We can but hope.

My secondary wish is that he can see Idol coming to an end and is looking for a backup job -- one which will be canceled too. NBC's tried this trick before with game shows, but... well, you know how that works out. Deal Or No Deal caught. Nothing else did. And premiering it in September just tells me how afraid they are of their own primetime lineup. NBC: twelve days of play to give away -- ten thousand dollars? Cumulative? The host's salary may be five hundred times or more what any contestant ever sees.

Incidentally, a recently-concluded MCR instant win had an autographed Seacrest picture as a low-level prize. They shipped a couple of weeks ago. People opened the envelopes and screamed.

Actual retail value according to the MCR contest rules: $8.00.

Seems high.
