"DWTS#7, Episode 2, ECST"

Tonight, 13 becomes 12. Those who did Latin (Cha Cha Cha) must do Ballroom. Those who did Ballroom (Fox Trot) must do Latin. Tonight we vote again. Whoever is the lowest combined score after tonight gets the Red Light of Doom at the end of the Night of Filler tomorrow.

Start now, drink lots of shots, otherwise it is going to be painful.

There was a 2-for-1 sale at the wine shop. Got plenty.

"Lance and Lacey"

Looks like they're gonna announce them being safe as each one gets to come out, I guess........

Dancing the Quickstep to..... I dunno.

"RE: Lance and Lacey"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 09:04 PM
WTF music was that??

I thought that was fun and had pretty good speed compared to what a lot of people do as a not-so-quick kinda stepping.

Believe it or not, that was The Cure - Close to Me.

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

Seemed a bit sloppy to me. Maybe Lance should have had Cheryl Burke as a partner.

"RE: Lance and Lacey"

Scores: 7-6-8 for 21

Len still in fuddy duddy mode...... this time, Carrie Ann was slightly agreeing with Len.......

This is the first week.

I know my music knowledge svcks, but this band is atrocious, and the condensed songs for these dances do not help.

"Misty and Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:11 PM
Yes, Maks did wear black pants last night..........

Dancing the Mambo to "Black Mambo", I guess (phone ringing interference)

"RE: Misty and Maksim"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 09:12 PM
I like that he really let her be featured solo in the dance. She did a really good job.

"RE: Misty and Maksim"
Posted by whimsey on 09-23-08 at 09:13 PM
really liked it. But I think she needs ballet or something to loosen her up.

"RE: Misty and Maksim"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:17 PM
Scores: 7-7-7 for 21.

Sorry, I don't have an answering machine up here, so I had to call back and talk...... call's over now.

"RE: Misty and Maksim"

Who would phone you and interrupt reality tv night? SHEESH.

Bruno actually is making sense this season. I think I should be scared.

"Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:21 PM
Maurice likes the Mambo better!

Dancing the Mambo to.... I dunno. Jerk, Baby? Backbone Slip, Baby?

Maurice did the Worm!

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by whimsey on 09-23-08 at 09:23 PM
No worm in ballroom.

He is learning, though, maybe he should be in the ballet class with Misty.

Loved Helio in the audience.

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 09:23 PM
Fun, not sure if the technique was that good. I like that he is loosened up. I think that really helps that we can tell he's having fun, and you can add technique in, but it is hard sometimes to loosen up someone scared stiff.

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:24 PM
Scores: 7-7-7 for a score of 21.

"RE: Maurice and Cheryl"

Too bad this isn't black jack with all the 21's we've seen tonight.

and last night........

"Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:30 PM
Last night's leaders. Brooke's chest should never touch Derrick's in the Quickstep? So, Derrick uses baby Shia as a buffer between them....... poor kid.

Dancing the Quickstep to "Lover, Come to Me"?

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by whimsey on 09-23-08 at 09:31 PM
Excellent!

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:34 PM
Scores: 9-8-9 for 26, first 9s of the season, highest total of the season to date. Obviously, our current leaders.

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 09:35 PM
Only man in America that wants Brooke to keep her boobies off of him.

That was really pretty good, maybe we have finally broken the model curse!

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by observer on 09-24-08 at 00:48 AM
I think the producers have already decided that this pair will win.

The choreography for their dance wasn't very good: it was boring.

Brooke's teeth and breasts looke fake.

What field is Brooke in: does she act or sing? I've never heard of her.

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by vince3 on 09-24-08 at 01:00 AM
Her current gig is the female host of Fox's Hole in the Wall.

She also used to host NBC's Dog Eat Dog

PSST! That was Brooke Burns in Dog Eat Dog. How I know -- I just lost an expensive bet

"RE: Brooke and Derrick"
Posted by observer on 09-24-08 at 02:19 AM
I watched the first episode of Hole in the Wall. It's not a very good show. There were three women competing against three male little people. The hostess was walking around on her knees so that she was at the same level as the male little people. She wore knee pads.

I didn't notice or remember her name.

Batten down the hatches, folks!

She's actually older than the Mambo? Ouchie!

Dancing the Mambo to "Cocoanut Woman" (That's gonna summon Coco, isn't it?)

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 09:44 PM
She gave them $10 each for better scores? *snerk*

Scores after the break. (it took that long to get the judging over with considering her antics.......)

"RE: Cloris and Corky"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 09:45 PM
At least of the people on the show for comic relief she really does bring the comedy. I hope she sticks around a few weeks.

"RE: Cloris and Corky"

Scores, finally: 6-5-5 for another 16.

The C and C Comedy Factory is in full force.

Ms. Leachman rivals Master P in her ability *not* to dance. Poor Mr. Ballas, just give the man the disco ball and let him go home, for goodness sake.

"Toni and Alec"

Tied for 2nd best last night.

She's having breathing difficulties during practice....... *gulp*

Dancing the Quickstep to "Blue Sky"? (Days?)

Enough, already, with the heart stuff. You are here now, work it out, girl, work it out.

They do move well together, very nice.

"Warren and Kym"

Dancing the Quickstep to "Ding-Dong Daddy"?

A lot better than I thought a "fat boy" would do.

I'm a bad person. I can't watch an ad for that show without hoping just a little that he really does off himself on live TV.

ETA. Blain, not Ted, Ted just kills shows.

But..heaven help me, Mambo McGinley, no.

Ted stood in place while his partner danced around him.

"Cody and Julianne"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 10:19 PM
The two lowest scores from last night (Rocco and Jeffrey) are still on the steps waiting their turn.......

Cody is actually too loose..... she needs him to tighten up!

Dancing the Quickstep to "I Want You To Want Me"

"RE: Cody and Julianne"

Scores: 8-7-8 for a total of 23!

Odds are now very good that Jeffrey's toast, unless something weird happened.......

"RE: Rocco and Karina"

Scores: 7-7-7 for 21. BIG improvement from last night!

"RE: Rocco and Karina"
Posted by Snidget on 09-23-08 at 10:33 PM
Yep, this format has to be really nerve wracking not knowing if you are going to dance.

The longer this goes on the worse it looks for Jeffrey.

"Susan and Tony"

"RE: Susan and Tony"
Posted by vince3 on 09-23-08 at 10:43 PM
Unless Kim Kardashian's fans failed to vote for her, Jeffrey's the eliminated party, and Kim's the last dancer

Scores: 7-7-8 for 22! Another 7 point improvement!

I read online that Susan Lucci was a musical theatre major in college.
Also, when a Broadway show choreagrapher saw Susan Lucci in "Annie Get Your Gun" on Broadway, he was impressed with her dancing.

"Kim and Mark"

Jeffrey and Edyta are eliminated after the heartbeat music.....

Kim and Mark are dancing the Mambo to "Baby Got Back" (sped up version)

Oh dear, call the EMTs I think I am hallucinating from alcohol poisoning.

I swear Kim was dancing to "Baby Got Back".

That can't be right.

Like a Cadillac with no gas .... just not performing. Has all the right elements, no clue what to do with them.

"RE: Kim and Mark"

SIGH -- and I am supremely disappointed in Mark -- he should have choreographed some actual Mambo steps for her to dance.

"RE: No Edyta for the rest of the season??"
Posted by mindy23 on 09-24-08 at 09:54 AM
That's it. My husband will insist on NCIS or some other program now!!!

Haveta say-fair enough. Wonder if the poking in the eye was choreographed by her?? (Does she have another gig somewhere else?) JUST KIDDING! At least we're done with the bad jokes.
