"Stuff I hated... Stuff I loved"

Stuff I loved. Where to begin?

-The basher in me just loves Tramel. He has the makings of a 'Wil' just under the surface, and his precise needling of his sister was just shown to lay the groundwork for when she blows up next week and pushes him off a cliff. I can't wait. Good bashing material on the horizon...

-Heave fell out of a donkey cart in Mexico. LMFAO.

-Then they panhandled. On day one. Before leaving the country. OMG. Their actions on DAY ONE can only indicate a season of degradation and seediness. Yay.

Stuff I hated...

-The DoubleDumb Twins bag incident. Sure, I LOVED that they thought they had lost their bags for good, but I hated that they got them back so quickly. I woulda liked to see 'em cry. Bummer. So much for missed opportunities.

-The Cop and the Fireman... Both in highly phyiscal careers, both prior military, both in Desert Storm, both chose the DONKEY CART?!? WTF? Did this just seem wrong to anyone else? And which one ran the red light? The cop? This scares me.

-All the "reflection" and heart-felt farewells from the Soccer Moms at the end of the show. I mean, who cares? We knew you for about 42 mintues. A nice handshake or a friendly wave is really all that we need.

-The third team member: A dead brother? Wha-?? You've got to be kidding me. This would almost be on my "I love..." list if it wasn't soooo weird and perverted. I mean, the bashing potential IS great, but it creeps me out a little much. I hope John Mafia and his galfriend go soon; I don't think I can stomach them tramping a dead body around the world. It was funny when it was 'Weekend at Bernie's', but at least that was a movie; just pretend. The dead brother is just disturbing.

Anway, those are my initial thoughts.

Personally, I can't believe anyone would take the donkey cart. But, I'll give them this...

Things I loved (with enough sarcasm to justify this being on Bashers)

TAR finally came up with a detour where roughly half the teams picked one option and half the other.

A detour, much to Femme's delight, is STILL "a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons."

They allowed only seven teams on the first airplane, and had the buses leave in the morning two hours apart with only four teams each. I hope that they keep doing this, even if they stole this idea from me. It's the perfect way to prevent bunching, yet keep the race close. I might have chosen a smaller interval (one hour) between departures to keep things closer.

Also loved the donkey cart incident.

The young male, strongest-looking team that most everyone (I mean, Katem) picked as the winner turned out to be a pair of DoubleDumb idiots.

The extra-long bathroom break I got to take while the Suckout Moms were babbling.

I was waiting for someone to pick one me for that one. I was following TAR tradition, but I think the producers picked these two on purpose.

I can always change my PTTE to Aaron and Arianne, they are my selections as runner-up.

I love the twins, they will be fun to make fun off.

That said, I still dont think theyll win.

AndrewsfriendCJ said in another thread that the editing actually left out the part where they need to undergo an hour of training before they can skydive so that wouldn't make the donkey ride as bad a choice as it might have seemed initially.

Loved:
The donkeycart incident. I think Heather(?) almost landed face first on the donkey poo-poo bag.

DuhbleDumb Twimbos. We finally have not one but TWO completely useless Male eye candies!!!

Hate:
Ian&Teri-ble. What's with Ian? He made the choice of being the first on the last flight instead of the last on the first flight-- ohhhhh... I'm in such awe of his brilliance! Biggest TAR Gufu in history. And he also made his wife pull the donkey cart! Hmmm... I think we all know who the jackass is...

I think Femme is right on in her picks. Especially the donkey cart falling over(I about pissed myself). Still, you know me, i've gotta add one or two of my own.

Stuff I Loved:

The Twins-These dudes are so damn stupid that you have to like em. They did every possible thing wrong and still survived(barely, but they still did).

The reaction of the little boy driving the cart that broke down-It completely collapses and the little tyke looked so unapologetic and carefree. These two stuck-up beauty queens go face first into the dirt and the kid could care less. Priceless!

Well Rounded Selection of teams-You have airheads, cranky people, old people, stuck-up people, and a dad-son team.

How Hilarious was it when the Southern Baptist dad watches his gay son do a backflip during the opening credits? Nothing had me laughing harder than this.

Things I hated:

The Soccer Moms-This was one pick i didn't care for at all for casting purposes. If there is a more annoying form of human being than "the soccer mom"(No offense to parents, but plenty of offense to people who can't do anything but talk about their children all day) i'd like to know what it is.

I forgot their names(hell i don't anyones names at this point), but the two girls who think they're so damn attractive really aren't that good-looking. Paige and Emily were much more attractive, and they didn't even have to make reference to the fact that they were attractive. Get over yourself!

The whining that occurs when a team outsmarts you. Remember when that one team(i'm really sorry i don't know the names yet) went under the ropes to get to the ticket girl at the airport? It was immediately followed by whining from a team saying "they'll get theirs". Look, they outsmarted you, get over it!

Actually I thought this was a justified #####. Sneaking ahead of people to *cut* in line is bitchworthy. Totally within the rules and A&D should have made a bigger fuss over it, but extremely rude, especially to the people not in the race that may have been legitimately close to missing a flight. Would it really have been that hard for them to ask someone to cut in line?

I hope the cop gets time penalized for running through the red light. (Since breaking actual laws are supposed to be wrong in this game)

Going through a red light is against the law for us regular folk but not for cops. I've lost count of how many times I've seen cops flip on their lights to go through a yellow/red light and then flip them back off again when they are through the intersection.

Has anyone else ever wondered if a cop pulls over when he/she goes over the speed limit, writes themself a ticket, and then carries on driving at the speed limit?

Lemme tell ya something - the day Bucky Katt eats a green Skittle is the day Bucky Katt lost his groove.

Ditto that. If you allow running a red light to go unpunished, you'll have teams violating traffic rules until someone gets killed.

My guess is that this cop is so used to going through intersections whenever it'sclear that he doesn't even see traffic lights anymore.

I agree with all your points especially the one about all the whinning. These people need to realize that this is a game and that people are going to do whatever it takes to win. Teams that spend too much time bit(hing and whinning about what other people are doing will suffer in the long run.

Sing it, Sistuh Femme! The cop and fireman had me wondering more than once. They didn't seem nearly as athletic as they acted like they were in the opening.

The soccer Mom's going on and on about how important it is to set a goal and achieve it. And the goal they set was what? To come in last place? Even Phil had a hard time looking interested during their blah, blah, blah speech.

Heave-BWAAAAAHAHAHAHA! I laughed so hard I cried. I hope to God somebody gave the donkey a special treat after that. Plus-what a whiner Eve was. Has she even watched this show before? All the bungy jumping, mountain climbing, hang gliding, etc. never gave her a clue that she might have to do something daring? DUH!

The dead brother was creepy. She mentioned him like three different times. I understand the grief that must have been there for her, but she needs to stop dwelling on that and get on with the race. The other teams will not care when it comes down to the wire.

WTF were the brothers doing going for the FF this soon? I know, Rob and Brennon did it and won, but R&B were in shape! These two will have many tougher times ahead of them, and no FF to bail them out. They did prove, however, that brains and beauty do not always go hand in hand after beating the twins for the FF.

Speaking of the twins:

The dead brother thing just seemed like a natural extension of Blaige, which I thought was damn creepy.

I think the TAR editors have a taste for the creepy. First they had the Blaige thing going and now they have the dead brother scenario. What's next? I'm looking forward to Ken getting it on with Andrew in the upcoming episodes.

Thanks Femme for the thread....

Stuff I loved to hate:

1) The Twins. The evil-giggle quotient was way up because of them. I was actually beaming to see that they made it under the wire- we get atleast another week of bash-worthy stunts from them. My favorite so far? "Let's run to the fast forward..."

2)The donkey carts- this was probably the funniest-looking detour I'd seen in a while. The tipping over, the children laughing at the silly Americans, the look on the teams' faces when they realized that they made a mistake in choosing.

3)Seeing the blubbering legally blonde chick shoved out of the airplane (okay, she was strapped to some hunk of a man, but whatever.). And seeing those well-used lips of hers flap around in the breeze.

4) The Baptist and the Cheerleader son. OMG. Could the dad BE more straight? And could the son BE more flaming?? I loved the son's line- "We'll either be closer, or I'll have to get a restraining order". And the look on the dad's face when his son did a back flip and landed with jazz hands...priceless.

Stuff I hated to love:

Ken and Gerard. Okay, it's the Basher board, but they are like our emissaries, man? Dig it? I loved their bashing of the Twins (Oh, those beautiful legs, and hey, how did the bald ugly guys win the FF over the beautiful gods???)

The choice in casting. This is going to be a good one, I can tell. Control freaks, raging baptists, harlots, buffoons, "high-maintenance" chicks, the zoolander twins. If they just had a set of incestuous siblings, we'd be set.

Stuff I just hated:

The Bawling. Get rid of the cryers and I will be a much happier camper. Atleast the soccer moms (2nd place crying offenders) are outtie.

The number of Will reduxes. There are atleast two, possibly three guys who would fall into the Will mode: Ian, Tramel and potentially Zach and/or Michael. And Ian is the worst, despite Tramel's outrageously conceited jibes at this sister (I have a brother, I know most of those kinds of comments are done in jest). But Ian's admonishment of "control-freakishness" is only the tip of the iceberg. You just watch.

The potential bunching that might happen at the beginning of next week. The FF wasn't enough of a headstart, IMO, and everyone else seems like they are 15 minutes apart. I know it is somewhat inevitable to have bunching at the beginning (too many people moving in the same direction at once will do that, like fat cells in an artery), but I hope the opportunities for bunching will decrease with time. Aren't there ANY twenty-four-hour tourism places????

"The Zoolander Twins."

OMH! This is the best description I have read yet of the twins! From here on out when I watch those twins in "action", I will be seeing Ben Stiller mugging for the camera!

Thanks for the *giggles*

Hey Red Lady!

I can't take credit for the Zoolander reference (I've read it elsewhere on this board), but I'm glad I could make you giggle.

I think they look more like Owen Wilson (Zoolander's arch-enemy and orgy partner, teehee)but with dark hair.

Either way, the comparison is creepily accurate, I agree!

Heave falling face first into the dirt out of that donkey cart was definitely a highlight...

Did anyone else notice that Teri and Ian's donkey cart driver disappeared after a while??? Did Ian dispose of him somehow?

Stuff I loved...

-The Doublement twins turning into the DoubleDumb twins.

- Eve going crazy in the harness when they jumped. I mean
really Eve it is better if you stay in the harness and
hold on tight. The landing will be much softer.

- Tnt's dance at the end. Wonder what they will do when they
come in first.

- The soccer moms. They left their babies and did it.

- Teri's reply to Ian's brilliant reasoning as to why
AeroMexico may be faster. The power of tone.

Stuff I hated....

- Our brave boys in blue and red showing their honor
and integrity. I feel much safer now. I still
love you but not if there is much more of that.

- Ian riding while his wife pushed (the cart, I mean).
I did not realize he was such the gentleman.

- The twins and heave's game plan. How original.
Let's use our looks and if we have to we might
actually use what intellect we have. We are
much more comfortable with the first though.
The second is kinda rusty.

They were planning ahead when they put a fireman
on the show. Let's hope he is around when the
smoke starts coming out of their ears.

Blame it on the conditions of the race which make every position except first and last all but meaningless until at least the halfway point. Everyone on the second bus knew they were stuck in the middle of the pack, so why stress out for 6th place?
