Attack of the Giant Ego or Emotional Meltdown? That was just plain weird. Thoughts?

That was just weird. At first I thought the idea of the song, "Start me Up" and her being a wind up doll might be a cool idea, but then it just dragged on and I was wondering when she was going to actually dance??

Then it just got weirder and weirder.

Strange how no one really did well last night.

As long as Marie doesn't win I will be happy with who ever wins

Definitely very odd.

She's been a bit mouthy, but last night seemed really out of character. I wonder if she was upset about Maksim saying she wasn't very good, or some of the other stress she has been under finally is getting to her.

There seemed to be a certainty that her fans would save her no matter what the judges did or said that did come off as I've already won the trophy ego.

I was thinking at the time it might turn off some of the people who would support her. The ones that weren't die hard fans, but liked her for how she was performing, if not dancing, on the show.

I have never liked Marie Osmond but up until her mouthing off, I had a grudging respect for her as an entertainer. I was so annoyed by her doll maker comments that I voted against her from all three of my email addresses - something that I have never taken the time to do before!

No, she is just plain bad. She thinks she can cutsie it all the way til the end. There was no real dance involved in that routine. It was so awful I am surprised it got 22.

Very strange! Marie's always been chatty, but last night, she was bordering on obnoxious. After her second routine, I was thinking "OMG..shut up already!!!"

She's a great performer, but her two routines last night proved beyond all doubt that she's no where near in the same league as Mel or even Helio. Her lack of skill was painfully evident in the Samba and the doll routine was just plain weird.

That doll routine was certainly cringe-worthy material. It was like watching a car-wreck in slow-motion. I didn't want to watch, but couldn't turn away. That is certainly going to haunt her career for a while. I was tolerant of her and her cultish clan before this, but they are so slick and slimy, and oh so arrogant. She should expect to be judged in a dance competition on her dancing, and based on that she sucks big time. It also bothers me that Donny keeps spouting off that Mel and Sabrina have an advantage over Marie, um why? She has been in the song and dance business since before the other 2 were born. It's not their fault she's not very good at dancing after all this time. She needs to go so we can see Mel and Helio dance-off. OK, I feel better now, thanks!

Exactly. That blatent hypocrisy has been driving me nuts.

Welcome the boards, Z-chick!

I just figured her doll paint makeup had plenty of lead in it.

Yeah, that was sooo bad. I have seen the "be a robot/doll routine" in "So you think you can dance" and they really pulled it off..but Marie..that was just horrible. Of course, everyone was pretty last night...was it a full moon or something?

And yes, her mouthing off was really bad as well. I think she finally lost it right there..no longer the sweet innocent troubled life thing...but just plain bad and mouthy!

LIke I said before, if she wins...I'll eat my pants!!

Now this is from TMZ, so take it with a grain of salt, but

http://www.tmz.com/2007/11/27/fainting-spell-was-a-fake/

"Sources on the set of "Dancing With the Stars" tell TMZ that Marie Osmond's fainting spell was scripted -- to the point where she had a writer just off camera feeding her lines when she stood up!

Our moles say Marie has a writer on set at all times, prompting her with witty conversation. One on-set source says he was in position when Marie went down -- and didn't miss a beat."

Her people are saying the stories are all false.

Who knows?

Did anyone else find it a little disturbing when she was sitting spread-eagled on Jonathan's neck, all with a huge grin on her face? Who's stupid idea was that?

Oh...wait...they're FULL of stupid ideas.

Buh-bye Marie.

Even Donny had to admit that Marie lost it lastnight. He said on ET that they finally broke Marie and she got angry and lost it with the judges. Jonathon and his wife are going to perform with Donny and Marie next year in Vegas when Donny dances too. Donny is just dying to get out there and prove he can do it too.

I was watching Cameron on ET Canada. He was talking about Marie's doll dance. He said he kept waiting for it to get to the point where they dropped the doll bit and actually started dancing. But he said it was just odd that it went on and on and never got to that point. He was not impressed at all. He thinks Helio is going to win.

Cheryl Burke was interviewed on Good Morning America this am. Her answer to Marie's talking back to the judges was 'the contestants have THEIR time to do their own thing, and they should NOT be taking up the judges' time with their remarks and attitudes. It's just rude and obnoxious'. GOOD FOR YOU, Cheryl!

If anyone knows how it should be, it's Marie, 2x winner. I don't think Marie has made ANY points with even her co-dancers. She really went out of her way last night to become the all-time strangest-I almost felt sorry for her!
