"The Bachelor 2" is casting, according to zap2it.com. If the first series is any indication, the producers will be looking for one sex-crazed guy with a good job and 25 attractive and very loose women:

ABC Looks for 'Bachelor II' Contestants
Wed, May 29, 2002 02:23 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - The producers for the romance reality series "The Bachelor II" have begun a national search to find a new "most eligible bachelor" and 25 women willing to compete for his affection.

Between Thursday, May 30 and Monday, June 10, the show's producers will travel to Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Miami looking for their perfect contestants.

The first installment of the series, which premiered in March on ABC, introduced Alex Michel, a 31-year-old management consultant from San Francisco, to the woman of his dreams -- Amanda Marsh, a 23-year-old event planner from Chanute, Kansas.

In "The Bachelor II," one man will again meet 25 women and narrow down the field until he ultimately selects the one woman he might ask to marry in the show's finale. Along the way, the bachelor will date each of the candidates, introduce some to his family and friends and even take a few of them home to meet his mother. The show will also take a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of each participant.

While the first edition played out in six episodes, ABC has said they will probably extend each arc to eight this time around.

Anyone interested in auditioning for the show should check out abc.com (keyword: bachelor) for more information.

Wasn't this show supposed to feature a female bachelor (and doesn't this show have a higher female audience to go with that?)

Two ideas....use Anna Nicole Smith as a bachelorette looking for love and money among the oldie set, or get a regular dude who has nothing going on but a desire to get laid... not trying to be a gentleman, but just a horny guy willing to scam chicks into the sack. Would women fall over him because he is a nice well mannered educated guy trying to find a mate, or because the guy is a regular shmoe, but is on tv.

Or they could actually hire some lowlife and have him pretend like he's all rich and edumacated - like "The Bachelor" meets "The Mole". So the audience is in on the joke as we watch these freaks throw themselves at him and then at the end they reveal the details to her on live television (and see how long the relationship lasts ;)
