't get out of my mind that Christian called Ana Lucia, Sarah.I think Anna Lucia, for one reason or another, didn't want her identity revealed.
I don't know, I don't have anything to add, just wanted you to know that I'm still checking in...
