"Wanted: Donald Trump's Sense of Humour"

Posted by PepeLePew13 on 02-13-13 at 10:39 AM
I'm willing to pay $5 million* if anyone associated with Donald Trump can prove in an affidavit that he does, indeed, possess a sense of humour.

To wit: He's suing Bill Maher for not paying up $5 million when Trump proved that he's not the son of an orangutan. This was in response to Trump's offer of $5 million to charity if Obama would release his college records. Not to be outdone, Stephen Colbert had a $1 million bet of his own to Trump.

So what else can we bet $5 million on Trump doing or not doing? Getting him to shut up would be such a tall order, you'd have to offer $50 million for him to do so.

Oh, please. You'd offer him the fifty million, he'd go to sleep, claim he'd been quiet for six hours, and try to collect. Gotta specify duration with this sort of thing because he will do his best to screw you. But you? Are not allowed to return the favor. Because that would be wrong, although no one's sure why.

But I can prove he has a sense of humor. See the cast lists he keeps releasing for his Celebrity Apprentice editions? He's calling those people -- celebrities!

*snicker*

Funny man.

Ivana and Marla would both be quite willing to testify that Donald talks - a lot - in his sleep about how great he is.

Boy, the lies just never stop, do they?

Actually, that's the first time I actually approve of anything Trump has done.

Maher made a smirky snarky offer based on Trumps idiotic reward offer, and Trump is trying to get him to pay up. I think Trump can seriously claim that had someone fulfilled the requirement for his $5 Mill, he would have paid. So, if Trump can prove that he's not the son of an orangutan, Maher should also be made to pay up.

A recorded oral contract could be valid. Nice move by Trump.

There is humor, both ways, there, even though this lawsuit will surely go nowhere.

You wouldn't enjoy seeing a snarky comic hoist with his own petard?

Come on, you know you would.

*In Monopoly money, that is.

With Trump playing the iron token in an attempt to smooth out the cloth of business, but guess what, it's out of the game.

The problem is that given Donald's last few years of proving himself jerk, he might decide Pepe had entered a contract with him and demand payment. A typical Monopoly game has $15,140 of worthless paper in the fake bank. So in order to get five million fake dollars, you'd need to buy 3,247 copies of the most standard edition available, since Donald is not in a contract position to demand you purchase only the one with the ruby houses. At roughly $15.00 apiece, that comes out to $48,705.

So basically, Pepe's screwed.

All I've got to do is to print these out and I'm good.

You assume, though, that The Donald does have a sense of humour. He's got to prove that first.

Actually, I'm assuming he'll try to put the fiscal joke on you. And as for printing your own -- ye gawds, man, how much do you pay for ink & paper? Especially the ink? Buying the games might ultimately be cheaper.

Plus you could throw the hotels at him and yell "Another Trump hollow property!" That's always fun.

I can't help but think that you guys are just missing the humor of Trump's response. Especially after reading the title of the original post. (Is Canadian 'Humour' the same as regular 'Humor'?)

Trump's original proposal was obviously a failed but jocular attempt to embarrass Obama. No wit, no humor, not even much intelligence there, admittedly. And it failed.

Maher’s response was again a joke, and the orangutan reference to Trump's hair was pretty funny.

But Maher didn’t get the last word as he usually does when he goes after soft targets, and Trump's response was inspired. So much so that I figure someone else must have given him this idea. I saw an interview of Maher afterward, and he just couldn't believe that Trump was suing him over a late night show joke. He was in consternation, even though he must realize that nothing will come of it. Maybe he’s just pretending in order to extend this time in the spotlight and slow the slide of his career.

But there was humor there. That was funny. One thing about being a billionaire, he can afford to waste money on lawyers, even if it’s just to make a point.

Simply put: I don't see humor in it because I feel he's completely serious.

Even more simply put: Trump is a joke.

(eta) And as Mister Kingfish will also attest, No-Trump rules the bridge table.

I do find it disquieting to be giving Trump credit for anything imaginative. I am not a fan.

But even Trump can accidently stumble on a gem, especially if, as I suspect, he appropriated the idea from someone else.

And a No-Trump situation would be what we all would prefer, even if it screws up the hand.

KidFlash's article links to another which notes Donald's just sold one of his AC casinos for a city-record price of $20,000,000 -- which is the record low. A casino isn't necessarily a license to print your own money and they can suffer during recessions, but it's still a decent long-term asset to hold onto. Add that sale to the current lawsuits, and it makes me very curious about the current state of his finances.

If he is having financial problems, it won't be the first time.
He sure bounced back after his troubles back in the '80s (I think that's when it was).

Not once, but four times. Tho, that's corporate bankruptcy we're talking about here, using (and abusing) the rules of Chapter 11 willingly - I don't think he's ever had a personal bankruptcy.

According to Donald, Barack Obama cannot climb stairs in a Presidential manner. It's inelegant and presumably robs all dignity from the office while proving just how much better off we'd be with Putin at the helm.

I didn't have to add much to that.

Um... Donald... considering your own track record, are you really someone who wants harsher penalties for lying within the media...?
