Call me crazy, I know this is true, but I don't know where it goes.

In the rules, it states to even watch the ads, so I did. Toyota and Sprint appear to be the bigger sponsors so I paid special attention to their commercials during Ep#2. The last Toyota ad that appeared right after Jim screams was different than the others.

It has a pop-up line which reads, "New York Times September 9, 2001", across the bottom of the screen.

Are we supposed to pull a copy of the Times from a year ago to find a clue there? Has this thing been in production long enough to supplant such information? I'll see what I can find out on this one.

There is an article in the 9/9/01 NY Times from their web archives site about the '02 Camry. I don't know if it contains any clues as you need to purchase the full article. The snapshot is enclosed. Maybe this was just part of the advertisement and means nothing to the game. I just found it odd.

yeah. I looked at all the ads and they seems pretty old. One advertisement(s) I find suspicious could be all those alias comercials and any other ABC shows. After all, we did see that alias logo on the tv in episode 1.

Do they mean even to watch the ads during the show for clues or possibly to watch the ads *for* the show (that air elsewhere) for additional clues?

It says "commericals", so I take that to mean sponsors during the show.

Another one I found interesting (but probably nothing either) was the JCPenny ad. They start with a woman walking through a glass door. When she opens the door, you can clearly read "PUSH" on the door handle. Probably just a coinsidence, but you never know.

NOOOOOO!

As a professional print and broadcast journalist
I can tell you...

Fogeddaboudit!

That note at the bottom of the screen is like a
bibliographic annotation in a term paper.

Having claimed it was the "gold to platinum standard"
(or whatever it was exactly) the commercial producer
cited the source of that claim about the high quality
of a specific car.

In other words, it gave credit for the phrase to
The New York Times -- sort of confirming the source
of an endorsement, sort of like how movie promos
use hyperbolic phrases about the high quality of
their about to be released movie and show the name
of the critic who made the glowing comment!

Got it?

I think you're all taking this too far. Come on! A JCPennny Ad where a door says "push"! Sprint and Toyota are the major sponsers for the show but I don't think that they would put any clues in the TV ads. Maybee the internet ads...
