Ok I know I was wrong the last time but this one is slightly better (pass the bong). My sources say that Superman plans to off himself and after a horrible superglue incident he takes Vampkira with him. The proof is in his recent SSC entry (drip... drip... drip...). This event will leave the BB tribe hopelessly out numbered after the merger, but will also eliminate the need to get another writer for the x.5 episode as there will be writers already in the pool available for such duties.

Oh no.. no.. no.. Please say this isn't so! Superman would not off himself.. would he??? And ESPECIALLY if I was superglued to him....which I always am, so...oh no.. please..no...fate could not possibly be this cruel!

Well, Hawk, this sounds way more credible. I mean how would Superman dare to take out two people (and with no vote, yet) and risk incurring the Dictator's wrath at this change of rules--
UNLESS Supes plans to put himself permanently beyond the wrath of #2?

The other thing that makes me think you're on to something--
if you're right I have no less than 3 wrong votes (counting Skier) on the official thread.

Blood spilled? Could it be that Vamps sucks the life out of poor bunny (spilling a few drops off her chin) and that Sir Erist takes revenge by setting up the Superglue incident?

One might think that she would disdain bunny blood, but you gotta remember she's a Playboy Centerfold, so she's already full of bunny blood.

Hawk, you may yet become the #1 spoiler/spy of the season and could you please pass that Dr. Bronner's bong over cuz mine's all clogged with resin?

Hey GT, false assumptions are much like rationalizations--couldn't get through the day without several of them.
Don't knock 'em.

I'll tell you one thing, HawkEye's impersonating someone with above-average intelligence and literacy skills.
Now take that clue and YOU go to work. Since you won't pass your bong I'm gonna have to spend hours cleaning mine!

Oh yeah, here's a clue we can compare cause we're on opposite coasts.

I seem to remember Eye of the Hawk is a premium microbrewery West Coast ale, or do I have it confused with Blue Heron or Redtail (out here we like to name beer after birds, go figure).
Do you see it out there or could this be a clue to a West Coast thing? (Makes note to start ale brand research right away)

Either that, or it's someone from Iowa--is that the Hawkeye State? It's the home of the Iowa State Hawkeyes, anyway. Look for a big-time college sports fan?

I'll pass the bong, but I think you ought to clean yours anyway. . . *passes the Grunge-Off*

Uh-oh, why did those two elements make me think of AyaK?
Combine that with the fact that he doesn't insult the show the way Shakes or ShakesVivor do, but seems genuinely interested in spoiling the outcome and familiar with spoiler board antics.

I know nothing about Iowa or college sports, GT. I don't even know what sport the HawkEyes play. Do you?

I think you need to call in additional sleuths to pool the knowledge.

First, I'm not HawkEye. While the University of Iowa sports teams are indeed the Hawkeyes, I wouldn't use this name. I might have used Buckeye, because I went to OSU ... but then so did Tam ... uh, one of the people no longer on this board.

>>>Either that, or it's someone from Iowa--is that the Hawkeye State? It's the home of the Iowa State Hawkeyes, anyway. Look for a big-time college sports fan?

My first thought for HawkEye was the James Fenimore Cooper stories (and yes, I've read Twain's essay "Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses" -- another reason why I wouldn't use the name).

Unlike Buckeye, Hawkeye is a common term for someone who sees things that others cannot -- a logical term for a good spoiler to apply to himself or herself. I don't think there is a sports connection.

I also don't think HawkEye is impersonating someone with literacy skills and a knowledge of spoilers --- I think HawkEye is such a person.

And then there's Hawkeye on MASH--he was a prankster.
Thanks for the illumination. See I knew you would know the references, even if you weren't the guy. Since it's not you, you can help GT from losing her mind.

By the impersonation comment I meant that he or she had slipped in a "eee" Sleeve hint and now a GT (or possibly OFG) bong ref and that HawkEye's not trying to dumb down his or her act like certain other "leaks" we've had lately.

Speaking of spoiling Aya K, I hope you noticed that the GUT saved the day in my spoilage IC, thus helping Sleeeve redeem himself. Probably a few who never went to spoilers went Huh? on that one.

Another thought: Perhaps HawkEye is someone who does not like ShakesvivorBlows and is trying to duplicate his/her shtick?

I have a couple thoughts on who this is, and neither one fits that, but thought I'd throw it out there.

And yes--the Hawkeyes are the school thing, so play all sports. I also think the brewery connection is not likely.

Next?

Another quick thing about HawkEye. In his user profile, his name is listed as John Quincy. Which, of course, leads to Adams. Which could lead back to the ale thing. Elephino. Anyway, thought I'd throw out this extra bit of information.

Oh... and my sources say Our Lady Peace won't be performing in this episode. But they might be in the next...

That's a good question, Kis.

Because I apparently have nothing I'd rather do with my life than solve the mystery of which board members are creating alternate newbie ID's to spoil an imaginary show--I just went and researched the MIA Hatched.

Hatched didn't seem to be around long, but I saw his/her old post here in the new forum and reread it. It was well written and funny, and even though it did report that SKIERDUDE WINS, it said that was just what the dude was telling everyone, with no claims it was a real spoiler.

Hatched's real scoop was the revelation that his circus freak source was coupled with Shakes brother Bakes. In Sherpa's recent and pretty-much confirmed spoiler, Shakes wrote Aya Probe that Bakes had died in a recent tragic accident, much like the one Not Shakes rumored had claimed the life of Shakes Burnett.

This would seem to give Hatched additional credibility, except that Shakes was clearly lying to Aya Probe and using a family death excuse to cover his running off from his show. Personally, I'm inclined to believe Bakes really existed but has now perished. Nothing else really explains Not Shakes' story about the VW accident, well, unless Not Shakes is a big fat liar.

Hatched used a cute sig pic of a dinosaur hatching out of an egg. He didn't try to imitate any other posters. He did show up at almost the same time as Pendragon. Dragon, dinosaur, hmmm.
Pen replied to Hatched's post. You, Pen's wife, remind us of Hatched... Hmmm. Now I'm beginning to suspect Pen was Hatched and now could be HawkEye, now that he's had time to study our styles. Does Pen do impressions in his comedy routine? Why didn't I suspect the clever wily dragon earlier?

Now I'm beginning to suspect Pen was Hatched and now could be HawkEye, now that he's had time to study our styles. Does Pen do impressions in his comedy routine? Why didn't I suspect the clever wily dragon earlier?

Let me say first that I am not now nor have I ever been Hatched. When I came on these boards, I had no reason for another identity. My sole purpose in the beginning was to bash Shakesvivor. I did so, and for a moment, the Whores Ran Free.

Now Shakesvivor is dead, and Blowsvivor reigns. I will admit, I have been tempted by the lifted skirt and perfumed inner thigh of Blowsvivor. I am weak. I have not found it in myself to bash Blowsvivor. For one, I didn't want to bash BA and I certainly thought OFG would take it personally. (I myself have agreed to write one of the damned episodes for heaven's sake!)

But I will tell you this, this Hawkeye is a poor substitute for good ole dragon wit and bite. I find it insulting that you would even compare us.

And if you wanna see some bashing. I mean, if you really wanna see soem good old fashioned, down and dirty, no holds barred bashing of Blowsvivor, then I will pull off the gloves and come out swinging. I may do it anyway to show what a sham this Hawkeye idiot is.

You wanna piece of me, Hawkeye? You callin me out? I don't think you want to, but if you do...I am ready.

"Team ID'd: Hopheads"

Well, I've continued my pointless research into Eye of the Hawk Ale and gotten a good buzz, if nothing else. Found an item that ID's it as BOTH an ale and an athletic team (figuratively speaking). See review at bottom of this post.

And yeah, it's a West Coast product. And Slurpee, West Coaster, pointed us to Hawk's User Profile, which does indeed say John Quincy (Adams, Samuel Adams Ale). My wonder, did it say that before I posted about ale? Or did the User himself go in and add the profile to point us away from the West Coast, to Boston?

Oh, and who's so obsessed by the SSC (drip clue in the spoiler) as to post an entry a day, Slurpee?
Who was the first to comment on Hatched's spoiler, Dave?
And who brought us Clown porn, well that was in his own name. go figure.

Here's the label for the Eye of the Hawk. There's another one much more similar to our spoiler's style but it was a few too many bytes to upload. Although this hawks has its mouth closed, it's hard to spill a leak unless you open your beak.

From beer lover review on this ale:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It’s the top of the ninth inning in the Beer Lover’s Playoffs, and the Mendocino Hopheads are down 1 to nothing. Red Tail Ale and Peregrine Golden have already been to the plate, and they both struck out. The crowd is tense. This has been a championship franchise in days gone by but of late has been having problems, big problems, with some of its star players. All eyes turn to a glass of Eye of the Hawk Select as it steps up to the plate. Can this beer keep Mendocino in the game? A hush falls on the crowd, and the pitcher pours a brew straight to home plate…Eye of the Hawk swings the bottle…and slams a home run right out of the park. This beer is a definite hit!"
-------------------
Go Hopheads! Ah Mendocino, my former home.

This would all make a ton of sense, OFG, except for the fact that I've been posting spoilers aplenty since ___vivor began under my own name. Why would I take on an additional assumed name? Further, since I knew (as the writer of the next ep) precisely who was going up in flames before the episode came out, why would I post wrong information under said assumed name? I did post a couple red herrings under my own name to helps Supes out (RR and SS), but I did that when it seemed like people were coming too close to spoiling his ep based on his preview.

Anyway, love your detective work, OFG. It keeps you sharp in the off-season. Alas, a lot of logical clues point to a guy that Hawkeye just ain't. (Oh, and like AyaK, I'm a Big Ten alum as well, but while Aya's a Buckeye and Iowa represents the Hawkeyes, I am a Wildcat. Go Wild!)

You know I only do this because I love to hear you guys present all the facts supporting your denials. Look at all that interesting stuff...Why in the heck did I pay attention to your RudyRules thing? I forgot you were the next writer when I read it. Hey, I thought the next writer was supposed to not weigh in one way or the other <checking the rules>

You're right, I'm trying to sharpen up for the future season.
Keeping sharp might be too much of a statement considering my record last leason.

Anyway, if you aren't Hawk, you've got to be able to nail who is, so help out, would you?
And good luck with the writing. Whatever you do, don't let anyone distract you with peripheral issues.

Did ya, and Dave admitted to having inside info as well? Makes you wonder about him doesn't it. Just to be on the safe side I wouldn't believe anything that "hawk" person posts espically this week.

Like the Cubs, one of the lovable things about Northwestern's sports teams is that they have historically sucked. And not just Cubby sucked. More like Iraq's-army-falling-before-the-US sucked. When I was a freshman, the first football game I attended, we tied Syracuse. And promptly tore down the goalposts. For a tie. Keep in mind, this was only a year or two removed from the end of what was then the longest losing streak in the history of NCAA Division I football. Our 'Cats were so bad that when we took the goalposts by the university president's house, he came out on his lawn and cheered us on.

Ok, OK, I believe you Dave. Lol at your rhyming MASH defense.
Hawkeye's first post was not only a spoiler but a humorous way to plead that the writing schedule be extended from 3 days to a week.

You and I and dabo and GT were chatting, the night before I posted my episode, and you felt you wouldn't have time to get it written in 3 days. Dabo was looking for a co-writer, because he would be out of town on his date. And GT's son was coming home from school on her date. You all said you would post to the Gameplan thread and add to my post expressing concerns about the rush. You and GT posted (at about 3am) while we were chatting.
Dabo did not post, but HawkEyes's post showed up about 12 hours later.

So I agree that dabo's our guy, smart spoiler, articulate, impersonator, somewhat less anal about spelling and grammar than you proclaim yourself, it all works.

And personally, I hope the old Hawk's got something good for us this week, cause you're quite the cagey one and I want to know what you've got up your sleeve (with 2 ee's).

Dabo, however, possesses the same kind of slightly askew, faulty logic that Hawkeye has displayed (c'mon, "dubya" STILL doesn't make sense, nor does the "explanation!") and there are too many chat-related clues. . .

I'm certain enough about this that I think I don't care anymore--and knowing my reluctance to give anything up, that might mean something.

Dabo, adding bloodsucker helps greatly if you start with Leif and just happen to pick nicknamer as the way to go instead of viking, golfer, grammar, hornwiggler, etc.

But you gave us Bela and tried to get us from bloodsucker to oildriller (like they were the only ones) so we could make that huge leap to nicknamer? I don't think so.

Please try to remember that some of us are stoned a lot and we have many chains of association we could follow, infinite possibilities...

Um. . . coonhead? There's that faulty logic again. . . You quoted OFG, but addressed your comment to ME!

You are indeed messing with the permanently messed-up, and I don't think anything's gonna get by OFG, who is honing her brain for S3 on this crap.

And eBug? I think you're just needling me because I teased you in the bar (when YOU started it there, as well!)--don't make me tell everyone what trouble you were up to in there! But since you mention the bird-lover thing (I'm into PARROTS, specifically, as you also know)--my loving couple are presently in the midst of laying a clutch of eggs, so yes--I AM very happy about that! (especially since each one represents $500-800, once I spoon-feed them.) If I had chosen a bird as my alter-ego (I really do have NONE), I would've picked something decidedly more colorful than a hawk.

Something more . . . green. or yellow. or. . . electric blue. (maybe even paisley!)

Paisley Parrots?????

GT, I have no reason to needle you. It is just the first time I read a Hawk post I thought GT. Everytime I read a Hawk post it sounds to me like, GT.

No other reason, and I know when you are teasing me ( usually)

Am I allowed to say that I'm not following much of this? Geez, the tangents that you people go off on...

GG, who's wondering what's the meaning of all that's spoiled. And if OFG really is the hard-hitting, solve-it-all, brass balls, kick ass, Jane Tennison of this detective fantasy fiction. Welcome to her world. Entering is easy. Leaving is hard. Parting gifts are optional.

GG, there is no meaning. Tennison, no, although I'm a fan of Mirren's series. "Hard-hitting" maybe. (Pass that bong back)
Motivation? Some of the new board identities are fun (Hawk) some not so much. Just trying to recognize our friends through their linguistic disguise.
And watch me exit, I'm leaving right now!

Leaving so soon? Before anyone has a chance to point out that one person has been especially dogged in tracking Hawkeye down? I've felt from the beginning that Hawkeye wants to learn his/her identity. Care to use my stack of Bibles to deny Hawkeye is you before you go, OFG?

"dabo's official denial "
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 06-22-01 at 01:23 AM
After I quit this thread and vowed never to return, I got the following email from dabo with his permission to share it, so I guess I owe it to him to take back my conclusions.
---------------------------
Following email was sent from user dabo at RealityTVWorld.com Message Board Forums.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subject: HawkEye
Message: honestly, I have only the one id.
Honest!
But if John Quincy did mean anything, hmmm...
My granddad was named John ...
hmmm...
Just teasing, honestly HE isn't me!
I mean it, really!
---------------

So there you have it. Not GT. Not Aya K. Not Pendragon. Not Sherpa. Not dabo. Not OFG, and way, way, way not skierdude 10.
Sorry if I left out anyone else who's posted their denial!

*OFG officially declares she doesn't give a damn and decides to leave the Hawk case written in red on the board and filed under "not worth further effort."*

To Quote you from the Shakesvivor Blows 'outing'(Which is still making me laugh BTW!):

"1) I accused Vamps of their complicity in the bar and instead of playfully vamping up her badness--she pled her innocence more times than OJ."

Does that sound like anyone we know? Hmmm?

"Just mooning, thats what."

Ok.. once more for the record.
As I said in chat last night,
I AM ALL UNKNOWN and/or IMPOSTER POSTERS!!
I am "not shakes"
I am "not sleeeve"
I am "ShakesvivorBlows"
I am "Hawkeye"
I was "Hatched" (he bored me though)
If I left anyone out, just remind me in the Bar.. and I'll come back and edit....sorry but it is SO hard having all these personalities, and well.. when you get no sleep, you tend to forget things...

IS IT LIVE? OR IS IT MEMOREX?

Oh, Vampy. . . ever the troublemaker!

MY opinion is that you are indeed at least ONE of these personalities (in part) but by no means ALL of them. . . your silly confession was obviously designed to confuse matters and make us think you were NONE of them!

Silly bat.

Has anyone explored the possibility that there are two posters who have HE's passcode and have been collaborating on this? Just thought I'd ask.

LAST EDITED ON 06-22-01 AT 05:47 PM (EST)

Edited because Aya may well be right. I wasn't giving away who Hawkeye is, but it may have been more info than people really wanted to know.

Suffice it to say that Hawkeye seems to be one person, but Hawkeye might occasionally have ghost-writers.

SherpaDave, I'm not sure that everyone needs to know about that ... I think they are enjoying the guessing game more.

BTW, just because I want to protect the effort that goes into HawkEye doesn't change anything --- it isn't me (if it were me, I'd just make it up each week).

Thats ok AK... I really didn't expect Sherp to e mail me any spoilers as "HawkEye" for this Ep, but I thought I would give it a shot anyway.. *sigh* Thanks for nothing Sherp!! *Is thinking she should have used her ShakesvivorBlows, or not sleeeve's ID to mail Sherp instead.. mighta had a better chance with one of those....*
