I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but in an interview I just read through the Jewish Telegrapic Agency, Andrew Glassman, one of the show's executive producers says:

In the final episode -- to be broadcast April 5 at 10 p.m. -- Mesh must choose between a Jew and a non-Jew, Glassman said.
When the non-Jewish finalist asks Mesh if her religion represents a problem for him, Mesh responds that it doesn't, Glassman said.

So...there goes my idea of thinking it was between Sam and Rachel. Now I'm thinking Christine and Sam or Christine and Rachel.

I think most of the people posting on this board have figured it is a Jew/Shicksta (sp?) showdown. It might be more of a spoiler if we could be sure which women are Jewish. My best guess:

Jewish: Rachel, Samantha
Non Jewish:
I don't know: The Gamer, Stefanie, Amy

It's shicksa. I think Stephanie might be Jewish because her last name is Cahn, although Kahn would be more of a Jewish spelling. I don't know why her character wasn't developed at all. Where did she come from anyway? And why is the show only 4 episodes? He may pick from the original 2 that were so interested, Rachel and Amy. I thought from the previews that his parents were choosing between supporting a Jew or a goy.

And i would guess with about 95% probablity that she is Jewish...Many names are Americanized for many reasons;..

oh, the irony of this whole thing. I can't watch the finale because its Passover night.(observant=no t.v.)!! And i have no vcr/recording capability. And i don't know anyone else who watches or will admit it....bummer.

Ill tape it for you..and mail it off for you.

I came upon this website and I thought I would help you all out with a few of your questions. Both Samantha and Stephanie ARE jewish. They are also either related or friends (they do know each other somehow). One of them (or both if they are cousins) has an aunt that works on the show and that is how they both got cast on the show.

What!!, the AJs didn't pick these women, it was just old fashioned neopotism!! I'm shocked!! Ok, not really.

That information creates an interesting dynamic in my mind. Since the producers aren't going to trash a co-workers freinds, this narrows down the pool of potential DAWs to edit to make look like idiots. And Adam may have picked up on the fact that the women were freinds of the production and kept them around to gain favor with the producions staff.

Actually if his parents are observant Jews, it is more than just a stereotype. If this is the case it would be very important to them. Maybe it seems okay on 'Mad About You' but in real life it is very important for a Jew to marry another Jew.
