"Apprentice #6 Episode #2 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Posted by Estee on 01-14-07 at 04:40 PM
Please keep all discussion of tonight's episode on this thread until the West Coast gets to ask themselves the most vital question of the series-to-date: 'How can a winning team be exempt from the next task?' Let's think about this for a second. The losing team gets to compete against -- themselves? A team of Apprentice No-Stars? Donald and Ivanka roll up their sleeves and actually show the world what they can do, blow it as spectacularly as you'd expect, and one of them gets fired? Who knows how this is going to work out? No one. And who cares? Also no one. Personally, I'm going to the movies. Let me know if anything remotely interesting happens.

Don't all post at once...

Okay, so the teams had to put on a fashion show. Blah, blah, blah, all the usual arguing, foreshadowing, price point stuff, blah, blah, blah. Kinetic lost again. Arrow is exempt from next weeks task.

Okay, but how does the exemption work? They have the right to take the week off? Kinetic automatically goes to the Boardroom no matter what they do? Donald will take a nap?

Help...

Not sure how to interpret it. Apparently the team that lost this week will go head to head, and also the Laker girls will be involved. Not sure if that means the entire team will go against the laker girls, or if the team will split into two, and the laker girls will be involved.

the entire team will go against the laker girls

That's a win for the Laker Girls.

Swimsuits on the beach, "reward" at the Playboy mansion, and now the Laker girls. Anyone get the impression that this season's target audience are guys who have yet to mature beyond their teens, ala Trump himself? I realize that is a large demographic in terms of numbers (pretty sure not so much in other ways) but give me a break.

The winning team gets to go to the Playboy mansion and meet Hugh Heffner. "Heff" notices there are more girls than guys in the group. One person talks about how he is lucky to have three girlfriends. He can't marry them all, but he can have three girlfriends. The team continues outside where there are about thrity Playboy "bunnies" having a pool party. Another team member upset about Heidi being PM again.

Tent City:
Tim talking about being compatible with some teammates, but not others. Other team listening through shrubs (lol, that's hilarious how they've been doing that). One girl making emotional appeal: "It would suck to go this early, it really would"...

Another team member upset about Heidi being PM again.

And so it begins: the countdown on someone suggesting throwing a task to get rid of her as PM just started.

Sorry. We wanted to watch 60 Minutes (Yeah, yeah... we're old) and football went over, so it's 30 min. into Donald (we're taping) before we even could start. We picked up some of EHM while waiting for the game to end, and are also taping 24. DH decided we should finish EHM before going to something new. The Donald will have to wait.

I hope his ego can handle it. It's not like anyone on the west coast is actually counting on this thread to update them.

Trump says loss came down to Carey's bathing suit. Trump says he would look good in it ::shudder:: and Carey would look good in it, but no other man would. Carey defending suit saying they offered various options and a "gay suit" (his words) was one of the options. Trump: Carey had no fear wearing that suit.

Carey blames Michelle for the loss. Trump praises Heidi. Frank complains about tents. Trump says he'll be home soon enough. They start going down the line with votes. Four against Carey, two against Michelle, one against Nicole. Nicole will bring back Carey and Michelle.

Sorry to be so late to the party, but I have been gouching out my mind's eye since The Donald laid that quote on us.

Sometimes :shudder: isn't enough!

Heidi wants to determine if Carey should be fired for the bad choice, or Michelle for allowing it. Trump and Ivanka basically agree. Carey says he took a risk, and the team approved it. Michelle says they didn't, but he stuck with it. Carey says Michelle was indecisive about alot. Nicole agrees she wasn't stepping up. Carey is rambling on. Heidi says Michelle shouldn't be there because it shouldn't take the whole team to do pricing.

Trump pulls out the suit and asks who would wear this. Carey says plenty of men would. Ivanka asks if his target was too small. Trump says about one percent of the population may wear that. He says it would not sell. Carey says he didn't push it. Michelle says he forced it on the team.

Trump fires Carey
but says he can have the suit...

Not that I care too much, I didn't even bother to watch the previews (wow - this show really has fallen to the point of no return, hasn't it) but doesn't that signal the teams will be mixed up next week? Which would mean only a couple of members per team will be on the chopping block next week.

Or, does it mean that he'll chop the entire half (assuming the team is halved) that loses, or, if it's a complete disaster and the team has been left whole, the entire team?

Another possibility that hasn't been brought up... He's said the winning PM will continue to be PM. He hasn't guaranteed that they'll continue to be the PM of the winning team they were just on.

I finally watched this episode. I was hoping the wind would blow Trump's hair all over during the fashion show. But he obviously has some heavy duty product on it. Everything else was blowing around in the wind. But Trump's hair stayed put. I really think it would of helped ratings if we could have laughed at him with his hair blown over.

Carey's suit was an interesting choice. I think Carey wanted to wear that suit on TV and in front of everyone. He wanted to model it so badly that he forgot about the team and winning. It was all about him getting to wear this suit and show off. Bad choice on his part.

They are once again forecasting some big moment in the boardroom next time. Chances are they split the loser team in two. And the losing half all gets canned. Either that or nobody is considered a winner and all of Tent City go home. If the ratings keep falling they may want to end this season quickly.

I like the idea of firing half/all of a team, especially to speed the season up in the wake of poor ratings. But the whole season has already been filmed long before they know that the ratings are poor.
