Adjusting the volume.

Adjusting the color.

Checking the security tapes.

Making sure the yardman has cut and edged the lawn, and trimmed the hedges.

Filled bird feeders.

Checking the Ph of the pool water.

Making sure the locks on Fooner's cage are holding.

Tip-toeing out. Got a date with Helga.

Yep alrighty and goldang!
Trapped them air molecules in there right proper!
Wait! I guess this is like a nice "air molecule aquarium" you set up for your Mayor, right? Sheesh, couldn't have a more extravagant friend than you.
Pull out all the stops, y'know.

In my meanderings in the Wild, and especially since I still work a bit for the Gub'mint @ Explosive Ordnance Disposal, don't be surprised if one of my requisitions get's "misdirected" in the near future.

My nextdoor neighbor (87 years old) had a giant cache of fireworks (skyrockets, M80s - child bombs).
Took them over to Fire Station #5 for disposal. It'd look kinda bad, a guy that works for EOD with a "Buzzbomb" .
Who am I? Hitler? ← Wait! I did not eat Hitler!

You're welcome. I had to travel to Fiji to find just the right size air molecules. They had them there, bubbling up thru drinks poured over the shoulder from casks of locally brewed rum hooch.

Lotta research went into that.

I've been absent lately, but I have a valid excuse. I've been doing a bit of globetrotting with my family. We spent the last two weeks in Italy and Greece, visiting Rome, Naples, Capri island, Sorento, Pompeii, Delphi and Athens. We went with DD's school group tour along with two of her teachers and a number of her classmates and their parents.

Did you know that Pompeii (the town excavated in volcanic ash) had a thriving avenue of brothels? In one brothel they excavated, there were sexually explicit murals of the various positions that one could try out with the ladies. In case you couldn't find your way there, the main avenue down the center of the town has phallic engravings carved in the stones to point you to the way to sensual pleasures.

And what is it with Italians and nudity? Even in the Vatican, there are statues and paintings of naked men, women and babies!

It was quite an adventurous trip with a number of various "firsts". While I stepped out from the hotel for a smoke on the streets of Athens, I was propositioned out of the blue for the first time in my life by a sweet young Athenian lady who first asked for a cigarette and then for sex at her place. Alas, in spite of the temptation to say yes, I had to say no, eliciting a pout from the dear Grecian lady.

Well, guys, I'm back in the States, where it's back to business as usual.

Quite an itinerary in that amount of time. Herding students thru that many places in two weeks can be challenging. So congrats. Hope you found some time to enjoy your visits. My sister has taken college age students on longer summer stints thru Europe for about 25 years, and it takes fortitude. But she also got paid vacations out of it.

If you do it again, and if you haven’t already, try Turkey, Ephesus also has brothel Ruins. And Italy has nothing on Greece when it comes to naked art. You can’t find a postcard rack there that doesn’t have an array of art depicting figures with monster erect penises. Not in porn shops mind you, but in tourist traps. It’s kinda fun to send some of these back home, but the friends you send these to will side-eye you when you return.

Helga will be proud that you were faithful. However, she never promised that she would be. Business as usual for her also.

Yup, in addition to the postcards, you could get decks of playing cards with sexually explicit art in the Greek tourist shops.

Of all the places we went, I kind of liked Capri island the best. It's a tourist destination for sure, but the atmosphere and friendliness of locals suit me. You have to be in shape, though! The narrow streets and walkways traverse a steep hill and it's a bit of a maze to find your way around. The same was true of old town Bari on the Italian east coast, where the local guide took us to meet the family-owned restaurants and cafes and sample some of their delicious food fare. The people in own town Bari have a tradition of family-owned businesses and having their newly-wed daughters live just above them after they marry. Sons go live above the new wife's family. No escaping the constant scrutiny of the in-laws!

Turkey is high up on "my next places to visit". I'd like to explore Istanbul and some of the other cities/towns of historical antiquity.

I'm retiring at the end of next year, and global travel is something DW and I like to do a lot of.

Rule #1 in ruin castle/ruin visiting; Every ruin and castle is located at the highest ground. If you aren't in shape for those climbs when you start of your trip, you will be at the end.

Sadly one of the more interesting parts of Turkey is the area that juts down toward Syria in the east. But western and central Turkey certainly has a lot to see, Ephesus, Troy, Istanbul, Cappadocia, Denali, etc. Greek Ruins and caravansaries galore. I rented a vehicle in Istanbul and did an ad hoc reservation-less trek thru to the Syrian border once, very memorable. Very friendly people, I still communicate with some I met then.

No one has been to "Mitad del Mundo"

Kinda looks like me, after that illegal surgeon took the other one, which now has probably fathered half the children in China. Well, what can you do? At least "half right" is better than wrong.

At the rate that this board moves, it'll take me forever to get to the 20k posting milestone.

Well, this makes it one post closer to the promised land.

Tell me this isn't true.

That Mr. Holier than thou is saying the we shouldn't be posting here anymore because he deems it dead, not cool, passé, or whatever? That we shouldn't be allowed to have our little fun in an all but forgotten corner of the web?

SBOT will rise again! And we'll be kings I tell ya, kings.

I think he's referring to the Lions. They don't have a chance to win the NFC North this year.

Either that, or it could be about the OT forum, too.

We can put him in the dubious category for now. Either a step above (if you dislike the Lions) or a step below (if you like OT) Norbert.
