For tonight's show.

First thing taht needs to be said is that Lukas' encore performance of "Creep" was 100x better than his performance last night.

I did get goosebumps tonight.

Magni with a "plugged in" version of The Dolphin's Cry for the second encore. Certainly an awesome way to use the first repeat encore winner.

They certainly picked the best two. They both did great encores.

There is NO WAY that Ryan should be standing. Hopefully Brooke will tell him to sit down soon.

I absolutely LOVED Josh's song tonight. Keep the boy around. He adds some variety to the lineup. Jill's song didn't do anything for me tonight.

I think Josh sealed his own fate tonight.

Last night the band told him they didn't like him playing the guitar, it took away from his performance.

Tonight, in the bottom three, he's playing the guitar again?

I'm thinking he's in trouble tonight unless the last performance is terrible.

I liked Josh's performance tonight. It is not the type of performance I would rewind and replay but it was still well done.

I liked it as well, but when the band that you are trying to join tells you they didn't like something from your last performance, and you ignore that advice when in the bottom three?

Not a smart move IMO.

Perhaps it was a poor move for this competition but there is no way he is going to win so I figure he just decided to do what he is comfortable with and gain the exposure.

Jill deserves to go.

I disagree.

I think its Jill's time to go.

Ryan was awesome.

Yeah, that did seal his fate. Maybe at that point in the competition he knew he wasn't right for the band so he decided he would just do his own thing anyway. I suppose I admire that in a way.

I think Josh is talented but when I was falling asleep during Interstate Love Song I knew something wasn't right!

I am very surprised. There is no way I would have thought that Ryan would make the bottom three. I doubt they will send him home (<---- said with gritted teeth and a sense of pleading because I am becoming a Ryan fan).

Both of these performances were delivered as though they either didn't want to be here any longer or knew they wouldn't be here any longer.

I missed the show coz I was curled up in my bed (I'm on the other side of the world and it's breakfast time here).

From a post above it seems Josh has gone? Say it isn't so.

Whilst he might not have been right for SN he did at least provide a respite each week from some of the screaming.

The ladies in my household are going to be most upset when they see the show tonight.

Actually, Josh and Jill are both gone. It was the two-fer no one thought would happen (I think most figured it would be Jill/Zayra or Jill/Patrice). Again, I think it was easy to see both had to go tonight.

Well, I called the two-fer tonight. I just didn't predict it would be Jill and Josh. Prior to the show, I thought Jill and Patrice would both go home tonight.

hi, new to posting here, been lurking on/off most of this season...

I agree about Jill/Patrice, that's what DH and I thought too. I'm very disappointed to see Josh go, I was becoming a big fan. However, I think he hit the nail on the head when in his farewell he said from the start, it was evident he was just in a different vein than the SN guys.

I would buy a solo CD of Josh in a heartbeat with his funky/soul/rock style, but I can't see him being center stage in front of SN.

Lukas had another great performance.
I liked Magni's accoustic version better. His voice sounded way too strained.

Ryan did save himself but I'm taking him out of my contenders. It's partly the way he doesn't take what is best of a song to make it his own but rather tries to beat the crap out of it. Mainly it's the way he moves. He has no artistry, he jumps and seems to want to go through doors!

Josh played well last night but he never was a contender. Tonight was painful. He received enough exposure.

Jill's energy was admirable. Keeping her smile despite brutal comments every week was nice to see. She wasn't a contender either.

*snort* This just made me think of Ryan doing Mary Cathrine Gallagher, smashing through the drum kit, then getting up with his hands in his arm pits. He pulls them out, smells them, then raising his hands says "Supernova!!"

I do agree with you. He seems to be a mosh pit short of a slam dance.

I'm going to miss Josh. His friends and fans should be very proud of him for staying true to himself. *gives Josh standing ovation*
I'm not going to miss Jill. Though she has been more likable this past week.
I thought both of their performances were swansongs. The last hoorah. Good for them.

Ryan in the bottom three? I guess he scared people. *shrug* That didn't make sense to me. I find it humorous that SP keeps telling him he looks uncomfortable on stage. He might be a little too intense for them.

Bummer that Lukas had to share the encore spotlight. At least they gave the second encore to the right person but bummer that they plugged Magni in. His performance was 100x better on Tuesday night.

Ya know I've been thinking about the whole Ryan bottom three thing, and I think he fell victim to being in most people's "middle" of the pack. Most people probably think he should stay, at least for now - but he wasnt high enough on their list to actually vote for him, especially since most people probably thought he was safe...whereas obviously people knew Patrica and Zayra would be in danger and need help to stay around.

Well, it's like I told my kid last night. Most of the chaff has been removed (Matt, Josh, Phil, Jill) or identified (Patrice, Zayra). And so, after the easy ones are gone, somebody good is going to by default end up in the Bottom 3 at some point. This week was a bit early, IMO, for Ryan, but it's inevitable.

Question for those that watched last night. At the end of Tuesday show they revealed the bottom three which were Jill, Zayra, and Patrice. Why was Zayra not standing at the end with Patrice and Ryan?

Also, about Josh in particular. Josh had been told many times how to 'improve' his performance and what SuperNova was looking to do. He was told he needed to rock more and also to get rid of the guitar. He refused to do that. He obvisious was on the show to get as much exposure for himself as possible. He couldn't careless if he won. For that reason alone he needed to go home. He was talented but openly defient. He had to go or else it sent a bad message to the otehr contestents.

Zayra was the first person Bwak told to sit down because she was safe.

I can't believe for one second Josh didn't go into this competition not wanting to win. I think that most likely happened after a few weeks. After realizing that they weren't willing to mesh with him, he just kept doing his thing knowing he wasn't going to win. They weren't willing to blend his sound with their sound. He wasn't willing to sacrifice who he is to win the audition. I applaud him for that.

So far I have thought that Ryan was pretty good, but does anyone else think that he bastardized "Enjoy The Silence"? I really like that song and I thought it was awful!

heh. I'm sure there are other people that think that. I? liked it. My husband says I have to be careful because I am starting to feel the RyanLove pretty powerfully. He said it won't be long before I say, "Ryan can do no wrong in my eyes." Like I say about Lukas.

I am not a huge Depress Mode fan. I like there stuff, I'm just not going to get upset when someone messes with it.

So I liked the re-arrangement for the most part. His movements on stage seem to screw up his timing, though. I thought he came in late several times, and he faded in and out on some of the verses.

I still think he was way better then Jill or Josh.

I'm not a huge Depeche Mode fan, and generally don't get too upset at rearrangements, but I just didn't think it added to the song. I wouldn't choose to listen to Ryan's version of 'Enjoy the Silence' again.

However, I can see his reasoning wanting to turn it up to be closer to with SN's style, they don't strike me as Depeche Mode fans...

I agree with you Glow, I applaud Josh also for not changing who he was. It shows maturity....if SuperNova don't want him for who he is than he was ok with that. He took that time to showcase who he was. I appreciate that more than Dana trying to change everything about her to get a gig which she wasn't going to get anyways. Dana will be better off forgetting everything SuperNova told her. It just came across as so painfully discomforting. Even the Tattoo thing. Take Josh and Dana. Josh was one of 4 rockers who did not go to the tattoo shop (Jill, Ryan, and Storm) being the others). I just get the feeling Dana was doing everything to fit in. Josh on the other hand if he wanted a tattoo he would get it at his own pace. Josh was Josh and just trying to be Josh. I admire his focus.

I had spoiled myself for this show. So I knew who was in the bottom 3 and which 2 went home. So I was watching it more for reactions and it was interesting. I think Ryan fans really assumed he was safe and didn't vote heavily for him. He may have alot more fans voting next week.

I think it is interesting that Magni is the first one to get 2 encores. I truly have never felt he was going to be in the final bunch. He has always been rather second tier to me. Maybe the guys are more interested in him musically than I thought. But I believe he is a good story with the family visit, etc. His singing is great. But Magni does nothing for me on stage. He is more the type of singer I want to listen to than watch. I do think he would disappear in front of the band. And I didn't care for his original song he wrote either.

Josh and Jill were never going to win. So it is best they are gone. Patrice and Zayra should be the next 2 that leave. Unless Zayra builds a strong fan base that saves her every week.

I agree...Patrice and Zayra really should be the next two to go. So nice for them that they get to go to Vegas..and then it should be GONZO for them! However, I firmly believe that Zayra is just be kept around for entertainment purposes..as we all wonder what confangled outfit she is going to wear every week. Dave has stopped even making comments about her that have anything to do with music...as it is so obviously a foregone conclusion that she will be leaving...just a matter of "when"...

I completely agree with you here, Loree. Since week 2, Magni has always produced good performances that I have considered to be within the best five performances of those weeks. However, I have never considered him to be a real contender until he got the second encore. To me, he has always been, at most, a high-ranking middle-packer. In my opinion, he has yet to really sell a performance to me, but then again, I'm not the one choosing who to eliminate. I think he'll stay for at least the Top 5 (with Lukas, Dilana, Storm, and Ryan. Toby's been losing steam since the second week).

Josh and Jill were never going to win... Patrice and Zayra should be the next 2 that leave.

Agreed, and agreed. Zayra should have left a loooong time ago, IMHO. Although she has very strong performance skills, I find a lot of her performances to be too weird and gimmicky (not to mention out-of-tune).

Unless Zayra builds a strong fan base that saves her every week.

Wasn't there some talk of a 'Save Zayra' movement? I have to admit though, that while I think she svcks major as$ during the performance nights, I found her version of "Not An Addict" to be tolerable, if not good.

I just watched it last night. Anchors were good. Lukas was better, but I still didn't love it. Would rather watch Marty do it. Magni, I thought, sounded great. He could win Rock Star: Live.

Ryan blew my mind. I'm a huge Ryan convert. I didn't care for him during the first few weeks. Now, I even forgive him for messing with Paint it Black.

Thank Cod it was a double elimination. And kudos to Josh for being honest and yet, polite about the experience.

Now, if only Patrice would get off my screen.
