"Susan the Housewife"

I haven't seen every minute of every episode but I think there are a couple of things I need cleared up about Susan.

1) Don't you have to be wife to be a housewife?

2) Does she have a job? If not, how does she afford such a nice house? Huge alimony cheques? Rich family? Say what you want about Edie, at least she works for a living.

I know I know, I'm nitpicking. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Hiya Bucky!

She's an ex-wife. Her ex has been shown on the show a number of times. I do remember hearing mention of her having a job but I can't remember what it was. I believe it was something that she works from home. My guess is that she got the house in the divorce but I'm not 100% sure.

i thought last night she mentioned something about finishing a book when she ran into mike's house and found edie there. i get this feeling she is some kind of journalist or writer.

Her ex left her for his secretary, who has now cheated on him.

She does something with books, I think an illustrator of children's books.

Edie has had four husbands, I think.

Edie has had four husbands, I think.
Bonus points if you can say whose.

Keeping myself amused since, forever.

Susan telling someone (Mike? at Mary Alice's wake, maybe)she illustrates kid's books. She was also shown in one episode sitting at her drawing table. Must be lucrative based on the house How do I get in on that?

When I think of Susan what keeps coming back is how funny it was to see Edie spraying her down with the hose in her front yard.

That was hilarious.

I think she's a writer of some sort.

I agree. Susan's sense of timing is awful. If I was going to confess I would've at least waited until I got back home. Definitely not out in the middle of a lake, and definitely not while I needed the other person to drive me back home. Out of all the characters, Susan takes the most of the crap and you feel sorry for her, but it's so hilarious!

Ha! I never even thought about her timing until you mentioned it. Very funny. She seems to act off her emotions more than thinking things through. And that's what I like about her.

I missed the part where they referred to her profession. Based on how often she is seen working and on the house she lives in I think I am going to do as Moonie suggested and get in on some of that action.
