Not actually "listening", per se, but I was just going through these when your post popped up. They're of the twins who were part of a band called 'Jughead' that played all over southern Ontario and Quebec. This one is at the renowned Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.

Is that Douglas? It's a great video memory of your friend.

I just listened to the first three Santana albums (Santana, Abraxas, Santana 3) for the first time in more than a year. All three are favorites. Next up, probably Moonflower.

Just got tickets to Santana, playing at JazzFest in New Orleans this year. The guy is a guitar genius.

Also to Tom Jones playing at the House of Blues during that time. Kind of a weird juxaposition, I guess, but Tom Jones is a master vocalist.

Also at the Fest, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen. And a lot more groups. And a lot of people.

And it's New Orleans, so it's also a lot of everything.

I've got to go there sometime. *sigh*

of course, it will probably fulfill my "Crowd Capacity Self" for the next ten years.

I want the Grand Marshal VIP Pass, too.

A VIP pass would be nice. I'll be in the cheap seats though.

I used to go to Jazz Fest every year until the crowds became just too much. Haven’t been back since the mid-nineties.

But I'll go this year to watch the headline acts and some of my old New Orleans favorites, Irma Thomas, Mavis Staples, and the surprises that show up. I haven’t gone down the entire list yet.

And the food. Jazz Fest is also a foodies delight. Served up in simple plastic bowls and Styrofoam cups, it is so good. Plus, if you can get a table during that time, restaurant eating is as good as it gets.

I've never been and looking at who'll be there, I want to go! Wow, seven days of music.

Including John Fogerty of the former band CCR, whose albums I was listening to before Santana!

Maybe I'll play Slowhand next.

It sounds so far outside my normal parameters that I'm fascinated too. Sandee would love it (although she has shown a disturbing preference for cinnamon "Fireball" whisky - she'll put down an ENTIRE miniature in about an hour and a half if we're having friends over and it's a Saturday).
The things men have to put up with.

Lately this. The bass player is a friend from way back in high school now living and working in Kobe, Japan. Tim was always a dedicated bass player and has been playing with Kelly Simonz for several years.
oh, and if you're wearing headphones, you might want to turn the volume down at first. then enjoy.

p.s. It's a fiddle when you buy it, a violin if you're selling. p.p.s. James Blunt is very good.
