I sure hope not, but I question this because Jiffy is shown with the idol and it's supposed to be a twist and a straight merge seems too non-twisting.

Three is the perfect number.

From watching the preview, it's hard to believe there's another tribe around somewhere. It looks like E7 is a whole lotta Mogo.

Hmmm, wonder who's going to TC?

"Early merge?"
Posted by TeamJoisey on 03-04-04 at 11:51 PM
He said "at the Reward Challenge"
and yet Jeff is leaning on the Immunity Idyll.
And he says "one more twist."

Please tell me its an early merge, and not the arrival of Johnny Fairplay.

These reality show contestants need a reality check!

The idol strikes me as strange ...

The tribe that currently holds the immunity idol would have been told to bring it to the challenge, no? Then how could it be a surprise for them?

Unless Jeff 'recovered' it from the camp after Sue left, like he did when Saboga was dissolved ...

Jerri and Colby show definite recognition in their eyes. Colby even appears to be waving. Is it for the appearance of Tina and Rudy?
Shii Ann, Lex and Kathy do not show the same recognition. Lex even looks a little mournful. Is it because they notice Jenna M. is (of course) not in the group.

I think the twist is the arrival of the ghost tribe of Rob C., Rudy, and Tina. Further, since none of them are great challenge competitors, I predict that they lose big time against the two remaining tribes and are sent packing again.

I don't think 3 people are enough for a Ghost tribe. It would be better to wait for one or two more boots.

Perhaps there is no RC, but an IC followed immediately by a vote?

Perhaps there is no RC, but 2 ICs?

Perhaps I'm taking stabs in the dark.

perhaps I should shut up before I bring out the clown...

Description of next episode:

- One tribe is misled by Tree Mail, as all the tribes find themselves blindsided by another twist.

- One castaway's grating behavior drives a fellow tribe member crazy.

- Despite suffering the elements on the island, one tribe proves they know how to have a good time.

'all'? Why not both?

"Ah, but..."

A ghost tribe would not be blindsided by their own existence.

What is with the "all"?

No, but they might be blinded by the chance to compete in the challenge. And they'll lose pitifully.

Icecat,

Great minds think alike - I had the exact same thought! Why "all"? I wonder if the twist involves the return of the Saboga tribe in some way. All makes sense for three tribes.

"3 possibilities"
Posted by I_AM_HE on 03-05-04 at 01:26 AM
while I think a simple merge is the easiest answer, 2 others occured to me:

1. as you said, the reformation of saboga for IC/TC purposes

2. the winning tribe gets to pick who on the other tribe gets voted out (this could explain the apparent near boots of colby and ethan when jerri or shii would make a lot more sense if there's not a merge for a few more eps)

I think Colby's just holding on to the flag that's planted in the sand. From what I can tell from above, he's the one carryign it in.

Good obsevations!
I'd love to know if the shot of Shii, Lex and Kathy's nose/mouth was taken at the same time as the shot of Colby and Jerri.
Are they reacting to the same bit of news here? If so, looks good for MM. But that's not to say there may have been good news later for Chappy, we're just not seeing the clips.

I don't think Colby is waving at anything, he is shown in the earlier caps carrying the tribe flag. Most likely he's just leaning against the flagpole.

Edit: Mebbe I should read through everything before I post, what a numbskull I is.

"RE: Ghost tribe arrives?"

My thoughts are on the same line as IceCat's, except I wonder if Colby and Jerri are reacting to booted ASSes or other former Survivors.

We have two Outbackers with this happy "recognition" look that IceCat pointed out:

And we have three non-Outbackers with this "oh crap!" look:

I think the two shots were taken at the same time because if you note in the Shii-shot above, Jerri's shoulder is at the same angle as in the previous pic, with her hands going up to her face. (I also think Colby is holding the flag)

So the Outbackers are pleasantly surprised, the non-Outbackers are not.

Could it be that old non-ASS players are competing in a challenge, and the Aussie's are introduced first, striking fear in the non-Aussies?

If they do show a ghost tribe arriving. It would take a long time to have Jeff say: "Here are some old friends that you'll be competing against (first pic). Unfortunately, Jenna's Mom did pass away so she, of course, is not present (second pic).

Could it be Varner, porno-Brian and Johnny Fairplay showing up and then the news about Jenna's mom?

But, when were the Patagonian travellers spotted? Surely a ghost tribe can't have gone to Patagonia and returned to compete. Does the Patagonia sighting make their presence on this date impossible?

...according to Snewser:

SNN also learned that Richard Hatch, along with those three, left Loser's Lodge around November 21st, presumably to head out for their group vacation. (The other eliminated contestant, 3rd out Jenna Morasca, quit the game to return to the United States and see her dying mother).

But we were also told that Susan Hawk, after quitting the game, reportedly disappeared from Loser's Lodge a day earlier, around November 20th, to an undisclosed location. Perhaps she was not in the mood to party with King Richard.

If that is accurate and Snewser's calendar is accurate, November 20th was Day 18 (the last day of last night's Ep). If the upcoming RC is November 21st, it would be enough time to bring back Tina, Rudy, Rob and Rich to lose the RC challenge and get sent to Patagonia later that day.

Personally I don't think there is going to be a Ghost Tribe twist though.

It could be a ghost tribe, but couldn't the 'twist' be that their reward is immunity? With a double immunity challenge episode? That would get the teams down to merge size...

We have to remember that the challenges/twists were pre-determined before the game began. At this point, technically we should have 3 even teams again...6-6-6 (which is ironic when considering EPMB...lol). 6 Mogo Mogo, 6 Chapera and 6 voted off cast members. Perfect time to throw in the twist from the previous survivor. Did the All-Stars (excluding Rupert) get a chance to see that twist? EPMB had no idea when scheduling All-Stars that things would play out like they have with 2 quitting and leaving the game voluntarily and certainly not Sue's reaction. He would have no choice but to continue as planned.

I think those that will could very well be coming back.

Too much has been made about how overjoyed everyone has been after voting people off, just like last time.

**Edited to add that considering the title, maybe it's just Rich coming back because of Jeff's screw up in the challenge decision. Chapera's look surprised.....Mogo's look very unhappy. Who knows?????

I agree with the first part of your comment. This would be the logical place for the ghost tribe, if determined before the game started. I was just wondering what your meant by "Jeff's screw up in the challenge decision" - what do you mean?

If a ghost tribe comes, wouldn't it include Rich?

But didn't our pre-game spoilers say that there was no food limitation on the losers, so they concluded no ghost tribe? I agree with the comment above - maybe the losers return to participate, but not necessarily to compete.

Welcome, SenecaTurtle. I'm a Terp -- Terrapin, that is. From Univ. Maryland.

1) I don't believe that the sequence of challenges is predetermined. I think MB, or his local producer, have a set of challenges they know they'll do and a planned sequence, but make changes on the fly to promote his soap opera story line. Against this idea is the fact that we saw the big block puzzle search stuff on the ground when Jenna left. Hehe, because of the two quittings, there are at least two challenges that haven't been performed.

2) I thought Rob touched water first, too, vs. Ethan. Not a big deal to the overall challenge result, Chapera won in a landslide.

I am opposed to millionaires, but it would be dangerous to offer me the position. -- Mark Twain

My personal opinion, the ghost tribe comes back but not to necessarily compete or rejoin...somehow they will be influential in the boot of the next person.

Or maybe MB makes an appearance and says "Your all fired."

How about this for the twist. The ghost tribe comes back, whoever the ghost tribe beats they get to vote off someone from the losers. If they beat both teams they get to choose one from each team.

Pure speculation.

I think that the twist is that there are 2 tribes, one men one women. If that is it, it sure will be interesting to see what happens to Rob and Amber (assuming the spoiler isn't correct but is a MB plant)

I read that it is individual immunity, 2 ppl get it, ANY 2 ppl

so if someone from MM wins one and someone from Chap wins one, both go to tribal council and vote someone out, if 2 ppl from MM wins, CHAP votes outr 2 ppl?

comments?

One tribe is misled by Tree Mail, as all the tribes find themselves blindsided by another twist.

Ok One Tribe Misled by tree mail. One tribe thinks that you are to select your 2 stongest players. When they get to RC/IC they find out about the 3rd tribe. Since Sue and Jenna are not there the ghost tribe only has 4 players. Each of the other 2 had to select 2 players 2 sit out. One Tribe Misled by tree mail - will be without the 2 best players and suffers a loss. Either the ghost tribe votes out players or they just go to TC to vote out someone.

Another guess

Doesn't mean much I was just wondering. On CBS web site if you look at the polls who gets voted off. On the 3rd week it say no Survivor voted off, but if you look at last nights it has Sues picture on it. Why would they say Sue was voted when she left on her own just like Jenna. Here is the link.

I just viewed the video preview over at the CBS website and something about the way they say battling for reward AND immunity it leads me to believe that maybe the twist next weeke is that there is only one challenge but it is for both reward and immunity all at once. Does anyone else think this is what the twist next week could be?

"RE: episode 7 preview"

There've been some combined challenges in the past, so maybe there will be one this week, but in itself that doesn't seem like enough to be a "twist."

maybe the
>twist next weeke is that
>there is only one challenge
>but it is for both
>reward and immunity all at
>once.

If it's only one challenge then they have to have something to fill the down time. So it seems likely that the twist is something else, more complicated than that.

Of course they might use spats and smack talk for filler but MB should know by now that gets boring.

It's all about hating Jerri and a water challenge (looks like the one from last season where Savage had to retrieve a flag from the woods).

Maybe the twist is that the reward and immunity challenge will be combined?

This is just a thought but based on the reactions, now that there are four remaining members of each of the three original tribes and the word ALL was used, maybe Saboga is "undissolved." Ethan and Jerri, at first, liked their place on Mogo Mogo but must sense by now that they will be the first to go so would be happy to go back to maneuvering with Jenna and Rupert. They would be back to three tribes with two men and two women on each. Slam me if you wish, it's just a thought.

Long time reader, first time poster since it took me forever to get registered.

I find it hard to believe that the twist could be the ghost tribe. Even if the other tribe members didn't get to see S7, wouldn't Rupert have talked about his experience a bit? The ghost twist was huge and I can't believe he wouldn't have relayed that information to his current tribe, which means Jerri and Ethan would take that information to their new tribe when they dissolved.

I would think both tribes would then be aware of this possibility and not be surprised by it at all.

"RE: VIDCAPS: Survivor All Stars Episode 7 Preview "

Strangest part is that 2 members of Mogo Mogo are happy (Colby and Jerri of all people), while the rest look distressed (Shii Ann, Lex, Kathy's right eyebrow).

I had 2 thoughts:
1) Like others suggested, we have participation from other Survivor non-ASS players in the competition - One of the Australians came out, hence Jerri and Colby actually both being happy over the same thing. Perhaps Lex and Shii-Ann don't feel the same way.

2) They have some form of challenge where there are groups watching 1 or 2 other tribmemates, and the reactions are actually during the challenge.

I don't think they'll do a ghost tribe, but I could see them using previous competitors (maybe a trivia challenge or a rescue challenge that doesn't involve a long stick to get keys to your cell) Or for a really GOOD twist, bring Michael Skupin (sp?) back and let him play since falling into the campfire wasn't exactly his idea. Tell the tribes one of their members will be replaced if they lose. This is what happens when I try for a third thought - I end up in super-speculative territory.

Because MB has brought back the most popular players, I think he would want to get them as much time as possible on camera. This may be an opportunity to get the booted players some extra face time. The challenge vidcaps don’t indicate any outside players participating in the combined challenge so a ghost tribe doesn’t seem to fit.

Since there is only one challenge with alot of time to fill in the show could they be doing something cheesy like a segment were great moments in past shows were replayed and the All Stars would comment on them? This way he could also bring back people like Brian, Mike, and other past players for an appearance also, without involving them in the game.

Posted by VerucaSalt on 03-08-04 at 03:10 PM
I love all the theories that float around but in all honesty I try the hardest to determine what the players are thinking.

I do believe MM will see TC. Now in terms of all the analyzing that I like to do with regard to arcs, editing and story, it appears to me that Lex and Kathy are the glue of this group therefore THEIR decision will probably carry the most weight.

Kathy most certainly has the girls deferring to her and Jerri will defer also to Lex. Lex and Kathy do have some semblance of a discussion relationship going where they check with each other (Kathy was VERY upset that Colby arbitrarily decided something and I think she was bothered that Lex and she did not discuss and we saw Lex explain to Kathy the situation after it happened)

That leaves Ethan and Colby. (I don't include Jerri for two reasons. First, she is featured too heavily for my liking as a boot and second, she basically told Lex she'll do whatever he wants and Kathy WANTS the girls around for her own leverage)

Ethan - Ethan is in a precarious situation and everyone knows this. Being a past winner is digging your own grave but he is all alone and no threat (unless at individual challenges and so is Colby) The NON existence of Lex and Ethan's friendship bothers me; we know they have one so what else aren't we seeing. If we (or I) believe that Lex (and Kathy) is the power on MM, then I would suspect Lex would WANT Ethan still there because of their past history AND because he is easier to control unlike.........

Colby - the newly touted Richard Hatch (by Jerri) We already know Jerri wants Colby gone. We already know Kathy was very annoyed by Colby's power trip and it is no secret how SA feels. Kathy's only pause for thought was getting rid of Colby and coming back to deal with the ramifications at that time. Lex most certainly wants to be in charge and it appears that Colby is certainly dictating up a storm in some areas.

Now grant it, Ethan took a semi backseat last episode but frankly that was never a rule that always worked any way.

Colby got some real negative "stuff" last week and also when he was in contention to be booted. Ethan has been shown to be in the hot seat since Day One. Jerri is now being touted as the utter annoyance to people.

We may see A LOT of focus on Jerri with dribs of some others and we may even see ETHAN being the cause of the IC/RC loss which would most certainly put him back in the driver's seat as a bootee to the audience(along with Jerri).

I'm leaning heavily towards Colby because of how the players may be thinking though, OFG theory, SNN Scorecard, etc. are all interesting and valid indicators, I guess I'm more inclined to think what would Lex and Kathy ultimately decide and I think it is important that Lex/Ethan have a prior relationship, Ethan is a dead man walking at any time b/c of his prior winner status and Ethan is probably more controllable than Colby is.

VS, you make good points and from the game perspective, I agree with you. I do think that Lex and Kathy have the power and it will be intesting to see how that pans out.

The thing that bothers me is that Lex seems to be playing the game better this time around than he did the first time and I don't want to see him do something he is going to regret. I find it curious as to why Lex would let the power go (power I mean the challenge power as in Colby and Ethan). Also, if this happens Lex has to know that he has lost his advantage (as you say though, we don't know what we are not shown).

I just think it is a huge mistake for Mogo to get rid of either Colby or Ethan at this time. If this happens, then I will have to blame Lex for it. I hope it plays out to a 3-3 tie at TC and the men are on the short end of the rock!

Don't Snewser's changes to the Scorecard today point to a possible tie?

Whoops!!! I just checked. It has changed again and now Jerri, Colby and Ethan are all covered by the "Lo que viene volando.... volando va" quote. Hmmmm....

Darn you Veruca! Just when I was ready to vote for Ethan to be the next bootee you come up with such valid points for it being Colby instead. I actually have been thinking all weekend that the next boot would be either Ethan or Colby but could not decide which one. Just when I had decided to finally go with my first choice of Ethan you make such strong arguments that it may indeed be Colby going this week.

So much to think about......I agree with you that Ethan is more controllable than Colby and seems that Lex would choose to keep him (due to their previous alliance) over Colby. But I just keep thinking that the "I blew it" remark comes from Ethan and will be the reason behind voting him out. Of course, I could be way off in my reasoning.

I also agree with you 100% that it will not be Jerri who is voted off this week, as she is having so much time in the promos, but I wish I was not struggling with this weeks boot so much.

Heck, I picked Richard when most everyone here was still thinking it would be Sue (before KB changed his mind) and didn't have nearly this hard of a time making up my mind as to who to vote for, so why does this weeks pick seem so difficult?!? Are others as torn in their decision or does it seem fairly definitive to everyone who is next to go?

I'm sorry bd and you should stick with you think

Like I said, I like to go by the editing, etc. so my thoughts on Colby going is based on what I have seen. I would also find it very ironic if Colby's confessional on the rationale as to WHY MM selected Jerri and Colby (I believe Colby said they were their picks because both of them had really no one else and could be controlled) would come back and haunt him

Edited b/c of another interesting Colby comment when talking to SA about her "coasting" strategy and he has no respect for that but acknowledged to her that if that is her game, good for her, it was easy and she would go far (or something to that effect) with that. Very opposite of his NOW open game play. We were shown early a very UTR Colby and then a sudden emergence of a different player. Perhaps he should have stuck with SA's game play

Let's say that there is a tie for this weekend...Lex, Cathy, and Colby vote for Ethan, and Ethan, Jerri, and Shii-devil vote for Colby...how many previous votes have Colby and Ethan both received? Colby - one vote(from Dicque), Ethan-I know that both Rupert and Rudy both voted for Ethan....so Ethan would go home if it is a tie?

Also VS, if you put any stock into the OFG theory, Colby would be safe this week....???

Flower, I don't much stock in any of theories, I'm sorry I don't (where is misto when I need her) I think they *could* be valid and I know are very popular along with the scorecard (spoiling the spoilers) key confessional as the winner, etc. but I've always done my best when watching the show and analyzing the players and their patterns/motives combined with the editing thrown in. I think I mentioned the OFG is valid for some but I don't analyze the show that way.

I also don't change my mind which is and isn't good I may have someone and will stick with them rather than changing due to a sudden shift in the scorecard or a boot list or a person claiming something because I DO believe in the story/editing (my bad )

With that, Colby is my pick (right or wrong) for the reasons I stated. The boot list is good tool but we know not mistake proof (Chill One's Christy anyone?) but the three main contenders of the boot lists are C/E/J which makes sense. I find Colby to be the one in the most danger because of the player's motives/personalities and the storyline editing that is being shown to us from BOTH tribes mind you (you don't think that I'm still not waiting with bated breath for the Ethan and Rob M. reunion as I outlined in my editing thread? The pretty boy comments, the attack on the plank was just not enough for me but who knows) and for me, Colby fits the bill

VS, you are certainly a girl that has earned her respect on these boards, and your opinions are quite valid. I was leaning toward an Ethan boot (Jerri was not considered by me, as her big promotion on the previews), but your logic is quite sound. It's indeed a close call, but I may be leaning toward a Colby boot now. Jerri, Shii Ann, and Kathy, I think all would prefer to boot Colby, and we know Ethan will jump on board with that ship....I do think this will be the downfall of Mogo Mogo, and lead to it's demise, one survivor at a time....UNLESS, there is a surprise shuffle!

I always welcome your opinions on these boards, you are able to shed light on all possible alternatives and bring remarkable insight.

OFG is Outfront Girl, a poster here. Her theory was that, sometimes, the next bootee is in the previews but not necessarily the object of the previews. They aren't the subject - they just happened to be in the clips, for no apparent reason.

OFG hasn't been around this season. Too bad, too, because she's a great spoiler and a very nice person. Her voice is missed around here.

I find it interesting that you are using OFG's theory in sticking with Ethan as your boot choice this week instead of Colby. You might find it even more interesting that OFG picked Colby.

Pokey,

I did see OFG's boot pick and I'm aghast! it seems OFG has forgotten her own Theroy. She's been away too long...

As the girl herself would tell you, the theory by itself is best used in support of other evidence and shouldn't be used as primary evidence for a boot pick. But, I've always been a big fan of OFG and her theory so I'm picking Ethan in honor of her return to the board.

S8 has brought back OFG and Dalton and if GeorgeTirebiter shows up to round out a good chuck of the original Basher Babes (thank God Bebo never left us!), well, I might just get giddy!

And I don't do giddy.

Certainly wasn't a shot at you, by any means, that's the clown's job.

I agree, OFG's has been a fairly sound theory, and definitely worth your honoring, even when she doesn't follow it herself. Her posts, as well as those of the aforementioned "babes", have been a positive influence on these boards for some time. Although my posting has been minimal since S2 days (amazing what 2 newborns will do to eliminating free time) I have maintained "lurker status" and enjoyed the posts and theories/banter from most folks here at SB.

Regarding the original Basher Babes: Hell, I remember back when many posters thought GT was a guy.

Thinking back even earlier: If you ever figure out a way to bring back a former poster named "ItzLisa" to the boards, I'll do giddy right there with you...whether giddy likes it or not!

FP, I was thinking more along the lines of males vs. females. The fact that we have Kathy and Lex with the power. Kathy has Jerri and Shii Ann in her pocket and they will do whatever she tells them. Also, Colby and Ethan are smart enough to stick together if they have to. Ethan is for voting out anyone but Ethan.

I see no way that Shii Ann would side with Ethan or Jerri. Last episode she told Kathy that she (Kathy) was the most powerful...why would she go against the power?

Just my thoughts.

I saw that too. It has been discussed earlier in this thread that Kathy and Lex have the control over the others on their tribe and I agree with that assessment.

I am merely saying that it is going to be interesting to see how Kathy and Lex come to agreement in who goes next.

Am I missing your point?

Thank you flower, very appreciated

There is definitely valid reason for both Ethan and Colby (as far as I am concerned, annoyance for Jerri would not be valid enough) so I think either choice is a rational and solid choice. Being my stubborn self, unless I see a vote card with Ethan's name written on that someone managed to find in the jungles of Panama, I'd rather stick with my choice than hedge at the end; makes for a very painful Thursday

Ethan will vote for anyone as long as he is safe. The pattern has been established. Did you see how he deferred to Colby in the Hatch plot? SA and Jerri as already stated are solidly with the females and Lex is as well. The bottom line is really who is Lex and therefore Kathy as well thinking and will they agree on it?

I noticed that when Kathy was annoyed about Colby's unilateral decision, Lex indicated to Kathy that Colby really made that decision but ever the diplomat, Lex indicated that he had wanted Hatch gone from the get go. Kathy can forgive Lex but I don't think she is forgetting what Colby did as evidenced in the water discussion reiterating her thoughts.

Ethan is a past winner and a desperate one. I just can't get past Lex's past relationship with him as well as the looming irony of Ethan and Jerri both outlasting the person who told the audience why they were selected.

I think they are both solid choices for varying reasons.

It just makes it hard for me this week since your thoughts are so logical that you almost have me convinced to change my mind to Colby! But I think you are correct in that I should stick with my first gut instinct. Otherwise it may make for a painful viewing experiene on Thursday. Although, I may be wishing I'd let you change my mind come Thursday night (hee, hee). Anyways, thanks for all the great observations and logical deduction. I think Ethan would go next only if, as I said somewhere else, Mogo Mogo reverts to Plan A, having decided to implement Plan B first to get rid of Rich. *But*, we must remember that at TC it was ultimately between Plan B and Plan C, which put Colby in danger. Colby knew this as well, if you look at his comment when he voted for Rich.

Given that the previews are hyping more discord at Mogo Mogo, it seems less likely that the original Mogos will just happily agree on the earlier plan to boot Ethan. There will be more "scrambling", imo.

Going for the moment with the general speculation that Ethan, Jerri and Colby are the next three to go, and noting VS's salient comments about the editing, I'd lean toward the boot order for these three being: Colby, then Jerri, then Ethan -- if there is a merge in Ep 10. If there is a merge in Ep 9, I'd guess Ethan goes second, before Jerri.

Of course these may *not* be the next three, especially if the merge is delayed even longer, but if they are, that order would be my guess right now.

***edited for clarity (waves to volsfan).

MB does love irony... Words coming back to haunt a player is a favorite editing technique. ;)

One other point: Rob C and Richard were both featured in confessionals in the previews on their boot week. Rob C spoke about Rob M and Amber doing "it" while Richard had the "how dare you plot against me" speech. This week, there are two players featured in confessionals directed at Jerri: Shii-Ann and Colby. We know Shii-Ann is not going anywhere just yet.

I agree: each of the other four has had some "negativity" on the part of other players attached to them in the editing; I wouldn't be surprised if all four are played up as possible boots this week. We've seen no negative vibes being directed at Kathy or Lex (yet).

I was thinking Shi Ann but after reading above I can't make up my mind. I don't see how MM can risk getting weaker, if they get rid of Colby and then start losing IC then they are done. I think the smart move would be to get rid of who you can't trust not to stay loyal to the tribe. Who jumps ship once the merge happens, the one who has done it before, Shi Ann. Jerri would seem logical b/c she is weak, but you can control her easily. If they get rid of Colby it will be the downfall of the tribe, Lex & Ethan can't beat Rob, Rupert & Tom. So much rides on this vote for MM.

Just one more little thing to throw in the mix. Not sure if it has already been discussed or even if it means anything, but - here goes:

There's an article over on Snewser's about Colby's appearance on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - here's the link:
http://www.survivornews.net/news.php?id=776

This part of the story got me thinking:
>>"This appearance is unusual, and we're not talking about the irreverant humor. Colby is not only under a strict contract that allows CBS to veto all of his media appearances (HBO is owned by Time-Warner, a competitor of CBS parent company Viacom), but he has not even been voted off the show yet; truly a first for the heavily controlled Survivors on the CBS plantation.

Did Colby make a sweet deal with the powers that be, allowing him to further his acting career in this manner?

If so, it heralds a remarkable change in flexibility on the part of The Eye. Unlikely."<<

I would think CBS for sure wouldn't have allowed it if Colby stays on Survivor any longer than this week. So perhaps it adds to the evidence that Colby is next. Or not. No one thing is definitive evidence of anything.

Anyway I still think Ethan is next. Going with my gut.

I don't know a thing about Curb Your Enthusiasm, but is it at all possible that the show was taped prior to Colby heading off for A.S.S. If so, I'd say they were in the clear to air it whenever they wanted to. I mean, Schick runs the Colby commercial whenever they want. The A.S.S. cast is, after all, comprised of mini-celebrities.

Well I got thinking. Does anyone think that the twist is that the two tribes comepete indivudually but within their tribes.... meaning both tribes go to TC and one person from each tribe is booted while one from each tribe also holds immunity.

I think that the title of the episode is vlown out of proportion... and theyre trying to mkae us think too much about it.

With that being said, I think that Lex tells Shi-ann to boot Colby. Lets not forget Lex and Ethan are from the same season... = alliance (for the time being)? Lex wants to be the last male mogo mogo member.

What do y'all think?

However, I don't think HBO would find out when Colby would be booted from SEEBS or MB,just to air the episode the week he is gone from A$$. IMHO!

I don't think they would let HBO know when he gets the boot. Does anyone think so?

Here my line of thinking, feel free to pick holes in it:

Ethan is the boot. Colby approached ethan to vote off dicque. Ethan and Colby have an understanding of sorts. The rest of the tribe can be easily swung to vote ethan as he was the pick the last tc they went to before colby changed things. If they vote off ethan, then colby has no ally to help swing votes away from him. This will make Colby an easier boot next week followed by Jerri who has outlived her usefulness when she gets then to all boot for colby and has been annoying per the previews for the last several days(weeks for us) and is less useful than Shi-Ann. That leaves Lex, Kathy & Shi- Ann as a pretty tight alliance with Shi-an as the 3rd wheel that can be booted at will (not well liked).
Ethan has to go before Colby as Colby is an original mogo-mogo and as such the tribe may feel that it wouldnt be right to vote for him before ethan who is not a mogo mogo.

But that just how I see it.

"RE: VIDCAPS: Survivor All Stars Episode 7 Preview "
Posted by Flowerpower on 03-11-04 at 06:20 AM
Here's what I am thinking Vols: I definately feel that it is indeed Lex and Kathy with "the power", however, Shii-Ann and Jerri have made their top bootee priority as Colby, they, or perhaps Shii-devil expresses this to Kathy, who frankly agrees. She probably also sees Colby as more of a threat than someone who would go along with the group and could be controlled. This is where the major breakdown occurs. I think Kathy is swayed by the girls, and they, wanting to stick together, obviously don't care if it's a strong guy, and out of the three remaining guys, Colby is the most abrasive towards them. Thus, Kathy perhaps sways Lex, who probably realizes that it could be risky as Colby is so strong for the group challenges, but, in the end he knows that Ethan will probably be easier to control, he's known and liked him(they have a history together), and perhaps as an alternative strategy down the road after the merge, it's better to have two possible options/alliances...(Kathy, Shii-devil, Jerri, Ethan and/or Ethan,Kathy, perhaps Big Tom). So, I'm thinking it's back to the razor commercials for Colby!
