Survivorchick's Cornertime

<Cornertime intro plays and we see SurvivorChick perched on a stool facing the corner. Her timer reads 12:02:59. Kismet approaches and they shake hands.>

Thank you for joining us for another Cornertime. Today we are lucky to have SurvivorChick with us. Schick has been a great addition to our board and made quite an impact right away. She is a famous bar patron, Survivor Fanatic, and she is the resident psychologist. You all know how badly we need one of those on here. Thank you for the interview Schick. Why are you in the corner and who sent you here?

Innocent little me? Why AM I in the corner? I never did anything wrong. Oh wait! I might have been sent here for the corruption of a minor. Or maybe it’s because you caught me dancing with your husband

<Schick gives Kismet a guilty shit-eating grin. Kismet gives an evil smile and just nods.>

Actually you are here for both and for leaving for vacation without telling anyone. How did you find this place and why did you stay?

I actually can’t remember exactly how I stumbled into SB. I think I was searching for Survivor info prior to the start of S2. I wanted to see who the contestants were etc. A link must’ve sent me here. I was (am) obsessed with Survivor and I was thrilled to discover that I’m not the only one. I periodically checked the fanatic board throughout S2 and it wasn’t until the week before Jerri was booted that I registered. People were speculating that Jerri would be voted off that week and I felt I had to speak out against that outrageous idea. (Oops)

Yes we are all addicts.. Who are your favorite posters and why?

Oh no. The dreaded question. Well, I’ve read enough of these cornertimes to know that you won’t let me wriggle out of answering it. And I love it when people mention ME here, so I’ll try to list ALL of my favorites. First of all, the Canadians on this board do such a good job of representing my country, I am proud of them all. Ice Cat, Pepe, Leif.. Of course I’ve always had a little crush on Survivorerist. GT rocks but confuses the hell out of me. I have a lot of respect for JV for typing his mind. Ronnet is awesome. Sherpa astounds me with his intelligence. Boomerang gave me the coolest sig pic on the block. Misto is so interesting; I’m dying to have theological discussions with her. Dangerkitty has been a favourite from the start. Ebug is a sweetheart, as is sleeve. LadyT has a heart of gold. I love Tinkerbell and my favourite drag queen Lisapooh. I appreciate AyaK for keeping the peace. Jizzy is so cool. Vampkira - well, who doesn’t just adore her? Moonbaby, Pendragon, Monkeyboy and Superman make me laugh so much. Aymelek always entertains me. And people like Rio, True, Dabo, Itzlisa, Koko, Mumbo jumbo, Darbygrl, Taginite, Mon Cherie, Dangerboy, Dalton, Makeitstop, GG, Shakes, Katttywoman, ICB, Flying Squirrel, Cherberrie, Asskicker, Volmel, Skyraider, OFG, Rudyrules, Rat Chef, Joe Dynamite, Skierdude and Samiam make SB a fantastic community. Oh, and you’re alright too Kismet. I guess.

Fair enough.. Where did you get the name Schick from?

I lurked for several weeks before registering and when I finally did, it was a spontaneous move. Survivorchick was just an obvious choice given my obsession with the show and the fact that I’m female.

Do you feel like you are hawking razors when people call you schick in chat?

Smart aleck Kismet

<Schick adds 30 minutes to Kismet’s timer. Kismet just laughs and says "That's just for show" and points to Schick's own timer which now has an additional hour added. A checkmark appears indicating that the final hour will be spent with checks. Kismet snickers.>

How did you come up with that adorable sig pic?

Well…when I discovered that I was a contestant of Shakesvivor (two weeks after Shakes announced the players) I realized that I needed to come up with a picture for the show - fast. I didn’t want to go with something sexy because my husband would tease me about being an internet slut and I don’t want to be perceived that way. So I thought a chick with a Survivor bandana would be cute. I originally found a little cartoon chick and I cut and pasted Nick’s bandana onto it - but it looked like crap. When I showed my husband, he made me the one I use now. Later, Boomerang gave me a wink.

How do you differ from your BV persona? Do you like the way you were portrayed?

Ha ha! Well, aside from the fact that I’m not a slut OR a lesbian, I think my portrayal was reasonable. Depending on the writer, I was sometimes portrayed as kind of assertive and bitchy. I’m not really like that unless I need to be. In real life, I am usually very sweet and very compassionate. I don’t have a problem with the way that I was portrayed. I lied on my application - I deserved everything I got.

You are another famous bar flirt.

Famous bar flirt?!?! What are you talking about? I’m not flirtatious, I’m friendly.

<Kismet adds another hours of checks for being in such total denial.>

Who is the most fun to flirt with?

Surv WAS the most fun to flirt with until he started flirting back! LOL. No I’m kidding. He still is the most fun to flirt with. In fact, I really think he’s the only one I flirt with. Isn’t he? <Schick stops to contemplate the subjectivity of the action “flirt”>

Are you going to meet Leif for Coffee?

Good question

<Schick laughs>

I think that if he has patience, one day I might. But my husband would want to come with me. And just in case Leif IS a psycho, I would want my husband to come with me too. It would be great if Leif brought his wife and we could double date. Somehow I don’t think that will happen.

Tell us more about you..

I live two blocks from the beach in Vancouver, Canada with my adorable husband. The past year or so has been spent primarily focusing on overcoming my chocolate addiction. (Okay, so “primarily” might be a bit of an exaggeration. It’s my way of saying that I haven’t accomplished much over the past year.) Now, instead of being addicted to chocolate, I watch every reality show that comes on TV (even the dumb ones). In the fall I will begin work on my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. I love children and although I don’t have any of my own yet, I would love to work with them in the future. To make ends meet while I go to school, I am working at a daycare. I don’t have any pets. My husband and I are going through an “irresponsible” phase and we can’t even take care of a plant let alone an animal. I love people, art, the ocean, traveling and hearing other people’s beliefs. I am an artist. I mostly paint and draw, but! I am also into photography. I believe that the most important thing in life is happiness, so I value love and life experiences over material wealth. I will try everything once. I want everyone who touches my life to walk away smiling - even if they are an asshole.

Hmmmm an addiction to chocolate turning into an addiction for reality TV. Seems like a very common symptom here. Then again you are a psychology student so I am sure that you know all of the ramifications. Is there anything else you want us to know?

Yeah. I collect bottlecaps and have a huge crush on Paul Newman. <sigh>

Well that pretty much answers the questions that I can ask you publicly. Thank you so much for the cornertime Schick. Thank you once again for your attention ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks for giving those of us in BV such a fun application to work with. We're all glad that you enjoyed this board enough to stick around! Good luck with your Masters program.

Oh, and I hate to ruin his image, but Leif is not a psycho ... even though I think some of the old SS board regulars have a mental image of him that is similar to Norman Bates.

That's funny, I was just getting ready to reply to this when you bumped it. Great minds I guess.

Thanks a bunch schick, I liked learning more about you. We will have that theological discussion one day, I look forward to it. Of course, you know it is hard to bring me out of my shell, being so shy and quiet and all, but I'll try my best for you.

Thanks again for the sharing with us Schick, you da bomb.
Kis baby...what can I say, you are the queen.

>I think that if he has <
>patience, one day I might.<

OK, patience I have if we meet on a Sunday, late afternoon, at Marcello's Pizzeria for a #3, large pizza (do you like anchovies?) and some nice expresso after the meal. Marcello's is on Commercial Drive, I think you probably live in Kits or West Van, so that is about half way between us.

>But my husband would want<
>to come with me. And<
>just in case Leif IS <
>a psycho, I would want<
>my husband to come with<
>me too.<

Your husband is more than welcome, did you think I had something else in mind other than meeting for a coffee???? And no, I am not a psycho. I am 6' 4" and 250 pounds and spent my youth in a pool hall, is your hubby ready for that?

>It would be <
>great if Leif brought his<
>wife and we could double<
>date. Somehow I don’t think <
>that will happen.<

My wife, I am sorry to say, will not be invited.

Send me a message if you are game for this little meeting. By the way, the pizza is on me.

Rejection is so damn hard on a person, it really is. Now I know how Bozo must feel every waking hour of his pitiful existence.

When you are ready Schick, leave me a message in my inbox. I will be looking forward to it.

Excellent, Leifsy. Nice to have you back. "Love Cruise" debuts on Sept. 25 in the States; we'll get to watch Bozo get rejected!
