What I don't like about FB is that you have to join to view other peeps pages.

I have a shell account (alias with no info at all) that I use to check out selected family & friend pages, but I have no clue at all how to find any of the OT folks here, nor do I want to.

Facebook is just such a technology. It does things on our behalf when we're not even there. It actively misrepresents us to our friends, and worse misrepresents those who have befriended us to still others...

Facebook does not exist to help us make friends, but to turn our network of connections, brand preferences and activities over time -- our "social graphs" -- into money for others.

Born in the Philippines MANY MANY MANY years ago, emigrated to the US and became a US citizen. In about 25 days, I'm going to back where it all started. I'm excited. Got all my recommended vaccinations, got my passport, and I'm all ready to go.

I enjoyed my first and only visit to the Philippines! About ten years ago, I was there for a week to work with their Customs department along with Malaysian Customs for ASEAN Customs electronic data exchange.

We ventured around a lot while we were there!

Togalog and Malay are quite similar in language, too.
