"James and Jai?"

I heard that they were seen together. Anyone know how things are going with James? Did he have fun on his trip with they guy he picked? Is he dating Jai from Queer Eye?

Dan!! *smooch*

Not enough people care about how James is doing I guess. I thought surely someone on this board would know the latest. I loved this show, Playing it Straight and Queer Eye. IMHO they help break down the stereotypes. What do you think?

I didn't see Boy Meets Boy cuz ain't got no cable.

I found most of the guys on PIS annoying, and the production itself was dead (about all they did was fight about who was gay and who wasn't). I did like the hot tub scene with whats-his-name in his underwear. The woman in PIS had all the charisma of a weed eater.

IMHO, I believe that Queer Eye perpetuates stereotypes, but not in a bad way. It shows the fun and acceptability of those stereotypes. It shows that those stereotypes are of value to society. In the past, being into interior design or hair stuff was a point of mockery; Queer Eye has turned those things into something to celebrate. Like in the late 1960s and early 1970s, it was taboo for African American men to tap dance; Gregory Hines managed to turn that stereotype into something worth celebrating. What Gregory Hines did for tap, I believe the guys of Queer Eye are doing for gay stereotypes.
I used to build miniature floats for pretend parades when I was a kid. In a town of 150, that's a bit odd. I also twirled baton in grade school (I became the class mascot--they were too young and too sheltered to be homophobic). I went through my time of horror that I did that, but now I celebrate it, thanks in part to Queer Eye.

Now I'll go PM you that I answered this.

I just think that BMB and PIS show that not every gay man talks and acts like Jack on "Will and Grace".

I love Queer Eye. Although the professions of the gay men do fall under the sterotypical 'gay' professions, the men themselves don't. I love Carson. He's hysterical but he does talk and act like the sterotypical gay characters on TV (Jack for example). I think Kyan is beautiful and not someone that people would immediately thing 'gay'. Ted is funny and other one that people wouldn't immediately start trying to figure out his sexual preference. Tom is another one who fits in that category. I am just amazed at Tom's talent and creativity! He is so good at understanding people's personality and creating a decor that fits that person. Jai is just adorable. He's someone I would love to be friends with. He's so caring and thoughtful!

I'm just thrilled that QE had become such a big hit. I've been watching it since day 1.

What?? Not all gay men are like Jack??
*snicker* There was this arrogant diquehead at this gay church I used to go to, who pronounced quite loudly, "I'm more of a Will than a Jack, but every thinks I'm more like Jack." We all said spontaneously in unison, "You're Jack!!" Poor guy didn't know what to do. He is a Jack clone.

Tom's work is amazing, though. Did you see what they did to the Tonight Show set? Certainly improved it, and made the old set look like 1960's airport. But, they went back to the old set. The new set was also very conversation-friendly, but....

*waves* to rabbit and Dan!

Didn't mean to interrupt your conversation here, but I thought I would just say HI!

I think James and Jai would make a really cute couple! They both seem totally sweet and I wish them the happiest of happy if they are indeed together!

*smooshy booshes* to you both!

*waves* to silverstar and dan.

Love to have you join our conversation. I think James and Jai would make a great couple! I agree they both seem like very sweet guys just like Dan!

Carson cracks me up! I love his "crouching tiger, hidden drag queen" comment and when he asked the one guy where he bought his shirts and the guy said Kmart, Carson acted like he'd just said a very offensive cuss word. Thom cracks me up too.

Hi all. I'm still blushing.

From QE, my personal favorite scenes is when the victim, er, client, is in the bathroom getting ready.

Thanks for the flowers dan! They sure are purty!

How you doin rabbit?

My favorite QE moment was from an episode a couple weeks ago (?) where Carson was holding a cup up to the guys mouth pretending to make him drink it and he said "Drink your juice Shelby" If you've never seen Steel Magnolias, you wouldn't get it. But I almost seriously fell of the couch LMAO!!

It's more fun to discuss it over here cuz we can whisper and eat our smores and put makeup on each other and make silly phone calls to stores and talk about boys.

Mmmm smores! Have you tried those new pre-made candy bar like smores? I thought it was pretty good, but nothing compared to a real smore. Reminded me of a 3 musketeers bar.

No eye makeup for me though! My eye surgery is in 5 days!!

I remember when I had my eye surgery. I had to wear my glasses for a week prior. I remember I couldn't wear eye makeup after the surgery but not before. It's almost been 5 years and my memory is not that good.

They actually only said not to wear makeup for the day before and day of, but I want to be as careful as I can, so I haven't worn it for 2 days before!

I saw Steel Magnolias years ago and I can't remember the juice part. Clue me in!

The Julia Roberts character was diabetic, and there was a big scene where she went crazy due to low blood sugar, and the above line was said when Sally Field gave Julia some orange juice. Calmed Julia right down.

The best scene from Steel Magnolias had to be the locker room scene. And not just the naked bodies either, but both Shirley McClaine and Olypia Dukakis--good stuff, but the surfeit of bodies gave it that Oscar-winning touch.

I like that part too. LOL! I've missed a couple of weeks so I need to go set my Tivo to record it. The new episodes come out on Tuesday's and I'm usually watching AI or 24. Good thing Bravo repeats episodes like MTV does.

I wouldn't be surprised if James and Jai were seen together, but that doesn't mean they are together. Jai and Robb are very good friends. Robb and James have been hanging out together while James was in New York for his Play (My Big Gay Italian Wedding).
