Thanks for reminding me bawdy! I've been very distracted with hard life-stuff, and would have spaced the return of 24 tonight.

I can now get things done early tonight, and escape for one great hour.
thank you so.

Excellent episode! This is the stuff I like about 24.

- Palmer found out about his brother's affair, but didn't want to be the puppet of his big contributor. Even when his brother offered to resign. Palmer trying to take control when everyone around him is trying to wrest it from him is classic 24.

- Loved the twist on Tony. It looked like he had been screwing up, when in fact he was right on top of things. And it was not a surprise at all to see that the inexperienced (and, in previous years, extremely stupid) Kim was the mistaken one.

- Chloe being sarcastic to Kim worked for me. Kim's the relative newbie, and she's telling everyone else how to do things? Yeah, I can see that rubbing folks the wrong way - especially if they think the only reason she's working there is because of her daddy.

Bring on next week's episode!

Poor Michelle. I wouldn't want Tony mad at me.

"Jack has more lives than a cat" how true that statement was.

I'm finding it hard to buy the show taking place in "real time" this year- I think the "24" hour concept is getting streched more this season.

How will Jack find Nina? In the previews she is asking him to "prove it" and they come close as if to kiss- YUCK!!!

That was a good episode last night. I thought it really odd for Michelle to take Kim's word on Tony's foul ups to the point she did. I could see her keeping a closer eye on him because of it, but before she asked to have her husband removed, I would have thought she would want to check out the situation herself, much like Chappel did.

Best line of the show "Jack has more lives than a cat!"

Worst, the previews for next week with Nina kissing Jack! Blech!

Where are they going with Palmer this year? What is his relevance?

What the hell was up with Michelle taking Kim's word and acting on it? That is your husband, hello, can you say alterior motives??!!

I agree Bawdy, the timeline is stretching it a bit. They sure have done lots of things in 9 hours, not to mention Tony getting shot and being out of the hospital in that amount of time.

I'm having a hard time with the whole concept of Tony being shot, having surgery, and then running promptly back to work.

I've had surgery, and believe me, I'm not sure I could even walk, let alone go back to work, just a couple hours after the surgery was over. Hello people, he had general anesthesia, you don't just wake up and hop out of bed after that.

I did love the line about Jack having more lives than a cat. As far as kissing Nina goes, I don't see why Jack would have to kiss her to prove he isn't still loyal to CTU. No matter how you slice it, she killed his wife. No one is going to want to kiss someone after that.

I think the whole story line with Palmer so far has just been to set the stage for Sherry to come back.

Robert Bianco, Steve Jones, Claudia Puig. USA TODAY. McLean, Va.: Dec 5, 2003. pg. E.01

Abstract (Article Summary) from Dec. 5, hidden text below

To the delight of 24 fans everywhere, the much-missed Penny Johnson Jerald has returned to work as President Palmer's ex-wife , the conniver America loves to hate. It's 7 p.m. now on Fox's time-driven hit series; look for Sherry to show up at 10 on Jan. 13.

Because secrecy is the core of 24, Johnson Jerald can't say exactly where Sherry fits in to this. All she can promise is that "the moment Sherry comes on the scene, all hell breaks loose in all areas." Johnson Jerald's commitment to 24 is for "a handful of episodes plus a few others." But she's open for more. "Sherry's like that Jason character that never dies," she says.

Nina! Nina! Nina!

I love that these Salazar boys know deep down inside that Jack is going to screw them over but they are just so greedy and arrogant that they keep him around. They are becoming worse then Bond villians.

That Tony/Michelle stuff was a little odd. Even if Tony is on top of things, he was being a total prick. I'm still trying to figure who is going to die this year and who is secretly a bad guy. Hmmmmm......

I think the answer to one of your questions is going to be Chloe- just can't figure out which.

In the first season they kept us on pines and needles about Tony & Nina. Remember they were a pair that first season. Tony was always on the edge and played against Jack quite a bit. It would be easy for the writers to make a story line fit between him and Nina, hence her return and Tony's involvement in a plan to overthrow Jack.

Michelle's instincts might be right on.
