Apparently mentioning it over and over (not that he is promoting his career!) is not enough.....Paul is going to take Lisa to the play that he is not promoting: http://www.playbill.com/news/article/81190.html

He needs to go! He probably only looks in her eyes so that he can see his own reflection.....

LOL, I have a few skills! I found this one by searching google news for 'Cupid' articles.

Ya know, I was with you...when I read the article I thought, OMG..does this guy ever stop???

Then I went to the below website:
http://www.httheater.org/season5/RockShow.html\

I also found that Paul actually won an award in 2001 for another off off Broadway play:
Critical Praise For TOBACCO BAR's 2001 FringeNYC Production of EINSTEIN'S DREAMS - Directed by Paul Stancato, Winner of the 2001 FringeNYC Best Director Award

I think I've probably come to the conclusion that Paul is a talented person in his own right and that his plays are so much a part of him that it is hard for him NOT to talk about them. Besides the guy looks like he has plenty of recognition already, in theater circles, which is his genre. The fact that his current play, the Rockshow, is currently running now while he is away rather than directing is probably constantly on his mind. I'm not sure if the trip to NYC is a publicity stunt or merely his wish to show Lisa who he really is...I mean, what is he going to do..NOT say that he has a play? Hell, if I had a play anywhere NEAR Broadway, you can bet your bottom that I would be bragging about it. That's an accomplishment!

Just my thoughts.

Yeah, that's the article I posted last week...it didn't do anything to make me trust his motives though, made me question them more. I still think he's in it for publicity, and unless I see something from him to convince me otherwise I probably won't be changing my mind anytime soon. Why would he choose to do a (nationally aired) reality dating show when his play is going to be running? Sure, it was already getting some attention, but by being on national tv and talking about it, it's getting introduced to millions of people who would never have heard of it otherwise. That, coupled with the fact that he usually sounds like he's handing Lisa lines that he's been practicing for years, causes me to have some doubts about his sincerity. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my read....I don't trust him, and I'm really glad Laura doesn't either. I hope she keeps calling him on it.

I agree about the lines...they are just too hokey..and rehearsed. I didn't mean to come off like a Paul fan, I'm actually not, I was just surprised that he does seem to be somewhat talented. He is too smooth for me as far as Lisa is concerned..I am definitely for Hank. So even though I somewhat defended him- don't get me wrong- I'm still not sure of his motives, I just am willing to give him more of a chance after seeing the website.

I'm with you Debi. Paul is a writer. Of course he is going to talk about what he does for a living. The shows editors are the ones cutting what we see on TV. I'm sure he doesn't know what they are going to show in the few seconds we get to see of their date. Since Lisa is also a writer I am sure she is interested in what he is doing and happy for his success. Having a play do well and falling in love are not mutually exclusive.
