On a more personal note, 9/11 is my mother's birthday. On her 77th birthday she woke up to NPR describing the breaking news. I called her and said it was a shame that this special birthday had to be ruined by such evil. She said, "Don't worry about how I feel, I never expected to live to be 77 anyway."

11 and 111 are numbers of renewal. In Finnegans Wake, which a number of people believe to be prophetic--111 is the symbolic number of the mother figure who digs in a mound of rubble and finds a buried "missive" "transhipt" from Boston, Massachusetts. Joyce finagled the book's pagination so this excavation of the rubble/rubbishheap takes place on 111.

Her act of reclamation leads to the eventual phoenix-like resurrection of the Masterbuilder father figure. As the book begins, this figure, like Adam has Fallen, but the imagery Joyce uses is amazingly apt for what just happened.

He topples with a thunderous sound and is compared in his fall to the tower of Babel, Humpty Dumpty off the Wall, the Crash of Wall Street, and the Woolworth building--a New York skyscraper of Joyce's day.

The narrator then says asks who was the agent of this tragedy?
A bunch of references to the Koran, Islam, Mecca, and Arafata appear, and the answer is something like a "shabby chorus of unqualified Muslim missile men..."

Strange but true...

This must be the eleventh hour for the world; I'm leaving work early (even if the international area code for Iran and Iraq isn't 119 it's 98, and 964, respectively, and in numerology 11 being a two digit number is not fully reduced, till you go 1 + 1 = 2). I have no explanation for all those other 11's, but I do know the area code for Latvia is 371, (you guys can do the math). This is unusual, because the Grateful Dead ( and Jerry Garcia has eleven letters, mind you), in addition to having a song called "The Eleven", gave financial support for the Latvian Olympic basketball team a few years back (remember, they had the coolest tie-dyed uniforms). I fear the US military may be barking up the wrong tree.

you know the latter Dead albums have some other relevant titles: "Touch of Grey" had songs named "Hell in a Bucket," "When Push Comes to Shove," "Throwing Stones," Tons of Steel.

On "Built to Last," the song "Built to Last" was followed by "Blow Away."

Then came "Standing on the Moon," "Victim or the Crime," and "We Can Run"...ending with a note of hope in "I Will Take You Home."

*Misses Jerry Garcia. I was in Italy in a room looking out over Lake Maggiore the day he died. I took a boat to one of the main tourist islands and there at the foot of the ancient castle/villa was a Rock n Roll cafe with the walls lined with original old Dead posters. It was very coincidental!*

thanks for sharing the info. This happened to me last year as 555 kept popping out on me. This made me curious, though I'm not a firm believer.
