"Death Knell Night: Predict the viewership!"

This is not to detract or distract from Shakes' thread: it's just pointing out a crucial evening in Eden's history. Tonight, the show goes up against the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and the continued strong performance of The Apprentice where, as we know, someone's going to get fired. And probably discover just how bad the food is at casino buffets, but that's another issue entirely.

Sent up against two heavyweights, losing viewers every week, and those of us ignoring the Donald may just switch over to the Mads instead of coming here... how many people, rounded to the nearest hundred thousand, actually show up to watch the Edenists continue to struggle against twist writers gone mad?

I'll start the bidding with 2.3 million.

I was going to say "But there was no twist last week!" (which was exceedingly hilarious with all of Jordan's talk of a "double twist" but I digress) but I realized that that in itself could be considered a twist, and it sure as heck ain't gonna happen twice in a row, so yeah, I won't say it.

And, back to the topic, I'd say you're probably being optimistic (or is that pessimistic? - the show that won't quite die)

I'll probably watch, but I'll be paying more attention to Mad Mad House and the NCAAs tonight than anything else

edit for typ-0s

Well let's see, there's me, you... LOL, OK it's not going to be that bad.

Ep4 did 4.3 million. The crappiest first-run show on TV last week was "The Mullets" with 1.7 million (actually the bottom 23 -- spots #96-118 -- were all UPN and WB)

At #95 was NBC's Saturday repeat of the "Adam Returns" premiere, followed at #94 by, ouch, FOX's FIRST-RUN Friday night broadcast of "Playing it Straight" (which actually DID WORSE than Monday's "Eden" did -- bringing 3.65 million... not that "Wonderfalls" did much better at 9PM with 3.68 million)

I'm guessing "Eden" will at least manage to stay above the 3 million mark -- probably around 3.5 million, maybe an outside shot at 4.0 million.

The better game might be to see which will do better -- Scifi's "Mad Mad House" or "Eden"

What the hell is fox thinking? Are they trying to kill forever eden? Id say about 500,000 if cbs, scifi, all the movie channels and nbc blacks out.

It's already dead. This is just like that part when the headless chicken keeps flopping about for awhile...

And a headless chicken at least has a chance at surviving eighteen months.

Actually, this slot might save Forever Eden. Whatever crap Fox shows in this slot gets killed anyway--at least Forever is cheap to produce. The only way Fox could win this night is if they put AI in the Thursday slot.

I'll go with 4 mil. viewers considering 'Tru Calling' may get a higher rating than its normal average because of that '90210' guy. While I'm hoping for a death blow, I don't think it will happen just yet.

I know this is after the show, but I'm guessing 3.2 mil watched, most of whom live in West Virginia.

...but I gotta run and don't have time to figure out who it was. I will say that my "probably around 3.5 million, maybe an outside shot at 4.0 million" appears to have been pretty much right on target

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=televisionNews&storyID=4675327§ion=news

Fox saw a modest uptick for 8 p.m. drama "Tru Calling" (5.4 million, 2.2/6), but 9 p.m. reality-soap "Forever Eden" failed to maintain the momentum (3.8 million, 1.8/5).

For those tracking at home, this means Eden only lost another half a million viewers this week:
