"Sweetie John"

I think John is the biggest sweetheart of all the guys. She called his singing dorky. That butthead! If John doesn't make it with the cheerleader, I the marching band girl will be waiting on the sidelines.

John fell for her too quick during his date. I was sorry to see Dennis go. I think he is incredibly sweet.

I agree, she had some nerve calling him a dork. How many guys would sing to you on a date? He seems like a really nice man. But I know she won't keep him.

John is from my neck of the woods. The newspaper ran a nice little article about him today. He really DOES sound like a sweetie! Check it out...

What a great article! Thank you for posting that MandyM.

John sure seems to have a lot of supporters in this forum, too! I am hoping he doesn't "win" Malena's heart, because I think she is too shallow for him.

Oh, and a big welcome to the new posters, it's really fun to have newbies around!

Oh, c'mon. John is the dorkiest of ALL the guys. Forget the pitiful song, he practically did flips after Malena gave him a simple peck on the lips. I felt embarrassed for him. But I guess that is how a 26-year old might react to his first kiss.

And what about the hissy fit (and tears) John threw when "the guy he really connected with in the house" left???

LOL Bri. He is a total geek. Some stuff is sweet, some is corny. No wonder why he has to go on TV to find a pretty date.

Totally agreeing with you that John's a huge dork. It was pathetic to see how he reacted to that one 'kiss' and the rest of the date was a cringe-fest in my house.

What's weird is that he had the fortitude to actually go up to Zach, tell him off, and make some kind of peace with him.

These two scenes seem really out of whack for me. In one he comes off like a 12 year old. In the other he comes off like something resembling an adult. Weird. I guess he just never had a girl in his life before and that would explain it.

I can't believe he's still there. I can't believe I actually watched this show twice. I can't believe I'm going to watch it again.

Ok so he really over reacted on the kiss (at first I actually thought he burned his hand in the fire or something) and he probably messed his pants (in more than one way). I still think he is cute though.

Hey, it's a reality program. If you don't think the thing is edited to make the guys look bad, I've got a bridge I'd like to show you. Looks to me like John was playing it up for the camera crew. He was on stage in a way, there were lighting guys and boom guys and camera guys on the other side of that fire.

Maybe he's just more respectful of his intimate moments, and played off the old "Woo-wee, my heart goes pitterpat" to lighten a very uncomfortable moment.

<<If you don't think the thing is edited to make the guys look bad, I've got a bridge I'd like to show you.>>

John sends out mass emails to all his friends after each episode and he did indeed say that he thought it hilarious the way they use editting and music to make people appear certain ways. Like you said, if you guys are going to watch a Reality Show and think that youre seeing the 100% true personalities of these people, that's not true.

John doesn't normally act the way that he is protrayed on tv, but like everyone else, he does get angry and upset about stuff. What we didn't see, probably, is all the other stuff that happened with Zach that led to his reaction. Not that I am one of them, but I can assure you that John has had plenty of girlfriends and he is a romantic guy.

As for his over the top reaction to the kiss, John has some acting in him and I'm sure it wouldn't be beyond him to play it up. I thought it was totally over the top myself and was a little embarassed for him, but I have a feeling that he was either told to act like that or just did it to be funny and play up the show. As he said in his email, if Melena had thought he was so dorky and had had such a bad time on the date, would she really have kept him? Maybe, just maybe, (sarcasm) there is more to this then we get to see....

Amen to that, Bri Guy! What normal man falls in love after getting pecked on the cheek? And what normal man thinks that a peck on the cheek means a girl is into him? And even though I would love to be serenaded, the Vienna Boys Choir's greatest hits is not what would turn me on...

It could be that John is just easy to please, and we are not used to seeing that.

I'm going to miss John. He was the only "real" guy left. I was hoping he would make it to the end. I respect a guy that looks good in Grandpa clothes, pulled up socks, and over sized sun glasses.

Yep, John was a bit over the top. That bit about not washing his cheek since she kissed it did it for me. Melana was afraid of being stuck with this child who was completely fixated on her. I don't blame her to cutting her losses. He may be a nice guy, but that little puppy routine should have faded during junior high. Face it, they were not birds of a feather.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself.
