The company behind the "Girls Gone Wild" video empire has filed for bankruptcy.

I'd say good riddance but unfortunately they're just trying to reduce how much they owe people, get some judge to allow them to pay off their debts for pennies on the dollar while they stay in business. Scumbums.

The original runner for that company is, as you said, one of the biggest scumbags in the industry. There are people praying they get a prejudicial judge -- and few will mourn if they go down. But it's probably going to be one of those 'the good die young, the rotten last forever' cases. And it likely won't touch Francis in any way.

Pity. There's a man who could use a good $10,300,000 kick in the crotch.

Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis has some choice words for the jury who found him guilty of falsely imprisoning three women in his California home. They're "mentally retarded" "stupid idiots" who are "jealous" of him and should be "put in jail" or even "lined up and shot."

Francis, 40, was found guilty May 6 of three counts of false imprisonment and one of assault likely to cause great bodily injury.

Prosecutors say Francis could face five years, though legal sources told The Hollywood Reporter such a sentence was unlikely. "At the most I could get 90 days of anger management," Francis said.

Juries hate him because they want his life, he thinks. "I have private jets, I have a great life, I'm a good-looking guy," Francis said. "I'm not conceited, but like -- look, I have girls around me all the time, whatever I want. I make a lot of money. It's a great life. If I wasn't me, I'd f--ing hate me."

Winning!

Apparently his PR agent (oh, what a life that must be) decided to fake a few words on the client's behalf, because I just spotted a story on TV Guide's site implying that Joe Francis regretted his words to the jury and wished to apologize. However, when I checked the link, I got a server error. Because no part of the Internet truly believes Joe Francis is capable of apology or regret for his actions.

I and many others look forward to his imprisonment. Long may it continue.

http://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/TV/2013/05/24/Joe-Francis-apologizes-for-his-appalling-comments/UPI-14691369401507/

"I deeply regret the remarks attributed to me in the interview with The Hollywood Reporter," the 40-year-old Girls Gone Wild founder said in a statement Thursday.

Some apology.

Francis said he was frustrated by the outcome of the trial but is "truly ashamed of my comments and how they were taken out of context.

"I am truly, truly sorry. I hope everyone will understand I was not being serious and that I fully and deeply apologize for my remarks. And I ask for people's understanding if they were in my position."

blahblahblaah blahblah

Whatever punishment he gets, he probably deserves a lot worse, and for many other things as well.

And for the record, I am not jealous of him and would not want his life. I wouldn't want Hugh Hefner's life either, and him I do respect. Not the life for me.

The comments section here is worth reading:

How sorry do you think he is?

I keep waiting for him to say his voicebox was hacked.

I'll agree with one of the comments on that page: he's a sorry sack of @#$%. Here's hoping he doesn't get a minimum security facility -- and that no one decides to give him any fame cred.
