I personally love Joe Schmo, I am under no illusions that it is an epic television show, or will go on to be a classic, but I truly like it, and I'd like to have a thread for the seemingly 1% of people who agree with me on this.

And please, if you don't like the show go somewhere else, there are plenty of other places in this forum for you to go on about how much you hate it. Let us have our fun.

You have been warned.

So apparently The Hutch and Dr. Pat got it on, as far as that goes good for the Hutch, Dr. Pat is cute, not the hottest there, but still cute.

Her talent show routine was classic, I laughed my ass off. Matts was just embarrasing, I couldn't even watch. I must admit that I was shocked that it was Earl that illicited that response from Matt. First I thought Molly, then I thought Dr. Pat, but they had me fooled right to the end, what more can you ask from a show?

Um, the underwear game was not only the most entertaining (My God Ashleigh has legs up to her neck) but also the coolest of the games they've had so far in my opinion. The Ashleigh-Molly-Ralph love triangle looks to be coming to a head, and man I'm preying this is an elimination episode, not that I wanna see one go it's just it sucks to expect it and then be denied.

As for me I hate reality shows, but Joe is different it's not really a reality show, the only other one I've ever watched was the end of Joe Millionare, and I stopped into Temptation island a few times to check out the ladies.

"Matts was just embarrasing"

What would you have done in that talent show in the spur of the moment?

man, that's classic the one negative thing I said.

I probably would have used my comedic skillz to shatter Hutch's singing.

Episode 4

Loved it, cept for Dr. Pat gettin her block knocked off tho, the whole Pat and Hutch thing was classic, and the debating game Brian's antics were hilarious. Turns to camera, has shirt stickin out of his fly "What is everyone laughing at?" The eviction ceremony was a refreshing change, especially after the unpleasantness of last week. Makes me wonder tho, how did they know Matt would give Pat the prize? They must have came up with that on the fly.

to draw attention away from the tears shed at Earl's departure, the producers decided Hutch and Dr. Pat had spent the night together. Hutch lived up to his shocking self, as Virginia Satir would say it, even using the dolls to illustrate his "vagina envy" to the group. Dr. Pat showed up and gave the story validation by asking Hutch, "Shouldn't that be private?"
Matt was so thoroughly disgusted with the whole "affair" that he rightly concluded Dr. Pat (whom the show calls "The Quack") needs a new vocation. He almost apologized for saying so, but no; if she was still so desperate and confused that she would be with Hutch (after all she'd been through with the previous jerk) she needed her head examined (Matt saw to it personally that this would happen before the sun set)

If ever there was a time that I thought Matt would clue in that something was amiss was last night. Hutch and Dr. Pat...it could happen but Hutch was way over the top going on and on about it to everyone. I've met some a$$holes in my time but never someone that would go on like that to everyone in the room.

But our loveable Schmoe took it all in stride. Very entertaining episode on the whole.

I've met some guys that have no decorum when it comes to spilling intimate details. I went to a picnic and the couple there either kissy-faced or threatened to smack the other. When she wasn't with him, he proceeded to tell everyone just how much she likes the way he does things and all kinds of details we didn't particularly want to hear.

Cop? No. Moderator? Yes. And, if you can't read the board guidelines and see that your post above and your post to Lisapooh were unacceptable, then I'm afraid you're going to have to join vernonwells, carlosdelgado, dougault, JoeSchmoFan, leverhume, gregchet and MattKennedyGould on the inactive list. How many different names can one person use?

"Matt is still cool, but both earned and lost bonus points."

I wondered about it myself, whilst safe in my armchair. I think Matt is being brainwashed by the group consensus on many things. There are some classic psychology experiments along these lines. He's doing what everyone else does in those situations, except that I think he was genuinely sickened, despite the group's relative apathy. I give him bonus points for that.

I was surprised everyone hopping up and down like little bunny fu-fu when there was a vacation at stake didn't awaken him, though. I have to take back the bonus points on that one.

Big Bonus points for giving away the vacation. Go Matt!

...the producers decided Hutch and Dr. Pat had spent the night together. Hutch lived up to his shocking self ... using the dolls to illustrate ..."

This was the funniest scene in this show so far. I think Schmo is great and would have reacted in the same way to the Hutch's vile, disrespectful remarks.

But as a viewer it was hilarious! I was rolling when he said that he "Had his head examined" and "Had a breakthrough. A breakthrough her pants". Matt's comments about how could this happen, Hutch is "rude and smells" were pretty good too.

"man, that's classic the one negative thing I said"

Just curious, chill baby, chill!

I would probably do the one joke I seem to remember:

If you use penis enlargement cream do your hands get bigger too?

TaDa!

I'd give me a 2.

I am pro Joe too...I want to start a fan club for him! My girlfriends and I think he's very cute and we believe that he is genuine, he wants to be everyone's friend, pal, buddy....that makes him very endearing.

I say that the network has to give him something for his trouble - he'll get something out of this whole thing.......

You are kidding, right? Have you been watching the way he treats women? First he was upset because "Ashleigh" was interested in Ralph instead of him. He immediately started organizing to get her voted out. Then he was upset because Dr. Pat slept with Hutch. I think the Slippery Joe is right when he said in another thread:

"He was hurt that Hutch banged Dr. Pat before him. Joe Schmo is a needy, horny, jealous individual. Remember when Molly rebuffed his advances? He organized a coup to have her ousted. Joe felt slighted again that someone else got laid instead of him, and had her number from the very beginning, thus the killer shove from hell."

I like the show. But I am definitely starting to wonder about a guy that thinks he has been done wrong by women that have shown no romantic interest in him what so ever. A nice guy would know that just because he is romantically interested in a women, does not mean she is romantically interested in him. Hi, how are you doing today, does not mean I want to sleep with you.

Matt’s true self is coming through and I don't like what I see.

He's okay with women. He actually seems protective to me. I think he just has a low tolerance for mind games, another reason to quit law school.

What I say to that is he was pissed at Ashleigh for bad mouthing Molly, and he was just disgusted by the Hutch

"What I say to that is he was pissed at Ashleigh for bad mouthing Molly"

I agree that is possible.

"he was just disgusted by the Hutch".

So you are saying that it is acceptable to shove a woman as hard as he did, in a game, because a guy he hardly knows disgusts him. If he was so disgusted by the Hutch, why was he hugging him at the rags to riches ceremony? Why did he still vote Ashleigh out if he was so disgusted by the Hutch? Why didn’t he try to organize to get the Hutch out? I agree that at first I thought he was a nice guy. But now I wonder how much of that is his true personality verses pretending for the cameras. Everyone’s true personality comes out eventually, especially when they are angry or upset.

Ok, first of all you were supposed to be physical in that game, and secondly retract your claws.

What's next? Back and to the left, Back and to the left, Back and to the left?

I am sorry I hurt your feelings. I thought this was a discussion board to talk about different ideas. My mistake.

"So you are saying that it is acceptable to shove a woman as hard as he did"

Matt just got caught up in the game and forgot about his sensibilities (another aspect of the schmo in Matt), perhaps he over estimated the protection of the sumo suit with most of the padding being in the front. He almost has the dynamic of a bratty older brother with women. He seems almost clueless with women. He saw Brian's knut knuckle charging at him, and he barely got out of the way in time....

He's definitely grand standing for the cameras, and it's like another poster said "My producer paid my friends to play with me."

Yeah, we love Matt. See the thread "Matt is Cool"

BTW, I noticed your screenname is the same as our favorite character, and one could almost misinterpret your subject line to say "I am the professional Joe, I really am Matt Kennedy Gould" instead of the thought "I really like Joe".

"Lovin' Joe"

I love the show... it is real in a way that no other reality show is real. It also focuses on one person that is unique amoung reality shows. almost kinda wish that Joe-Matt was more of an asshole, I felt the last episode lacked depth because he is so good.

>the last episode lacked depth because he is so good.

I couldn't disagree more with that statement, but to each his own. I do believe the things you're looking for are the things Spike is trying to "deliver" on. Why else does the Hutch almost always get immunity? And what was with the masturbation discussion? Matt has Spike whooped in that he is a good guy, and they can't help but show a few scenes with that evident.

"And what was with the masturbation discussion?"

That's nothin, what about the sumo doggy style at the end there? I think Brian has issues. Ha, ha!

Besides, the masturbation question of Molly (supposed virgin) is a total guy thing, guys rely on masturbation so much, they just don't understand why chicks don't do it.

I really like Joe also. He reminds me of my ex-boyfriend. (And I mean that in the nicest way. Although, I think my ex was more ambitious and intelligent than our Joe is.)
