I cannot believe that there were not divers on-site to help the Professor when he was near-drowning.

Even Fear Factor would have had someone in the water... It looked like the crew went in eventually (and last), but you're right: I didn't see a single person in swimming gear, and I went through that part of the episode in slow motion. Bad, bad decision on their part: it may have been a longshot to think someone wouldn't know how to swim, but there's always a chance for a muscle cramp, lungful of water, or just clocking your head against the boat on your way out.

After that, I totally lvoe the host! How un-host-like of him to save a life! He should be given at lot of credit.

And, oh, how I hate that dumb Marianne lifeguard. She should be ashamed of herself. There is no excuse - "I was trained for shallow water!" OMH!

Yeah, what kinda garbage was she selling about being a lifeguard but never actually getting training about what to do if actually in deep water??? WTF?!?!?!?!? I was just amazed.

It also seemed like it took Angie a few miles of a walk to get to the first aid when she sliced her finger off. Whose idea was it to give a celebrity a knife. Don't they know what can happen? Someone gave OJ a knife once.

The guy should have known how to swim if he was going to be stranded on an island. It was his own fault wanting to be on a reality show when swimming was a prerequisite. What the heck did he think he was going to do during a storm on a three hour tour??? Obviously the producers do not have swimming tryouts or proper uses of a knife before casting.

He could use the sailers life vest, tie the ends of his pants together and use it around his waist. I mean he is a professor, right? His inflated ego is more buoyancy than he'll ever need.
