Woohoo! No mention of Kim!

Oh well, I can be all but sure, that there will be enough of her to annoy the heck out of me.

I need to pay more attention to character names, I don't recognize any of them by name, yet.

I am so ticked that we already know how the virus gets out. Won't Fox ever learn how to keep a secret?

We really do have guidelines here. Believe it or not, the Guidelines make things more fun. Really.

Obviously they did. But from reading TV Guide Online, I wasn't the only one duped.

Poor Tony. *sniff*

I am going to be seriously bummed if Tony spends the next 22 hours in a hospital room, off camera. ARRGGHHH !!

I am 100% sure that this is a decoy virus... But maybe I'm just jaded after having a decoy assassin and a decoy nuclear bomb in the previous two seasons.

Don't be surprised if the cliff-hanger at the end of this episode is a shot of some other kid in some other part of Los Angeles with some other bag of cocaine talking on some other cell phone to some other Salazar contact. Then again... maybe, just MAYBE they've actually contrived some other twist this season.

Sounds like a good twist, but I suspect there won't be a cliff-hanger ending this year. The cliff-hanger ending last season was wildly unpopular. And you see they didn't really even resolve much of it this season.

I'm not talking about the end of the season... I'm talking about the end of the episode... there's always a cliff hanger at the end of each episode.

I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out that the virus was in a person and not in some other random bag of cocaine. Still... I could be overthinking this, but I have a feeling that it's still too simple. If the virus is in a person, we can really only have one or two more episodes before it gets found (IMO)... instead, I'm expecting another twist in a couple of episodes... then again... maybe not.

Well, if Salazar is the main villian, then I think you're right. But I think the virus plot gets played to conclusion around episode 7 or 8, so we can get going on the main plot - who weaponized the virus (I don't think it was Salazar's people) and what is their connection to the assasin who took down Palmer at the end of Season Two.

Which will bring us back to Nina...

OMH I can't believe Tony got shot.

I am damn well fell asleep during the show LOL. I was so tired, please forgive me. Hubby filled me in and told me I didn't really miss out on much and I woke up just in time to see Tony get shot LOL.

Is Tony ok? Please say Tony is ok.

After the stuff got flushed I turned to DH and told him that was a fake bag and the kid has the real bag with him. Guess my guess was close, the kid is the virus. How are they going to release him back into the public?

Poor Chase.

Can anyone explain to me why/how has this Kim girl not been killed yet? I mean come on, last year she proved she was to stupid to babysit. This year they bring her back as a computer expert. Give me a break.
Kirsti Alley once had a line in Cheers that went something like...."I am too stupid to live".....shouldn't this apply to Kim?

Just asking!!!!

OMG....my friend called with 10minutes to go...I saw someone get shot but I wasn't sure if it was Tony or not. Did he get shot in the head?

Jack said shot in the neck! I hope to goodness Tony does not die. I truly like his character and he is good eye candy. I missed everything up to the end. I forgot it was on...oh the horror!!

"Melodrama"
Posted by AyaK on 11-12-03 at 11:35 AM
So now we get to see Michelle grieve about Tony, Kim realize that Jack was doing the right thing ... and, hopefully, Chase get killed soon (the sooner, the better).

Uh, like sleeeve, I think the virus in in someone else, not Kyle. To be precise, I think it's in Gael -- so, unbeknownst to Jack, Kim is in the most dangerous place possible.

The Palmer/Anne/ex-husband subplot is too stupid to warrant comment.

"RE: Melodrama"
Posted by true on 11-12-03 at 01:05 PM
Hmmm, interesting theory, AK. I assume Gael is the mole, but I'm horrible with character names.

I agree with you RE: Chase, but since they've basically killed Tony off for the remainder of the season, I doubt they'd kill off another "potential hottie". Hope I'm wrong. Although, I'd rather see Kim get it by being in his way.

Hey, mabye the virus is in Jack somehow. Maybe all those withdrawl symptoms are really early virus symptoms. I did read somewhere that he suggested killing off his character. But, I have no idea what his contract status is for next year, or beyond. I do know I am going to get sick of seeing him on the brink of shooting up each week. *groan*

"Kim"
Posted by GlassJax on 11-12-03 at 01:20 PM
Kim was the best the first season. A hot lil' cutie, sneaking out of the house to party.

The second season she started to get on my nerves, but at least the did alot of gratuitous shots of her jogging in a tight white sweater.

Now I just want her gone. I don't care if they explain it or not. Her hair cut is the worse. She wears a twead jacket to cover her figure (which IMHO she's looking pretty chunkie in the face), and her selfish lil byotch personallity grates like fingernails on a chalkboard.

It's always got to be all about Kim. Never mind the background plot about terrorist destroying LA (Which, I mean really, who cares about LA)

It sounds like I wasn't the only one thinking "Why oh why couldn't they have sent Kim to the Mall" at the end of this one.

I love this series but watching it weekly pains me. I got spoiled by missing the first season and catching it all on DVD in 2 or 3 sittings. I wish they'd just release the DVD already. I may have patience issues.

I should have wandered around a little sooner. I had no idea that 24 existed on this site. I've been blinded by survivormania lurking all these years.

Glad to have you here Befuzzled. SB is so much more than just Survivor - have you tried OT?

Regarding Tony - he may effectively be out of the show for the rest of the "day", but he is in the credits for next weeks show - will he actually live? Well, last year Jack "died", but finished the day strong. However, I fear no such supernatural powers for Tony.

Haven't had much of a chance to think over the show.

I'm still shocked at the overall inability of CTU to keep moles/traitors out of headquarters. Is this guy (name?) there by choice/design or was he blackmailed like the guard? Seems by choice, so how does this stuff happen? OK - just a rhetorical question 'cause many of the things that happen defy logic and don't have an answer.

I still love the show and the tension, but last night wasn't the strongest show I've seen. Some days the lack of resolution on plot twists does get a big aggravating. And, it also starts to feel like an NBA game - you know, just watch the last 3-4 hours and you'll see the really important stuff. Though, there are a lot of delectable morsals along the road so I'll guess I'll keep watching (though as I think about that it looks like I'll be missing up to 8 hours in the middle of the day while I'm out of the country from Dec 26 to Feb 27 - gotta figure out how to handle that one!).

Kyle a decoy? The mole's name at CTU is Gael. Maybe he does have the virus- it would have to be someone that was in Mexico recently, no?

What is the name of the female health officer with Jack- the blond? New love interest for Jack?

Tony shot in the neck- noooooooooo!!!!

The Palmer/brother/girlfriend story line is not interesting to me. Any villian is going to be a let down after Sherry Palmer.

I don't think Chase or Kim will die. One or both will certainly end up in harm's way but I suspect they will have a happy ending as a couple.

What was the deal with the guard and Salazar? I fell asleep during that part and woke up to see Tony bleeding.

Salazar had the guard's son kidnapped and threatened to kill him if the guard didn't kill the detective (don't know his name).

I'd also love to see a tragic accident befall Kim. Really bummed about Tony. I hope they don't kill him off, he's my favorite character on the show (and the hunkiest, too!).

They'd better figure out a way to bring Palmer into this a little better, because his storyline feels really forced right now. Hopefully, they're just setting the scene and will get a deeper involvement with him soon.

That's what I was thinking. The whole plot line with him and the doctor is so uninteresting. And I can't believe he'd go along with paying the bribe money just so the dirt on his girlfriend-doctor won't get out. It doesn't even seem like that big of an issue.

Also does Palmer only visit California like once every 3 years? Every time he come to California there's some terrorist incident. First his assasination attempt, then the nuke, now the virus. Dude, just stay away from California- LOL.

just so the dirt on his girlfriend-doctor won't get out.

My first thought to that was: It's going to get out that he's bribing people, and that will turn it into a big deal.

But Dennis Haysbert deserves so much better than he's been dealt so far this season. He's such a talented actor.

We really do have guidelines here. Believe it or not, the Guidelines make things more fun. Really.

Exactly! the whole bribe/cover-up thing is going to end up hurting him more than the girlfriend dirt.

Haysbert seems so wooden this year- maybe he needs better folks to play off of- the brother is not impressing me.

I know i haven't posting been here much lately, but I think this 24 thresd is a great idea. I lvoe this show, and have been reading over here when i pop in to rant or rave about something. nice work.

i understand how everybody feels about kim, LOL... but if she doesn't live, what will Jack have to care about? (smack) - at least they don't have her running all over the LA basin this season, escaping (not) all those ridiculous perils. sheesh!

anyway, thanks for the thresd! I know 24 won't disappoint, and this makes it funner!

i hate the girlfriend thing too. you know it's only there so it can come to a bad end...dum dum... duuuum!

Nice to have you here ashley - this is usually a fun thresd for those of us who are junkies. It's enjoyable "spoiling" the show as the hours go on - as you know if you've watched other years, there's almost no theory that is to far out for the show.

Enjoy!
