"TAR Lvoe List Volume 16.6"

Sour Grapes!

On this episode, teams drove themselves to Reims, France to search for Noah's Ark... um... I mean Joan of Arc, who's statue resides outside of Cathy Drone... um... I mean the Cathedral.
There they got the next clue which sent them off to Epernay or Champagne, depending on what team it was. Once in Epernay, the teams were faced with the roadblock, rappel down into a wine cellar, find a specially marked bottle of champagne, then run upstairs and whack the cork off with a samurai sword to get the next clue.

After that, they had to get themselves back to Reims or Pierry, depending on what teams it was, and find Taittinger La Marquetterie - the one in Reims, not in Pierry. Once there, they were faced with the detour - Tower: stack a bazillion wine glasses then pour an enormous bottle of champagne into them - or - Terra: find a specially marked bunch of grapes. Next, it was off to the pit stop.

Wondering how your favorite team is doing? ... then see last week's results from our awesome stat guy, kidflash!

On to the list!!!

Rank. Names (last week's rank) -

1. Louie and Michael (3) - They get the number one spot this week because they have been first to the mat for 3 weeks in a row now. Careful boys, this may not last very long.

2. Steve and Allie (2) - They have done a great job as well. They are consistently number two... and I like them.

3. Jet and Cord (1) - They are slipping because they are making more mistakes each leg. Sure they still make me laugh and they are fun, but they need to stop losing all my casino points.

4. Dan and Jordan (6) - They were not as annoying this week. They, too, may not stay in this spot for long.

5. Carol and Brandy (4) - Brandy is an arse. Last week she didn't sign up for that. This week she does a flitty dance on the way to the champagne. I think she's a prima donna. I hate prima donnas.

6. Caite and Brent (5) - OMG... STFU!! I wish you were the ones eliminated after the whole bitchfest at the detour. Caite harped until Brent switched tasks, then they mess that up and have to go back. Dumb. They also can't find their way out of a paper bag. I have no idea how they got this far.

Philiminated: Jordan and Jeff (7) - I am not sorry to see you go, but you did give me a few chuckles, I have to admit. I would have rather seen you guys one more week than have to put up with Brent and Caite. Funny, I thought I'd be cheering your exit.

OK, now it's your turn.

Much better, I liked this episode.

Like:
1. Jet and Cord (1) - Not as dominant as I expected, but they consistently have good attitudes and they always give their best effort.
2. Steve and Allie (2) - Give 'em the McGyver award for the duct tape fix! Another solid effort from these two.

Meh:
3. Louie and Michael (6) - Another decent effort, but the lack of a bunch point has kept them in front, not their racing ability.

Don't like:
4. Carol and Brandy (4) - If Brandy weren't so prissy, these two might actually be tolerable.
5. Caite and Brent (3) - In addition to being lousy racers, they're now starting to bicker. Great.
6. Dan and Jordan (7) - Getting a better edit lately, but I'm still not liking them at all.

Philiminated. Jeff and Jordan (5) - Oddly enough, these two were climbing in my rankings the last couple of weeks. While they were unabashedly dumb, they were cheerful about it and even laughed at themselves.

1. Louie and Michael (7)(7)(6)(4)(2)-although they may be getting too big for their britches (as my grama used to say) they did well again for the 3rd week so they deserve 1st place at least for this week

2. Dan and Jordan (2)(6)(3)(3)(1)- the continue to make me laugh. but Dan you're in France, of course they don't speak good English, they hate the English. Amazing that they could do that tower...there were marked grapes all over the place as we saw when B/C and J/J were searching.

3. Jet and Cord (4)(2)(1)(5)(3)- at least they don't bicker when they mess up

4. Carol and Brandy -(6)(4)(4)(2)(5)-they did well this week

5. Steve and Allie (3)(1)(2)(1)(4)- meh still boring. Did Phil give Steve the eyebrow when Steve said car insurance? Where's the Gecko when you need him. Maybe next season the Gecko can join the Gnomes.

6. Caite and Brent (9)(8)(7)(6)(6)- omh shut up, I told you guys she's a spoiled little brat...Joan of Arc is a man, not I was thinking of someone else. I actually felt sorry for him a little bit, not much tho

Philiminated Jordan and Jeff(10)(9)(8)(8)(7)-thank cod although Jeff took it well and had a few good one liners this ep and at least Jordan knows she's stupid, you know Joan, she's Noah's wife , and doesn't try to pretend otherwise like Caite.

1. Jet/Cord - Go to the wrong town twice and still appreciates the view.
2. Louis/Michael - Three in a row. Still not enough to takeover the cowboys.
3. Dan/Jordan - Tolerable and even funny at times.
4. Steve/Allie - Hope he thanked his wife for that duct tape.
5. Carol/Brandi - She said she didn't want to jinx anything by saying yes they were going to win, and then she said it. Huh?
6. Caite/Brent - One of her hobbies is pulling his strings and she can do it so well. I think we are missing something because of editing between them and Carol and Brandi.

Bye Jeff and Jordan. They were funny but just didn't seem to have the get up and go to win.

1. Carol & Brandy. See how much easier it is when you spend less time beyotching? When you're actually concentrating on the course -- at least partially, anyway -- you do better! Admittedly, you also did a pretty good job of cursing yourselves at the end. Kudos. The ghosts of dozens of all-female teams salute you with a single finger. But on the bright side, way to lock in third place. Now if you could just get rid of that idiot magnet in your backpacks...

2. (Gawds, I hate doing this...) Dan & Jordan. For two reasons only: picking the right team to ride coattails on and being the only pair to successfully tackle the walk-in hell that was the glass pyramid branch. Unless you somehow make Final Three, you will likely never be up this high again. And really, it's just a matter of everyone else doing worse. But congratulations on your ascents to the heights of the Luerve Lisset. (We don't speak very good English around here. We're Americans!)

3. Steve & Allie. Tripled their total camera time in one episode by doing their best to total their car. Nice work, guys: just one more victim Steve waved around third. Wonder if the Indians' medical department makes heavy use of duct tape? If we only see you when you're saving yourselves from your own mistakes, it's not a good sign for the future -- but take heart: spring training is a worse one.

4. Jet & Cord. As per the Claps & Slaps thread, every team which went to the wrong city in their quest for the Detour gets an automatic pass: that was a coin flip and yours came up on the wrong side. But making the mental leap of 'Cork? City! Travel now!' is a position-dropping error: take five minutes to verify with a local or spend three hours correcting yourselves. Way to take it with aplomb, sure -- but don't put yourselves in a position where you have to do it again.

5. Louie & Michael. You're making me wish for a bunch point. When you're behind, I can't stand your blundering and when you're ahead, I can't take your egos. Don't you have a nice desk job waiting for you back home? Oh, wait, you do -- now...

6. Brent & Caite. Lesbians hate you too. So do heterosexuals, males on the other side of the aisle, bis, 85% of the population with an IQ over 101, anyone named Joan who's going to spend the rest of the day being asked how her jock strap fits, the course designers who are starting to wonder what they're doing wrong, and anyone who ever tried to write a definition for 'idiot-proof' that has to start over. But glass-sellers love you. From a distance. The judges have sent in their scores, and you two have been rated as 'Future governor of Alaska and her secessionist husband.' Congratulations. Feel free to leave the course and begin your campaigns at any time. Any. Time.

Out: Jeff & Jordan. I keep glancing at the front page to see if VH1's announced their 'We're living together!' unscripted comedy series. (Three weeks, tops.) Another piece of stunt casting which didn't work out: usually, we have to wait a few minutes to find out a given team is composed of double-power morons and this time, we knew it going in. 'She's stupid! He's an idiot! How long will it take for them to start a war? Stay tuned!' *click* Our long national CBS nightmare is over -- but cable is calling...

Hi Everyone, (I accidentally posted this for last week - hope I did this right now...)
I'm a new poster; however, have been enjoying all your posts/comments for quite some time. There are a few of you whose comments always make me smile or cringe/but either way, produce a definite reaction. I hope I can join the fun and be welcomed. I love The Amazing Race, I love Phil, and I LOVE THE COWBOYS! The first week, I felt some doubt as it seems most of the world did. Now I am WAY loyal to them and was WAY glad to say buh-bye to Jordan and Jeff. He was kind of cute but she was kind of annoying. The Race will live forever and will do fine without them.
My picks:
1. Jet/Cord (although I'd prefer to say Cord fist)
2. Dan/Jordan (who'd a thunk it?)
3/ Steve/Allie ("Silence is golden but duct tape is silver";)
4. Detectives (really? - "They need to be humbled" - like they said about Joe...and I agreed at the time; but how soon they got way too cocky)
5/6 - toss up - Carol/Brandy or self-proclaimed models? Not so gorgeous to me but at least a dash of humor here and there. The ladies have had moments of arrogance/judgment/"I didn't sign up for this..." carp which would sink them to the bottom but those two over-full-of-themselves models are stiff competition for bringing up the rear.

TAR makes Sunday evenings a treat instead of the torture that normally accompanies the concept of way-too-close-to-Monday-morning.

Thanks for letting me have my say.

These teams are really dumb. Gah!

1. Dan/Jordan (10,8,7,8,1)
Reasonably funny. Also deserve props for succeeding with the champagne glasses!

2. Steve/Allie (4,5,2,2,3)
Likeable enough, if bland.

3. Brent/Caite (6,7,5,5,2)
I just enjoy laughing at her every week... don't care about him, though.

4. Jet/Cord (7,1,1,3,4)
I always start to grow weary of the teams that seem too self-aware of their own "awesomeness."

5. Louie/Michael (9,9,8,6,7)
Meh... I don't think they've really had to do much to seize three first-place finishes in a row...

6. Carole/Brandy (8,3,6,7,6)
They just don't do anything for me...

Philimination Station:

X 7. Jeff/Jordan (5,6,4,4,5)
I don't think they really cared about being on this show... they were so lackadaisal about everything... not to mention the obvious intelligence issues. Wasted a spot that should've gone to a stronger team.

X 8. Joe/Heidi (3,2,3,1)
Meh, with his knee they would have been out eventually...

X 9. Monique/Shawn (2,4)
This show needs to cast better all-female teams. Boring and weak. Didn't know them well enough to miss them

X 10. Jody/Shannon (1)
Seemed like nice people but it bothered me how slow and relaxed they were... where's the competitive fire? This is a RACE.

X 11. Dana/Adrian
I'd rather have them in it than the lesbians or either of the Rhode Island teams... too bad.

Gawd this season is terrible...

1. Jet & Cord - Screwed up but I still like them.

2. Steve & Allie - Would have moved up but for running into a curb.

3. Dan & Jordan - Rocked the pyramid glass task. I don't like this team (stupid English comment) but I was on the edge of my seat when the wine was being poured.

4. Louis & Michael - Blech! I hate putting them this high. It's easy to be first when you have someone to follow and there is no bunch point.

5. Caite & Brent - Dumb dumb dumb! You've shown up at the pit stop without doing what you need to do, how many times?

6. Carol & Brandy - If I have to hear another high maintenance comment from them...

Philiminated - Jeff & Jordan - Didn't have a chance as they seemed to be very far behind. Despite their lack of brain power they did provide some chuckles. I would rather had them continue on over Caite & Brent.

#1 Jet/Cord - you guys are slippin' (can't place you any lower)
#2 Mike/Louie - another first place finish
#3 Steve/Allie - great job with the duct tape!
#4 Carol/Brandy - great second place finish
#5 Dan/Jordan - nowhere else to place these guys
#6 Brent/Caite - shoulda' stayed with the terra task. as bad as...

Phlim'd: Jeff/Jordan

1. Jet & Cord - More mistakes are showing but they went to the wrong town twice and still wound up in third place. A lot of teams would turn on each other for those kinds of boo-boos but not them.

2. Steve & Allie - If I hadn't pledged to keep the cowboys at the top of my list, this team would be there. I really, really, really like them. A lot.

3. Louis & Michael - I agree that their recent wins have largely been due to a lack of bunching. And I find it interesting that they didn't like Joe's boasting last week but they were doing plenty of it themselves this week.

4. Dan & Jordan - I was honestly surprised they were allowed to stack those last three glasses inside each other to make the top tiers. The Cathy Drone thing made me laugh unlike when Jeff, Jordan, Brent or Caite says something stupid and I want to smack them.

5. Carol & Brandy - I really liked Brandy at the beginning but lately she's been getting on my last nerve. Sadly, she's the one on the team getting all the camera time and she's dragging Carol down with her.

6. Caite & Brent - Two words, shut up. One more word, now.

Philiminated - Jordan & Jeff - I'll probably miss their general cluelessness for a week or so and they were good for a few laughs, but I'd rather see them leave than continue being so stupid.

Here are my rankings:

1. Jet & Cord -- yeah, you screwed up but the second time was because someone gave you bad directions. And I like you best.

2. Steve & Allie -- rotten luck but at least you used some MacGuyver skills with the duct tape! Kudos to you!

3. Louie & Michael -- two of your three first-place finishes are due more to lack of bunching, but still fine job.

4. Dan & Jordan -- you should've done the Terra task, but I like you more than the teams below you.

5. Carol & Brandy -- smart move going for the Terra task, but you aren't my favorite team.

6. Brent & Caitie -- now I really don't like you. You're lucky Jeff & Jordan were so far behind.

Philiminated: Jeff & Jordan. Idiots. Well, at least Jordan's an idiot.

1) Jet and Cord - Although there fun, they need to step it up some more
2) Steve and Allie - Good racers, keeping steady
3) Louie and Micheal - 3 legs in a row.
4) Dan and Jordan - a little better
5) Brandy and Carol - A little better
6) Brent and Caitie - Still not doing a whole lot
7) Jeff and Jordan - What a bunch of nimcumpoops

1. Louie & Michael: I don't think I like putting them up this high, but again they did well. I do credit part of that due to a lack of bunching points, but they also were smart enough to use the resources available to them.

2. Jet & Cord: Still my favorites. They slip to second because of their Champagne fiasco. They are lucky it didn't cost them much more.

3. Steve & Allie: The car issue presented a moment where a lot of other teams - especially those below you here - would have completely melted down. You didn't.

4. Dan & Jordan: I give them kudos for thinking about the detour and picking the one they had the most control over. I also admire their demeanor throughout the task - even at the end where they thought to stack the glasses. They were patient with the champagne, which also helped.

5. Carol & Brandy: I agree with Nutzy about Brandy.

6. Caite & Brent: I agree with Nutzy again. STFU!

Philiminated: *moment of silence* Jeff & Jordan. I didn't expect you to win it all. I like that you can laugh at yourselves, and I like that there was no real negativity between the two of you. You had fun. I had fun.

1. Carol and Brandy - When they are communicating well and not fighting, they do well. I'm not sure how long thay can keep it up though.

2. Steve and Allie - WHO?

3. Jet and Cord - A little arrogant. They better get over themselves and stop making stupid mistakes.

4. Dan and Jordan - Well done with the champagne pyramid.

5. Louie and Michael - So cocky this week. Louie is the weak link. I'm wondering what's going to happen if Louie needs to do a very physical road block?

6. Caite and Brent ...................empty space, just like inside Caite and Brent's heads!

Philiminated: Jordan and Jeff - They were funny. Shouldn't have gone before Brent and Caite.

1. Louie/Michael - I really want their luck to run out, but I'll give them credit. First three legs in a row is impressive.
2. Dan/Jordan - Just for completing the glass pyramid.
3. Jet/Cord - Step it up, guys.
4. Steve/Allie - On the bright side, they finally got some TV time.
5. Carol/Brandy
6. Caite/Brent - Jeff and Jordan are out, so some team has to be on the bottom.

Philiminated: Jeff/Jordan - Dumba$$es all the way.

Have had a incredibly busy week - It's taken to now for me to get to this:

1)Jet & Cord - They seem to not feel any stress about the race and just enjoy the ride.

2)Dan & Jordan - Accomplishing that tower task was pretty impressive and they actually were in first place at a point in this leg.

3)Carol & Brandy - A little too whiny for me.

4)Michael & Louie - They are now the ones who needs to get knocked down a peg.

5)Caite & Brent - Each week they find a way to seem dumber than the last. And why is KatieCaite so bitter towards Carol & Brandy? Either somethings been edited out or KatieCaite is way too sensitive. We've only heard the "Where's her tiara?" comment secondhand and even if it was said, is that such an insulting comment that it warrants her everlasting hatred?

6)Steve & Allie - Just because.

Phliminated: All the laughs that could be had at their expense have been used up anyway.

1. Jet and Cord (1,1,1,1,1)- Dumb mistakes won't get you dropped yet, but you need to learn to read the clue. The second mistake wasn't your fault, though, just bad race luck. And despite all that, you only dropped one spot, so kudos.
2. Steve and Allie (7,3,2,2,2)- Way to fix the car, and for actually getting some airtime this episode.
3. Louie and Michael (8,7,7,6,3)- Doing well and nothing to drop you.
4. Dan and Jordan (6,6,4,4,5)- You had me worried, which keeps you from moving up, but managing to figure out cathedral keeps you from dropping.
5. Carol and Brandy (4,4,3,3,4)- You just really don't seem like you're having much fun on the race.
6. Caite and Brent (9,8,6,5,6)- Way to bicker over everything. And you don't respect each other at all, so that either needs to change or you need to break up.

Philiminated: Jordan and Jeff (5,5,5,8,7)- We all knew you weren't going to last to the end.

1. Dan and Jordan - Their success with the tower of champagne glasses deserves kudos.

2. Steve and Allie - Duct tape rules!

3. Carol and Brandy - Middle of the road annoying this episode (compared to the competition) so middle of the road ranking. At least they acknowledged that they could live in the countryside (especially if an urban center were close enough for day trips).

4. Louie and Michael - Three wins in a row is impressive, but the tasks have not been all that difficult and there have not been bunch points to mess with their rhythm so I don't think their growing self-satisfaction is warranted.

5. Plane and Cable - Maybe, just possibly, sometimes it is better to think through a clue rather than just hopping in the car and driving.

6. Brute and Katie - Beauty is only skin deep, but stupid goes all the way to the bone.

Week Six Results

For the first time in my memory, the lvoe list is exactly the same as the previous week, with the exception of dropping Jordan & Jeff due to elimination. Although the overall ranks didn't change, first place team Jet & Cord are losing their dominance little by little - just .55 ahead of second place Steve & Allie.

Without their partners in stupidity, Caite & Brent wind up as the least lvoed team this week.
