*tap* *tap* Sound check. For the last time, we're on the air!

Tonight is the very last night of American Idol -- ever. I've spent many an hour in this forum in past seasons and, well, as they say, all good (and bad) things come to an end.

The show kicks off with a view of the two finalists from Mississippi (yes, I spelled that correctly) and then a songfest by some aspiring idols from seasons past. It was nice to see Pia again!

I think we're in for an entire evening of blast-from-the-idol-past songs, by the looks of it.

And Simon and Randy aren't likely to show up.

I'm secretly hoping Adam Lambert will appear with his version of House of the Rising Sun. That would be coolness.

Bo Rice kicks off the next rock number as part of a quintet of guy vocalists.

I don't recognize all of them, but I do recognize Chris Dougherty and a couple of others (like Caleb) look... vaguely familiar (which applies to just about everyone we've seen tonight).

Best number of the night so far.

I'm watching .... a bit behind you tho - recorded you know so I can FF what I don't like.
I'm realizing there are more seasons I didn't watch than ones I did.

Yup, I must have missed the entire latter half of the seasons. It wasn't the same without Simon and Randy. I recognized about half of the former idol contestants, all of them from earlier seasons.

I am very pleased with this final season of American Idol. It wasn't perfect by any means, but overall I would give it a solid A. It did feel rushed with all the double eliminations. That is the only part I didn't like. I'm going to honestly miss this show...

Ok everyone, that's a wrap. Feels strange though. The whole reason I came to RTVW way back in '07 was because of American Idol. Now, just like virtually all of our community here, it's gone.

Watching the Tues. night retrospective made me tear up about this place. Some of my favorite online memories were spent in this forum.

It's depressing to see how many peeps are long gone.
