Who would rather see Anthony's Weiner than Bloomburg's?

Either way, we're screwed.

After a two-year campaign, the Los Angeles mayor's election is finally over.

The winner -- well, I really don't care. They're all the same to me. But at least we're saved from the inane and irritating ads. At least for the next month or two until the battle for the 2017 race gets under way.

Yes, I do know that Garcetti won. That's not the point of the rant.

Decisions, decisions. I can vote for the corrupt comptroller, the sexting pervert or the drunken lesbian.

Anthony Weiner - resigned from congress over sexting scandal.

John Liu - Current City Comptroller who is under investigation for campaign financing fraud.

Christine Quinn - leading in most polls but that was before Weiner entered the race and her admission of enjoying the booze a little too much a few years back.

In the race but not polling well:

Bill DeBlasio - Public Advocate. No one really knows what a Public Advocate does. His wife might be the most interesting thing about his campaign.

Bill Thompson - the Democratic nominee in the last mayoral election. But he was seen as a sacrificial lamb to the expected Bloomberg landslide.

Two Republicans - Joe Lhota and John Catsimatidis. Not well known and not taken very seriously.

A more thorough list here:

No one really knows what a Public Advocate does.

Over the last three terms, the answer would be 'Gets totally ignored.'

You'd think the drunken lesbian would have to be more fun.

Well, more fun that four years of juvenile jokes about Mayor Weiner.

Hey, I was looking forward to making juvenile jokes about Weiner's weiner.

We've about exausted all the juvenile Bloomburg jokes there are, so we need a change.

However, a drunk lesbian mayor might be fun. A drunk lesbian running against Weiner's weiner? Fun!

These jokes would probably be in bad taste, but since when has that mattered? Drunken lesbians don't take us seriously anyway, and neither does Weiner's weiner.

Drop out now Anthony, please.

Oy.

One newspaper might be a case of a bias against the mayor, but when you now have two different newspapers with different drug stories ... well, when there's smoke, there's fire.

A picture on the front of the Thursday NY Times revealed that Weiner's fantabulous new pad in Gramercy Park is in fact directly across the street from the building that housed my previous job. Just another reason to be glad I'm no longer there.

When he lived in Forest Hills, we worked out at the same gym. Odd how in a city as big as NY there are still so many connections.
