I don't know, that MMA stuff looks pretty rough. Unless, of course, you're only counting team sports!

Those MMA guys do seem tough. But none of them have done what this guy did.

Any sport that one has to wear two carving knives strapped to your feet would tend to weed out the weenies pretty quick.

Any sport that involves sharks is really tough!!!(i.e. surfing)

Only NASCAR gives you the opportunity to kill your fellow competitors and not only suffer no legal penalties, but have people defending you for the act.

Which doesn't mean you have to be tough. Unless you're the person about to be killed.

Yeah, hockey is quite well known for having tough guys and overcoming injuries to keep playing.

Bobby Baun hurt his leg and had it frozen, then went out and scored the Stanley Cup-winning overtime goal in 1964 for the Maple Leafs. It was then found out that he severely broke his ankle. (A broken leg is one thing - skating on a broken ankle with all the turns required is another thing!)

Patrice Bergeron played in the Cup Finals three years ago with a broken rib, torn cartilage, torn muscles and a separated shoulder, and then added on a punctured lung in Game 6, putting him out for good. After Game 5, the team was worried that Bergeron had an injured spleen, but he said, "it was 'only' the rib, cartilage and muscles, and that he would be fine for Game 6".

The Bruins' Gregory Campbell broke his leg during a penalty kill and kept playing through it for another minute until the penalty was over, then he came out of the game.

There's a famous story where, during a brawl, a player went up to coach Odie Cleghorn at the bench and said that his right hand was broken. Odie asked him if his left hand was broken. No. "Then what are you doing here? Get out there and fight!"

A truck made an illegal turn and hit Witt who tried to jump on the hood of the vehicle before being thrown to the ground as he was hit. Witt picked himself up off the road, cursed, and assured the stunned onlookers that he was ok. Witt chose not to call police or get medical care, and was at the Islanders' morning skate just a few hours later.
