"How about this for a start to the race?"

In my discussion about the premiere of Survivor: HvV, I was talking about the Super Bowl....

Well, I thought of another potential Super Bowl tie in, which would also be an entertaining start to the race, I'd think.

Have you ever parked your car in a huge parking lot (like a football game, or a theme park), and had trouble finding it? Well, imagine trying to find a car that you didn't even park...

Now imagine this at halftime of the SuperBowl. Phil walks out onto the field and introduces the teams participating in the next Amazing Race. He gives them their normal pre-race speech, and tells gives them his patented "travel safe" warning. They rush off to grab their bags, and the first clue is:

Take one of the 11 cars in the parking lot outside to Miami International Airport, once there, take one of two flights to Insert Destination and flight numbers here. Your car is marked by a yellow and red flag hanging from the rearview mirror.

So, the teams are stuck searching thru thousands of cars to find one of the 11 cars the race has put there....

I think they might be concerned if everyone knows what the teams look like before the race starts.

I do kinda like if they have to find the cars they aren't all together thing. I don't know if there is a difference in how you set that up (what the facility would allow) but you can only do that if you don't have specific flights set up for the first leg, and they often do that. I assume it makes production easier on the start if they know everyone will be there within a specific amount of time and if you do something that may take too long you may end up with people a day behind from the start.

I like the searching for your car idea, but you'd have to limit it to certain lots. I can't imagine how long it would take to search all of the lots. I once lost my car (which I did park) at a much smaller airport, and it took over half an hour to find it.

Sounds like you've been to Dodger Stadium on Opening Day...

I say why not try it though -- since TAR has a long tradition of difficult 'hunt' tasks. However, like others have already said, limit the search area to one or two regions (200-300 cars?).
