I've got pumpkin ale and a migraine, so hopefully I'll make it through seg-capping.

Recrap of last week

Head to head, four days to master the dance...

Bringing in an etiquette teacher to help Scary figure out the quickstep? It seems to have helped, but it's the last thing I'd have thought of.

Isn't that cute Tom and Drew can do the same lame kick.

Mambo or Quickstep tonight.

Mel will be doing the Quickstep.

Mel finds it restrictive. Maksim brings in help with someone that put a book on her head.

Judges comments after a hand for the band.

Len. B stands for ballroom, I thought you would be good at Latin, but not hold that posture and move so beautifully.

Bruno. Classy look of Lena Horne and Ginger Rogers, what a makeover it worked.

Carrie. Your posture is beautiful, you lost balance on the turn and watch the shoulders just a hair.

Carrie Ann. You certainly made me laugh you are exuberant, it was a kaleidoscope of things but not a proper mambo I was looking for.

Len. You would win a prize for dedication and will to win, you were in the bottom two and have all that stress. It was hot at the top and a bit wooden down below. You danced on the second beat which is hard to do.

Bruno, you are fun to watch, but like a bulldog chasing a squirrel. You have technical shortcomings but you work hard and you will get better.

Not a good sign. Mark's trying to win the audience over with his sense of humor, and the ones in the studio are responding -- but last week, he got a nationwide 'Not so fast, rich boy'. I'm not sure his choice of music is going to help his cause. Kym's choice of outfit may be their best hope.

Really could have done without the sleeveless shirt. I thought they did better than straight 6s. Cuban can move, just don't try to be Albert the model. He's clearly giving it his all.

"RE: Wayne Newton and Cheryl"

And again with the gun hands.

Bruno. I know she is a gorgeous girl, not sure about the air kissing, it was almost like walking down the red carpet, not quick enough and it requires a sprint in the foot.

Carrie Ann. You brought Las Vegas and I saw a sparkle in your eye, this wasn't the dance for the hip action. You are the showman

Len. Week one you have to prove you can dance, and week two you have to show improvement, this was not an improvement. It was a more difficult dance to master but not one of your better dances.

"RE: Wayne Newton and Cheryl"

"RE: Wayne Newton and Cheryl"

They'll have to work a little harder than before to save out a 15, but I'll still predict they make it. Wayne's dancing ability (or lack thereof) currently has no chance of affecting whether he stays out not. Mark's in trouble unless Floyd accidentally throws a punch.

At least Wayne didn't look so stiff 2nite. He looked liked he was having fun. Isn't the gun fingers one of his signature moves. As for Cheryl if she is trying to pull off a Vegas showgirl in that outfit I think she missed. I go to Vegas every year the girls out there don't look like blue chickens.

"RE: Wayne Newton and Cheryl"
Posted by Estee on 10-01-07 at 08:16 PM
It was more of the Classic Vegas look: if you're doing an Elvis tribute, might as well harken back to the feathered showgirl era. (I just used 'harken' in a sentence. I need sleep.) Besides, if you move like a chicken, you might as well dance next to one...

She is in a black sparkley dress with overly pink eye shadow.

To some fairly traditional sounding Mambo music

"RE: Marie Osmond and Jonathan"

Donny in the house cheering her on. She did the death drop.

Len. That was absolutely great. I will give you a wee bit of advice, work to your strengths, your attitude and performance.

Bruno. A really hot latino mama getting down and dirty, you can perform Rita Moreno in West Side Story, you don't need the reinforcements.

Carrie Ann. You are one hot cougar. I love the trust you have for your partner and you went for it.

I really like the death drop. I think it looks really cool in a dance. Looks like it could be a scary move to make, and I give Marie all of the credit for trying it. but aren't you supposed to go alot lower on the drop. It looked liked Jonathan barely got his leg over her.

Doing the Quick Step.

Albert's Grandparents were ballroom dancers and Grandfather died recently.

Finds this the hardest thing he has ever done. Grandma sends a pep talk video.

To: 99 Red Balloons.

She is in a red dress with lots of cut out and slits.

"RE: Albert Reed amd Anna "
Posted by Snidget on 10-01-07 at 08:29 PM
Nice slide across the dance floor at the end.

Carrie Ann. You made your grandfather proud. You have this exhuberence when you dance and it is a silly energy, keep the personality there even when you are doing a ballroom.

Len. You may be the dark horse, I wasn't expecting you to keep that hold. You skip and are not smooth but you will get over that.

Bruno. You were firing on all cylinders, hard to keep up that bravado, you have to control the space hopper and I'm sure you will apply yourself and do better in ballroom.

"RE: Albert Reed amd Anna "
Posted by StarryLuna on 10-01-07 at 08:30 PM
Anna's more fun when she gets to yell at her partner. Albert is too easygoing.

I thought his footwork was sloppy in a few places, but overall it was fun to watch. I agree that he has to keep the energy up, because that's the only way he's going to get votes.

How many times can she smack him in the head on a turn.

Danced to a spanish language shong

Lots of nice moves in there and he looked good even when he was just a prop for her to dance around, IMO.

Bruno. That was exhilarating hot raw the blond bomb shell. Hard to catch the girl in time, professionals find that hard to do.

Carrie Ann. You are the real deal and you were really leading here, you were dynamic, great job.

Len. After last week we would have a pit stop and you went into overdrive, and that was so good for week two. Very very well done.

Doing the Quickstep.

She is having issues with the closeness of the dance. She can't see him as the strapping leading man type. She thinks ballroom is more natural for her.

She is in a light pink dress

Lyrics. Suddenly I see. On way too much crack.

"RE: Jennie Garth and Derek"

Nice and quick ans she seems more comfortable in this style.

Unfortunate blip at the end.

I think they might score extra for concussions.

Len. you just got on with the quickstep. You did a lovely thing in the middle there. Ballroom really suits you and get that posture down. Shame about the trip at the end.

Bruno. Started very well but we found a few icebergs on the way. Have to sustain the posture all the way, and I'm sure you will do better.

Carrie Ann. I was sad to see the little mistakes, it felt like it would all go together. Don't think and be in the moment all the time, be with him a thousand percent.

Posture was better this week, but still looks like he is trying to block a punch.

Bruno. You nearly won, the footwork was good, light on your feet, work on the posture, that let you down, you did the dance and you did it well.

Carrie Ann. Huge improvement on handling her. I know you lead with your shoulders, open up your chest a little bit more.

Len. I thought this would be a good dance for you, the hold was like you were guarding against the left hook.

Floyd's not bulky because he's a welterweight fighter, or maybe junior welterweight, I forget which, so he doesn't have a hell of a lot of meat on his bones. He's also preparing for his next fight in addition to dancing, so he's getting down to his fighting weight.

Nice split at the end, they look like they had fun.

Carrie Ann. I was worried because you were so great last week, and not suited, but I was wrong. You have so much power and you can control it and I'm addicted.

Len. You are the no stress express. Speed is only one element. Bruno cuts in and Len says stop being a smart with him. It is about light and shape hard and soft.

Bruno it was a blistering performance and you looked like a professional and you didn't put a foot wrong.

Tom. Len you want more raunch and a slower quickstep, I don't know you anymore.
