The method often used when hunting turkeys is to make clucking sounds. The males will walk right up to you if you keep still, and you can hear them coming, gobbling all the way.

Sometimes males aren't really all that bright, are they. I personally am glad Ben Franklin didn't get his way, I'd hate to be represented by such a dumb bird.
