"Secret Santa Sign Up Thread"

Yep! It's true! I will coordinate.
You might not get your present until New Years, but better late than never.
May as well Party like it's 1999!

Foonermint's Rules:

1. All gifts must be affordable to the sender.
Feel free to go into the poorhouse after you pay your credit card bill, later.

2. Send me your name and address.
It's nothing that Amazon probably sells on the internet anyway. Makes you feel special, doesn't it?

3. Post here for you likes and dislikes.
I used to have a girlfriend who didn't like both chocolate and roses. Needless to say, that affair didn't last.

Everyone will receive a present! I'm looking at a slurry of Canadian geese right now on the golf course. No one will know if a few are missing..

So you'll get all the names and addresses via red wavy flag (which never stops waving) and divvy out the names? by same red wavy?

Is that like: "Responsible for the sunrise" or more like: "Responsible for whatever happened to Jimmy Hoffa"?

It was a toss-up between him and DB Cooper. Jimmy won.

I understand Jimmy sleeps with the fishes. But I am here to end that rumor.

I think he sleeps with the worms.

Red flag contains secret inside info.

I like fine scotch whiskey. Somehow someone got me going on that stuff. Or fine Tennesse/Kentucky whisky. Or maybe a Shiner brew.

I think your ex was angling for something of a permanent nature. Gemstones. Gold. Like that.

Naw, she wants me to pay off her gambling debts.

she needs to sober up and stay away from those Indian Casinos!

Hey, come to think of it, I wand a deed to one under the tree! For those who care, my fruitcake is still going strong, 5 years later. Good as new!

As a member of the underground movement to move holidays around, I declare yesterday to be November Christmas, in commemoration of the day Christ invented ribbed cans for cranberry sauce. A little known but tenacious part of the holiday spirit.

Also little known, January 25 is January Christmas, when Christ sat down around a campfire with Budda and invented moonshine.

Febuary 25 is Fruitcake Christmas when it is customary to mail one to a nephew/niece who save them for your grave. It is said that fruitcakes were found in King Tut's tomb.

They were. I have part of it in my sock drawer. Like a holy relic - splinter from the True Cross - Virgin's Tears - A Bit of Sheet Metal from The Tin Man - Film of the Original Alien Autopsy - Hair from The Blair Witch - ...

Wow, that Witch really NEEDED Miz Clairol, and those split ends! Scary!

Red wavy on the way.

What I like... a good book, a keepsake/souvenir of something where you're from, chocolates (dark), anything you think unique to my character (one year, I got a Smurf!).

Spare me the roses and geese, although a golden egg would be kinda cool.

$210 grand per egg per day for $76 mill a year?

You could pay off your ex's gambling debts with that.

Or we could outright buy a town and rename it Foonerville.

Just a reminder, it's Foonerville™. Legal niceties are important. I often forget too, considering that I voted for Kingfishville™. Or Moonshineville™. But I'm fine with Foonerville™, fewer problems with the IRS or ATF guys for me that way.

OK, I've decided. The woman. She looks dangerous, and I want to see ALL her tattoos.

Fooner, check your red wavy. I sent one earlier but it seems like it got lost in transit.

As for goodies, I can't promise tattooed supermodels, Harleys, round trip tickets to Delhi, India, or islands in the midst of the Sulu Sea. To be on the safe side, I might even let my DD pick something out.

And guessing my Secret Santa...

Deducing from the Louisiana origin of the pecans, I would presume that it's Kingfish.

But wait, wouldn't that mean that fooner is his own Secret Santa? Might that explain why he hasn't revealed his present?

"Yea...received my SS gift!"
Posted by kingfish on 12-29-18 at 02:41 PM
Secret Santa came thru.

When I got back from a short trip, there it was, sitting on my doorstep. Unmolested by neighborhood dogs, and unnoticed by neighborhood street gangs and outlaw bikers. It probably arrived on Christmas eve, but being out of town ruined the careful timing SS went to great lengths to achieve. I should have been there.

So, opening the package, I was amazed to find what I was secretly hoping for all along, an box of Styrofoam peanuts. They really are so much fun to play with, static electricity makes them impossible to throwaway, they are more fun that a Lab pup that retrieves everything in the house.

However, my joy was short lived as I dove thru the box. Hidden inside was a wrapped package that gurgled.

Dismissing thoughts of Molotov cocktails, and remembering other delights that go gurgle in the night, I tore thru the wrapping and found a 12 year old bottle of GlenAllachie Single Malt Scotch. Which has even Styrofoam peanuts beat all to heck. Speyside Scotch distilleries are world famous and a favorite of mine, and although this is a new brand, I am all a tingle thinking about it.

Haven't broken the seal yet, this is special stuff, the kind you invite people with impeccable taste, refinement, and manners to sip quietly with over quiet conversation and Styrofoam peanut pong as one becomes slip sloppy drunk.

Thank you SS, this is an especially appreciated gift.

Hiring Igor to sit in my rocking chair on the front porch with a shotgun across his lap paid off. Of course, if he had known what was in it, they'd been able to steal the shotgun too.

BTW, (is it time to guess SSs?) Based on Christmases past, and knowing that Fooner knows my taste in inebrating substances, I would guess that Fooner is my SS. BUT - based on post 34 (above) I'd guess that Cahaya is really My SS. And since the field this year is so limited, I think somehow between the two, I guessed right.
