Now: what are the odds that the voting public gets rid of Marie 'for her own good'? (More or less than the odds of the show getting rid of Samantha for our own good?)

I'm going to pretend that I didn't laugh at what you just said! But I have to admit, I didn't give her any votes-I haven't since the beginning, and wasn't planning to throughout the entire season.

She made the comment that there are millions of Osmonds (and Mormons/Utah residents, etc) that will hold her up, so she certainly doesn't need MY vote, anyway.

I like Marie as a personality, but as a dancer, performer, ehh.

I wouldn't purposely vote her off 'for her own good'. I've tried voting her off because I just don't think she's AS good as so many others obvioulsy think-including the judges, who seem to be blinded by her light.

BTW, oops, I did it again, and I promise, girl scout's honor that I DIDN'T mean to!!! It was the wording that got me into trouble this time, I think.........

I can just picture a small number of people deciding she's not healthy enough to remain in the competition and withdrawing their votes, figuring she's better off going out next. I'd even guess that actually happened for a few voters. I just don't think it's enough to make a real difference.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Marie go out tonight, but if that happens, I'll put it down to performance issues more than health ones. As almost usual, my prediction to leave is Mark -- but Cameron could come (and go) out of nowhere to stand under the red light.

Hey - Mistyrose -- you're in the right place this time
These threads generally don't have sigpics or other graphics, so even if they get large, most of us on dial up don't have to wait too long for the thread to load.
I have no idea who is in the bottom two. I think Mel, Sabrina, Cameron and Jennie are safe. If Mel is in the bottom 2, that would mean she has close to zero audience support.

mistyrose is here with the rest of us, yeah! Good to have ya in the real discussion thread, gal.

Has any other performer danced to their own music on the show? I was wondering because of Melanie danced to a Spice Girls song.

It was supposed to be sexy, but then the faint heard round the world.

The tone was set for an unpredictable night.

When nothing can be taken for granted, who goes home tonight.

Opening Credits.

All the stars on stage, and Marie still in the faint-inducing dress, or maybe that is just when you look at it.

J Lo. performs.

Last night all about the Drama.

Recaps

Recap stuff.

Mark says he would wish for more than good dancing if he rubbed a lamp.

Jane says she is 56 being compared to Edyta it's amazing.

Cameron says having to act like Edyta is hot is so difficult

Jennie agrees with Bruno that she ran out of steam, but she has Len

Sabrina happy for the 10 from Bruno

Helio and Julianne wonders what is going on with Len and his dentist.

Mel happy about 2 10s Maks happy about meeting spice girls

Marie says at least only a few people saw that. She's had lots of tests and she gets stressed or winded she stops breathing.

Jennifer looks fabulous.

Brit should take notes.

You can look really hot and sexy even when you are covered up.

Talking with Marie and Helio.

She doesn't know exactly what happened, but the air quality is bad and she got a lot of emails.

Which fell quicker, my body or the scores.

Next week the add a group dance.

Asking Helio if they are going the wrong direction. He only goes one direction, left.

Rock and Roll number for the group dance.

The choreographer and his dancers do a dance for us.

"Rock n Roll Group Dance"

That was great! I've never seen that type of dance. Is it Ballroom, Latin, Swing?

I'm afraid of the celebrities even trying it though.

It kind of looked like the lindy hop. Any dancers out there that know?

"RE: Rock n Roll Group Dance"

That would be my guess - the music was blistering fast and our tv reception wasn't the greatest last night.

It was lindy and swing. The music was atrocious though, IMO.

With the pros from the show doing the dancing.

Discussion of how hard it is to do the choreography for the dances.

"J.Lo 2.0"

Damn that was fun! That's entertainment people!

J.Lo.,professional dancers, the crowd.....spectacular.

And apparently the girl is preggers. Outstanding.

I commented to my DH that she is a true entertainer. She worked the crowd and even did some of the dance steps that the pros were doing. That was an awesome show for just one song.

5 couples await their fate.

Talking to Mel and Maks and Mark and Julianne

Maks says he is proud of Mel and he is very happy...all said in a really deadpan voice.

Mark says it's out of his control now so he's just having a good time.

Tom wants to apologize about it being only one couple, not two.

Training and day jobs starting to take its toll.
Discussion of schedule.

Jane and Tony

Carrie Ann is shocked, but with so much talent.
Bruno says they'd lose entertainment.
Len who do you want to see back?
Entertainer vs Ballet, he says he always goes with class and elegance.

Cue the scary music.

Aww, that's a shame. I really came to like Mark Cuban. That man worked harder that anyone else I've seen on the show, any season. He literally nothing to loose. He's not an entertainer, or in show biz, just business. He's not physical at all, and yet he gave it more seriousness and determination than the others.

Shame he just can't dance on this level. I wonder which tycoon they'll con into this next season.

Well, the women certainly outnumber the men now.

"Mark's reaction"
Posted by JGTsgirl on 10-24-07 at 00:50 AM
Did he say "It's over - thank God", when they announced he was the one leaving? It sure looked like it to me. I'm not the best lip-reader, but it seemed pretty obvious. And kinda strange too - all his "on-camera" comments seemed to indicate he wanted to stay. I guess he's a good actor too.

"Ah, Mark, we hardly knew ye....."
Posted by mistyrose52 on 10-24-07 at 11:40 AM
I didn't watch-never watch-the kick off. I have other places to be in the "House", if you catch my drift, and though I usually TiVo, my husband wanted his Unit Tivo'd last night, so that was it.

BUT, I wouldn't doubt that Mark was thanking someone for leaving. He really looked to be in pain in the last few episodes. That hip really has barely had time to heal, and now maybe, it will. We have to, or at least I will, give him KUDO'S for giving it all he had!

I really don't think it was a personality thing that he was voted off, I really think it was just his time to go. That hip really kept him from free-lancing and being the dancer that the others were moving up to be.

Good luck, Mark. Hope this doesn't mean you're going to get down and lonely, and end up drinking from a brown paper bag under a bridge somewhere......As if!

I would like to go on DWTS so I can lose 30+ pounds in a couple of months.

I know that a few of the professional dancers have released a workout DVD. The reviews have been mixed.

hubby and I took ballroom dance classes this summer-once a week. I lose a few pounds just doing that. I can imagine if you were doing it daily, and in training on top of that!
In Mark's case, he probably could have lost more, if he wasn't trying to protect that hip of his.

I am sure his orthopedic surgeon was relieved when Mark finally got cut.

hmm, i don't buy that she fainted because she forgot to breathe. I know Miss Osmond is everyone's favorite daughter, but either she IS very sick, or WAS very high. You only need to watch the video to see that she was behaving oddly, a little to loud, too fidgety, even for her. Looked to me like she was 'DUI', Dancing Under the Influence....
